Summary: This review is for the bonus disk ONLY, not the DVD!!
Review: I have not seen the DVD yet (although I'm sure its good). However I do have the bonus disk. Being a newcomer to Rouse, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. This is in two words, "laid back". Something you would put on while driving along on a summer day with sandy beaches on one side and your hot girlfriend sleeping in the passenger seat next to you. This is the type of feeling Rouse's album evokes, and his ability to craft well-written tunes in the vein of talented singer/songwriter's like Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, etc is top notch. Highly recommended.

Summary: Josh Rouse does it again
Review: Josh Rouse, is by far, one of the best unknown artists out there. This DVD/CD set includes 2 discs of over 3 hours of pure enjoyment. Let me start out with the DVD:

The DVD contains a live concert during New Years Eve in 2003. The live concert is just awesome. The only disappointing part of the concert is that the band does not have a saxaphone player to accompany the song "Love Vibrations". They play mostly all 1972 songs, but add a little bit of other songs from his earlier albums such as "Under Cold Blue Stars", "Home", and "Dressed up like Nebraska". The other part of the dvd is just a bio to know Rouse a little bit better. He talks about his music, and how it affects him. It just portrays that the singer is having a fun time with his music. The only downer about this DVD is that it shows some highlights from the 1972 DVD, which is just wasted film I've already seen. With that, i give the DVD a 4/5.

The CD is very awesome. The price is really good to get a DVD and an actual album of unreleased songs from Rouse. My favorite song has to be "Pittsburgh". The song has a very jazzy rock feel to it. Most of the CD is very mellow and smooth. Its a great CD to have for old Rouse fans. I rate this a 5/5.

So, one 4, and one 5: 4 1/2. So, I rated this a five star. This is a great collection to own if you are a big Rouse fan. If you've never heard of him, definately go out and purchase his latest CD: "1972". Its awesome.

Can't wait for his new album in 2005!!!
