Summary: Read This Review Before You Buy This One
Review: Be careful on this one. If you're die hard, you're gonna love anything they did and the hand-held camcorder thing will work for you and you will forgive the thin sound.

If you are looking to understand the Ramones, you would do better picking up the Anthology CD set. They didn't look like this in person and they sure as hell didn't sound like this either.....the real sound was mind numbing, totally engaging, and in your face every second....if you forgot to think for one sec, you were lost. This video let's you quit thinking from the start.....this one would have been better left unreleased.....except that it's about all there is to see them now.....what a shame!

Summary: Great Video! ...Can't wait for Vol. II
Review: Hey kids! Or should I say Gabba Gabba Hey? Two years after their retirement, The Ramones have released a new home video titled: Ramones Around the World. Around the world contains concert footage from places such as Japan, London, Chile, and of course, home sweet home, Coney Island High New York city. It's cool to hear fans from many different countries singing along in the universal language of Ramones music. In addition to music, there are some great behind the scenes videos taken by Marky Ramone himself on his own home video camera which he brought along on tour with him from 1987-1996. Some of the highlights are The Ramones receiving gold record awards, visiting The Berlin wall, and hanging out backstage with the members of Rancid, Motorhead's Lemmy, and Debbie Harry from Blondie. I'm a little disappointed in the fact that most of the concert videos were shot from far away and some of the sound quality was kind of weak, but all in all, Around the World is an absolute must for all Ramones fans.

Summary: A "Ramones experience"
Review: I expected to see a slick, professionally produced video, but I was in for a surprise. The whole video is shot on a hand-held store bought camcorder! Complete with the sound quality you'd expect from a tiny camcorder mic! Really! That's the down side. On the up side, you get the feeling that you're actually right there with the band - when they're performing, relaxing backstage, getting mobbed by fans in their van. It's a raw kind of experience. I loved it. Just like their music - raw, in-your-face, kind of dumb, TONS of fun.

Summary: Hey Ho this Blows
Review: The Ramones were a GREAT band, that's an understatement......BUT....with all the film footage they have of them, couldn't they have compiled something better than this? The Ramones were at their best when they were pure adrenline race car 5th gear punk rock. This dvd took all their lame commercial music and crammed it all together. The best song they do is 53rd & 3rd, with some other guy singing it. It does have a moment, when they are in a bus in south america, and they're being chased by a horde of screaming fans. If you like the sappy Ramones songs like Rock and Roll High School, then buy this. If you like songs like Pin Head, Loudmouth, Rockaway Beach etc, you will be disapppointed. Sorry, but the truth hurts. Adios Amigos, R.I.P. Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee.

Summary: Good Video
Review: This video is good, but I think that the video "We're Outta here" or the "Lifestyle"-video gives you more information, because on this video are more concert-scenes than others. But nevertheless every Ramones-Fan should have it!

Summary: Gabba Gabba Hey
Review: What can a die-hard Ramones say? I need shock therapy after watching this video. Or maybe I should sniff some glue... Well, Ramones fans will love this very personal video, shot from a camcorder. Reminds me of meeting the band in person. No hi-fi professional quality video here, but that's what the Ramones are: raw, in your face punk rock. I recommend this video to all pinheads around the world.

Summary: Gabba Gabba Hey- I Could Watch This All Day...
Review: Yes, it was that good of a movie. Though it doesn't include any music videos, it was the pre and original VHS edit of the newer Ramones video- "RAW."

Being the unedited first edition, this includes some unseen footage not on any other Ramones videos, including its predecessor listed above.

This video was [luckily] made in 1998, so it had time to group pieces from all The Ramones footage from their beginning, to their end. Unlike the 1991 compilation, "Lifestyles of the [Rich and] Ramones", this doesn't include any head-to-head interviews, just pure, raw concert footage; and some extra fun tidbits- like the go-kart race between The Ramones and some roadies. Another classic part from this masterpiece of a cult-flick, was the jumping of a Spanish fan from a concert hall balcony, to the roaring crowd 20 feet below; all while "Blitzkrieg Bop" (I think) is being rocked-out to it's limits by The Ramones.

As afforementioned, this video only has the works, getting down the bones of the world famous band, without throwing in any flashy intros, or crappy [supposed] real-life encounters with The Ramones. Only the best concert footage and on the road video was included in this round-up of Ramones footage. While little parts were later and previously shown in the "We're Outta Here" extra video and "RAW", this has got all the rare and classic shot you want.

If you want great concerts pics, or fun times on the road- this is for you. Whether you're new or old to The Ramones, all fans should own this video! SO go out and buy it!

Thanks for reading, "Gabba Gabba Hey", and "Have A Nice Day",

Mikey.
