Summary: We can't get the music to sync with the picture?
Review:
Ned O'Hanlon the producer of this live concert is obviously blind or deaf, or is too lazy to sync the music with the picture throughout the whole concert?

Therefore, to enjoy the dvd, simply close your eyes and listen to the music, as looking at O'Hanlons ... editing attempts to steer your mind away from his awful lip syncing work will make you sick...such as long shots from the back of the theatre, or dizzying un-interesting characterless fast cuts.

Brilliant music, ... production/editing from hobbyist O'Hanlon.

Summary: Cranberries' Parisian Performance Rocks!
Review: Any fan of the Cranberries needs to have this DVD, their first recorded concert since '94. But don't do what I did and buy this version - WAIT FOR THE RE-EDITED VERSION COMING SOON! This version is very poorly edited - difficult to navigate, with a frustrating kaleidescope menu pattern that forces you to wait too long to see what you want. And selecting the track that you want is a bit like playing a slot machine.
The performance, however, rocks as usual. It is completely live, with absolutely no lip-synching or overdubs. Dolores & the guys are in their best form. Includes all the big hits - Dreams, Zombie, Linger, Salvation, etc.; and a lot of tracks from "Bury the Hatchet." The highlights come at the end, when they perform the beautiful "You and Me" beneath a shower of rose petals with stained-glass window lighting effects, and "Just My Imagination" in front of a sea of twinkling white lights. The band is totally into it, and they play a PERFECT show!
Some of the DVD features are great, like the videos for "Animal Instict," "Just My Imagination," and "Promises," (all of these are also on the vhs), and the short documentaries; but other features are useless, such as the morphing album cover.
The Cranberries tell us on their website that a new, re-authored version is in the works. So do yourself a favor and wait for the new one, or buy the less frustrating vhs version!

Summary: La espera valio la pena...

Summary: Cranberries DVD of the year
Review: Deloris and her berries have done it again with this concert in paris. The film and audio are all excellent and some of the best I have seen. The extra video's and live inserts on the disc make it one of the most thorough i've seen not to mention the other 45 minutes of added features which include interiews, pictures, lyrics and other special features. So wether you like to watch a good concert or a Cranberries fan this is worth every dollar. It's a must have for every concert collector and it scores a 10 stars in my book. Well done and added features makes it the DVD of the year.

Summary: excellent concert ... horrible editing
Review: Excellent concert, performed before a wildly enthusiastic and very large audience (... except during the cover of Fleetwood Mac's "go your own way"). Good sound, but video could be crisper (looks like it was originally shot on film).

I would give this a "5", except for ... the HORRIBLE editing job ... This DVD appears to have been edited like a music video - the average time spent on each shot was on the order of 1 sec each (or less). The LONGEST time for a single shot was probably 3 seconds. Very distracting, for anyone wanting to see a concert, instead of a video.

Actually, I would have give this DVD a 4.5 rating (rather than a 4) but this wasn't an option ...

Summary: 5-Star Performance
Review: I had the opportunity to witness The Cranberries in concert twice and I must sy they sure know how to rock. The band's chrisma and showmanship are tight and the on-set production is great. This DVD serves to capture the wonderful moments of their 1999 Paris tour on film. The audience was boisterous and the band rocked hella good.

The DVD comes with a lot of features from the good old past and three videos from Htachet, and the navigation is much improved over the frustrating navigation in the 1st issue.

The newly authored edition with 2 more videos from Wake Up...Coffee plus a simplified and user-freindly navigation menu would be out! It is much worth it.

Summary: What is up with the sync
Review: I just bought this DVD and have to agree with most of the reviews about this title. I love the Cranberries and have seen them once in 1995 in Seattle. The sound on this DVD is incredible if you have a dolby digital surround system - it makes you feel like you are in the middle of the arena. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was the the editing in the concert in horrid, and the music and the artists are almost always out of sync. The close ups of Deloris are particullary bad. Despite that the DVD is amazing. The unplugged session is beautiful and I wished there was more, and the other live versions I think are fabulous. The only other down side to this disc is that the menus are a little annoying. Overall of this DVD is awesome and a great buy - so why wait!

Summary: Band Not Happy With End Product...
Review: I purchased this DVD from Amazon.com and I love it. The only things that keep me from REALLY LOVING IT are with the production and nothing to do with the band. The band simply rocks like always. Pure band. No voice-overs, lip-synching; just The Cranberries at their best. Delores voice is sweet and comforting on one song and then harsh and edge on another. A pure siren. Unfortunately the production is not up to par. I thought James from Australia was abit harsh with a 1, but I agree with his synopsis. It looks like it was throw out or "huuried" to meet production date. The menu belongs more with a '60 psychedelic concert than a Cranberries. A design more like thier Official website ..... would have been better and I think the band agrees because there is a Studio Hold on the production according to thier Official Website.... Check F&Q #8 Q: Why is the DVD "Beneath The Skin - Live In Paris" very hard to get?
A: The band were not happy with the end product, and decided to stop further production. New versions of the DVD and Video will be released in the coming year!
I hope The Cranberries do this one themselves; then it's sure to be done right.
