Summary: All but the fan section. GREAT!!!
Review: This is the first time that i have seen Slayer in a live performance. They are awesome just like everyone says. They put on one hell of a show. The sound in this dvd is good although i thought toward the end Tom sounded like he was tired. The only part of this dvd i didnt like was the fans rule section. A bunch of mosh brained teenagers that acted like a bunch of morons. I do hope Slayer included this as a joke because it was. I'm 31 years old and i listen to Slayer and the music does not make me act like that. I like Slayer but i dont worship them and think i have to act like an idiot to prove it.

Summary: Use 5.1!!!
Review: Before the review, a quick note: when watching this, watch on 5.1 cranked. I first saw on a regular TV, and was not able to hear Kerry King's guitar at all. Anyway, on to the DVD. This is a nice little package for Slayer fans, but their are only two points of interest: the actual show and the video for "Bloodline".

The Concert: The last show of the God Hates Us All tour. The band is pretty tight throughout, with Paul Bostaph of particular notice. The only problem performance-wise is Tom Araya's vocals. On some songs he kinda gets lazy, and he sing-handedly ruins the closing tune, "Angel Of Death". Another problem is that although Slayer plays most of the fan favorites and limits the less-than-stellar Divine Intervention and Diabolus In Musica to one song each, was there really a need to play FIVE songs from God Hates Us All? They do sound good live, though, and standards like "Hell Awaits" and "War Ensemble" are badass.

The real downer of the DVD is the completely ridiculous "Fans Rule" portion. A bunch of drunken idiots talking about how they love death and screaming "SSLAAAAAAAAYERR!!!!!" also perpetuates the negative sterotype of a metalhead as completely brainless. It's a discredit to both the fans and the band itself. If you are a big Slayer fan, get this, but just stick to the actual concert and the cool video for "Bloodline".

Summary: Great performance, stupid fans
Review: Okay, I'm just going to say that the sound quality, and the band's performance on here is excellent. They do not disappoint, and I believe that this is their best sounding live performance available (yes, and that includes Decade of Agression, which also rules).
I have one problem. The "Fans Rule" section is terrible. They have some of the stupidest people screaming "SLAYER!" into the camera, acting drunk, saying really stupid things, and just in general, not coming across as anything intellegent. I watched this and instantly thought, "gee, no wonder people don't take us metal heads very seriously." I hope, I REALLY hope, that this was intended as a joke by the band, because it really gives the band, and metal/Slayer fans in general the appearance of being extremely stupid. I wouldn't be surprised if some Bible thumping moron would use the quotes from these fans as evidence that music does bad things to people. That's the last thing we'd need.

Summary: Next Best Thing To Being At The Warfield In Person
Review: As older metal acts wimp out, and as the industry churns out new rap-metal products, Slayer is one of the few bands that sticks to their ideals. I don't particularly like the fan clips interspersed amongst the songs, but you can always click to the next chapter in the list.I thought that the playing was great -especially by Paul on drums. He is a heavy duty and precise drummer. Let's not devalue his contribution to Slayer! Tom does sound a little out of breath on "Seasons in the Abyss", but it's a live recording and it is not required to be flawless. If you need perfect silken singing, I hear that Barbara Streisand has a new album out.

Summary: Review from a fan who is not screaming SLAYER! like a moron
Review: First off, any live footage from Slayer is a feat to behold. Any time we get to see our metal heroes live is an amazing thing. The set list was very good, most will agree that they left out some of our favorites but there are others that we usually don't get to hear which is very cool. Most of us prefer Lombardo, who helped Slayer blast their way into our craniums, but Bostaph still does an amazing job at the skins. His skill and speed is nothing to be doubted. Remember kids, im a big fan so I'm very critical: Most importantly, Araya's voice is very hoarse and he sounds winded a lot. This must have been taped towards the end of the tour. The great opening Angel of Death scream is blown. But there is only so many times one can hit that high note night after night so let's give him credit. The fans rule section and the fans talking between songs gets old VERY quick. There is only so many times a person can stand a hundred sweaty dudes screaming "SLAYER!!" over and over. If anyone has seen them in person they can relate. Find other phrases or something else to tell the band. Here's one, say "hey man, killer show tonight" i guarantee you will get a response other than their backs towards you. Worked for me. Back to the band. They put on a great show all the time, this one just isn't the best one possible. Bostaph is great but this does not completely show his nor the band's complete talent. If this DVD was filmed towards the beginning of the tour it would be 100 times better. If you are looking for a live Slayer album, pick up Decade of Aggression. I know i will hear tons of crap from Slayer fans but this is how it is. Im still a huge fan and i know that they can produce better. This is a great find for hardcore fans but not the absolute best Slayer experience. Also you can't hear the crowd which we all know that we can be louder than the PA at times. So in Slayer we trust and please no "Dude Slayer rules!! F--- you!!"

Summary: Slayer doing what they do best
Review: Slayer in a club. What more could you ask for?

The setlist from this particular show gives a nice taste from the entire history of Slayer (I would have picked other songs from God Hates Us All, but oh well). This is the last hurrah for Paul Bostaph in Slayer, so the DVD definetely has some meaning in the history of Slayer.

The editing is interesting...the fan segments definetley showcase some different people. But its Slayer, so what do you expect?

Summary: Solid DVD
Review: The band sounded near perfect during this show. They played a good set, the guitar sounded great, and the drumming was good, but Tom's voice didn't really sound that good. He kinda sounded like a burnt out old dude, but he still rocked really hard. The fan interviews are funny too. My favorite was when they asked this one dude how Slayer makes him feel..He goes "When I listen to Slayer it makes me wanna rip that stupid light down..and then it makes me wanna take this painting that sucks and RIP IT DOWN!!" Good stuff..If you're a Slayer fan you won't be dissapointed by this.
