Summary: The PERFECT Ipecac Substitute!!!
Review: Leave it to Ol' Cher and the wisehounds at WEA (wee wee wee!!!) to put out the perfect and mostly harmless ipecac substitute. And just in time too! About two weeks ago my gimpy bulldog (Colonel) received a "treat" from my numskully spouse Bessie. The baboon "accidentally" put leftovers in his dog bowl and he was poisoned (I mean it--the woman cooks like a chemist). I nearly panicked when I realized we had no ipecac in the house and there was nothing for the Colonel to chew on in our "yard". Then it hit me! The new Cher video hits collection DVD!

Fifteen tracks certain to induce vomit! I had a little trouble deciding which video to play (something made more difficult by Bessie's blubbering and apologizing--insincere I might add as she snuggled with her two poisonfree Bobos). The ridiculous video for "Half-breed" induced a snarl but no barf, but the silly "Dove Love" Frenchy tune did the trick. The Colonel purged and lives another day. Thank you Cher!

Summary: Squeee!!
Review: My friend got me this DVD for Xmas and a few weeks later, I'm still really excited about this DVD. I'm fairly young and I've never had much of a musical influence, but wow, Cher really makes an impression on me everytime.
While I don't like every track on this DVD, I think this DVD really expresses the versitility, evolution and power of Cher. And wow, she never ages, does she?

The only tracks that I don't play repeatedly are "Walking in Memphis" and "One by One". That's not because they're bad tracks. I'm just not a big Elvis freak and One by one is a little too soft for my taste. Cher still pulls them both off very well.

The track I play the most is "Save Up All Your Tears." That is such a power song. I love the dominatrix feel and the emotion Cher puts into this song. It's the one song that really made me start paying attention to the power in her song lyrics.

"Main Man" is really kind of cute and sappy. I'm not sappy, so it would get on my nerves, if it wasn't followed by "I Found Someone." Here we see Cher with her exboyfriend, Rob Camiletti. Then later on in "Heart of Stone", you see him again briefly. It sort of adds a bit of a documentary feel to the DVD, a before and after.

"Believe" is my favorite current music video of her's. I remember when it first came out and I would stand in stores, just to watch it. Some people think it's lame, but I think it's yet another example of Cher being a goddess archetype. "Song for the Lonely" is a song I've had on my playlist for ages. It's always moved me, bringing me hope. Then when I finally saw the video, I was moved. I even cried a little. The vid really represents where NYC has been, where we are now and how we're all united in strength and diversity.

Dove L'Amore actually kinda creeps me out. That outfit is just way too weird. Not a good look for Cher, but she sure as hell pulled it off better than anyone else could. Well, it's worth seeing anyway.

"Half Breed." The moment that song first popped up, I expected it to suck, since I'm young and jaded. On the contrary, it was freakin' awesome. Here, Cher sings about her ethnicity, how she was unaccepted and how she remains strong. As a multiethnic person, I can really empathize and respect that. Heck, as a human being, I give her mad props. This vid also shows how amazing Cher looked when she was younger and continues to look.

A true diva for all time.

Summary: good but lacking
Review: Ok. so number one, it's great to finally have a collection like this on dvd. Sound and picture are great and it's nice to see some of cher's lesser seen videos on here. However, One by One should have been the Jr Vasquez dance mix that is on the cher cd. I purchased this dvd strictly because it was listed as such on the cover. I think this dvd would have been better if the track listing was just as Amazon.com has it listed. Some glaring omissions All or Nothing, Just like Jesse James, A different Kind Of Love Song. Still nice having Walking in Memphis and Love can build a bridge. Also nice seeing the Heart of Stone video again.

Summary: Good but where are the rest?
Review: This collection includes alot of great videos they are all from the Geffen and Warner labels 1988 - 2004, but it could have been so much more, where are the videos for
"the musics no good without you", "alive again" "dead ringer for love"
and maybe some more rare videos like "hell on wheels"
"halfbreed" (the horse video)or the sonny and cher top of the pops "I got you babe" or the version used in the concert footage amoung others. Id rather the hell on wheels video to Main main anyday.

I guess i will still buy it anyway so what difference does it make to the promoters!

Summary: another hit for cher.
Review: this dvd is great. i have seen most of the filmclips on here and they are great, definatly dvd worthy material. It is lacking classics like"alive again" "the music's no good without you" and " i got you babe" but still well worth the money.

Summary: A real disappointment - missing too many videos!
Review: This is a very good complication of Cher's hits, but pity it does not carry on eof my favorite music video "A different kind of love song", and that't the main reason I am not purchase it.

Pity.

Summary: DIVA DELUXE
Review: Wow. There is a lot here (and a hell of a lot missing). The one thread that is predominant through the viewing is Cher & Rob Camiletti's incredible love story. I have never seen the video for "Main Man" - so that was a real treat. The Geffen videos show Ms. Cher at her "Cher-est" - she was so "on top" at that career point - I believe personally as well as professionally. You can almost sense it in her face; it is beautiful. I give the DVD 5 Stars because it's about time this material was commercially released; however - once again - the "Cher Camp" has released a product which is not up to par with the true artistry level of who Cher really is. This is a DVD for Cher's sake - where are the missing obvious videos ("Love & Understanding", "The Music's No Good Without You") - or the OTHER duets - "Piu Che Puoi" with Eros Ramazzotti, "Just Begin Again" with Spinal Tap (she recorded a duet side for when the toured), "Dead Ringer" with Meatload (c'mon that is a hoot) - hell, how about at least a promo clip of Cher and Sonny doing any one of their singles. Hey - there's footage of Cher and Gregg as well. And while we're at it - where is "Hell On Wheels"? One of the very first "music videos" ever produced - and it's actually great! How about that animated "Dark Lady" cartoon from the TV show? I could go on and on - this is the tip of a mountain named CHER. This is a very watchable DVD - she has always commanded the camera - Cher is truly the most amazing and fascinating female entertainer of our time.
