Summary: On the road with APB
Review: Live DVD's can be a bit tedious, and some like this one, are actually quite good.
This release follows APB from rehearsals, to on the road bus antics, interviews with fans waiting in line for a gig, and of course live peformances. The main live performance is taken from a gig in Oslo, whilst the rest of this DVD follows them around the world on their "Welcome To Earth Tour 2000", most of which is filmed in the US.
Live, APB present a fuller sound than their studio CDs, thanks to the addition of guitars. Most of the drums, and sequences are on a backing track. Whilst on stage the vocals, keyboards and guitars are live.
On a whole most of these live tracks come up really well, as compared to studio versions, my only fault is in the mixing. I felt the vocals could have been brought foward a little more.
The DVD slices between live tracks, and "on the road" behind the scenes. My only problem with this is, in some cases like "Starsign", the live track in interupted twice, with small pieces of goings on in rehearsals. This is annoying as "Starsign" should have been a highlight of this DVD.
It would have been nice to have a "live show feature only" on this DVD, so that this would not happen. Actually even it was just the live audio track on its own, would have been great.....now I have to buy the CD in order to get the show uninterrupted.
Despite this little piece of annoyance, this is a great DVD, with lots of backstage, on the road stuff, ...and the live performance. A must for APB fans who want to see lots of behind the scenes stuff.
Highlights include, "Kathy's Song", "Non-Stop Violence", and "Love Never Dies"...... oooh, and the 5 seconds of live VNV Nation.

Summary: very enjoyable
Review: Really well done DVD. The one thing to make it perfect would have been a way to play *just* the concert (beginning to end) without the commentary/behind the scenes stuff. All in all, a really great DVD none the less.

Summary: The CD sounds better
Review: The DVD is fine. Is fun to see one of your favorites bands behind the stage and playing. The problem is always the same with the Metropolis Records DVDs (except VNV Nation's Futureperfect) the sound could be better... I got the Audio CD of APBL2000 and it sounds really cool, mush better than the DVD.

Summary: New Tour Movie
Review: This band is execellent, and I am looking foward to the tour video/dvd--it should be amazing. I have heard a sample of the CD tracks, and they are a collection of Apop's finest.
