Summary: She raised the bar again!
Review: As a former participant in music recording, I bought a few of these DVDs to send to my producer friends to make sure they notice this example of excellence in their craft.

The absolute perfection of this production, "Try It On My Own," is what happens with synergy of the producing genius of Babyface, the magic of writers like Carol Bayer Sager, flawless engineering, captivating videography, and one of the world's greatest singers.

Again the bar has been raised, setting a new standard for other producers to gauge their work.

See if you recognize the clever lyric and melodic tie-in to one of Whitney's past megahits. It subconsciously creates familiarity with this song.

Along with her past monumental works, including "One Moment In Time," "Greatest Love of All," "I Will Always Love You," and "The Star Spangled Banner," I hope Whitney will keep these classy productions coming.

Summary: Simply Put, The Diva Is Back
Review: There is no doubt about Whitney Houston's career in this industry. It has had some bumps and some delights and joys that she has recieved from the music industry, and the African-American community. Still, it also gives her the ability to make some strong choices within her music, and her videos as well. There is no doubt about it, when it really comes to good music, a strong video has to match the mood as well.

This DVD single, features 2 music videos from Whitney Houston's album Just Whitney. The pair of videos seemed to be very fitting with the moods of each song, and the appeal to the storylines. The first video, Try It On My Own, is her latest video. The video was directed by David LaChapelle, who directed videos for Elton John, and Mariah Carey. This video is a little similar to a video by Jennifer Lopez called I'm Glad. Unlike the Milli Vanilli of Pop today, Jennifer Lopez, Whitney Houston showcases a parody of her unfortunate absentee tale, from the 2000 Oscars. Still, in this video, she looked a whole lot stronger than she ever looked in her videos for a long time. It also was another plus to see her have a ballad as a video, instead of something more Urban.

The second video, One Of Those Days, is a more relaxed, upbeat feel-good song. A song about getting rid of all your problems and troubles, like what Whitney went through the past few years. This video was directed by Kevin Bray, who directed several videos for Whitney including Heartbreak Hotel, My Love Is Your Love, and Fine. The Between The Sheets sampled song also hits close to home, because I think a lot of people could've used that song at that time, largely with what was going on in the world, including the so-called War with Iraq.

There is no doubt that there are very few music video DVD singles out these days, and Whitney Houston has one of them. It is just a shame that the video for Whatchulookinat wasn't issued. Personally, I think it could've made an enterance on here too, besides the special edition of Just Whitney. Still, for any Whitney Houston fan, this is truly a must to own.
