Summary: A nice find for Possum fans
Review: BCI Eclipse is the producer of this budget-priced DVD. Also known as Brentwood, they're the ones that have those 20 movies you never heard of on 5 DVD packages for 15 bucks that you see in stores everywhere. They also have the DVD, Merle Haggard - In Concert, which you might have seen.

This DVD is better, but shorter at almost 45 minutes. It has George in front of a club audience in Lafayette, Louisiana in 1983 and was probably shown later on the Nashville Network in an hour-long program (including commercials). It has fade-outs after most of the songs, so it was produced for TV. The direction is awful at times. The picture and sound are great for a value-priced DVD.

George often seems confused, probably from whatever he was drinking that evening. He's in fine voice, though.

The only other feature is a scrolling bio that has If Drinking Don't Kill Me playing in the background that takes a little over a minute. Also has chapter access for the songs. That's it. 5 stars for a cheap, enjoyable George Jones DVD.

The songs:

Once You've Had The Best
The Race Is On
Bartender's Blues
You Better Treat Your Man Right
If Drinking Don't Kill Me
Shine On
I'm Not Ready Yet
Why Baby Why
He Stopped Loving Her Today
White Lightnin'
Jambalaya (with Lacy J. Dalton)
You Win Again (with Terry Gibbs)
She Thinks I Still Care
A Picture Of Me Without You

Summary: Review of George Jones, Live in Concert
Review: This is really a poor video. George sings well, but looks uncomfortable, as though he would rather not be there. The camera man taking the footage must have been sleeping. Really poor camera shots of the band. None of the band look as though they are having a good time.
