Summary: why is this not in the top 100?
Review: ..... because to date I find that so many music dvd's are disappointing. And this one is pretty damn fine. Lots of her greatest hits- however, my favourite tracks are #15 (Marvin Gaye's Trouble Man)and #16 (Nothing Can be Done). Mitchell comes over as genuinely enjoying the audience and doing the performance. Nobody can doubt she is mega talented. Audio quality- not too bad at all- (I've heard a lot lot worse- for instance the highly over-rated "Sessions at 54th Street" has some really bad recordings with virtually all of the sound coming out of the rear speakers- Uggghhh!). I just cannot understand the reader who said that the audio quality was totally inadequate because it could not get his woofer moving- this guy must have been watching too many Batman dvd's!

Summary: A sad swan song
Review: A one star performance, and generous at that. Actually I recieved my copy gratis, as the original purchaser, gave it to me in digust telling me to do with it as I would. In fact, he suggested that I throw it away after all attempts to conjure up a way of returning it were exhausted. The quality of the video and the audio, or the lack thereof have been discussed elswhere. The voice is simply not there. Perhaps diehards will find something of the old Joni Mitchell. Sadly, I suspect we have been left with an old Joni Mitchell. I would recommend an ENT consult, stat! Surely that rasp is diagnostic of something unpleasant. I also found the picture of her smoking on the cover, vulgar, and further evidence of her decrepitude. Please ASCAP and BMI up her royalties so that this great singer/songwriter of yore need not suffer further indignity, nor we the listening public her tuneless dirge.

Summary: A Treat for fans of Folk/Rock, Jazz & R&B
Review: After reading all of the reviews, I think that some reviewers must have an inferiour home theatre system, and /or live in the past. This is 1998 Joni. Not trying to be the cute blonde chick of thirty years ago, but as she is now. More mature, confident, and knowing how she wants to sound and look. I have thirt years of her music, and have enjoyed the progression all the way. This rates as one of my best DVDs. If you love Joni and dont live in the seventies, you should love this one.

Summary: A musical and visual treat
Review: Beautiful paintings, adoring fans, first-class jazz/pop musicians, and a fabulous variety of songs -- ranging from Why Do Fools Fall in Love to selections from Hejira, Joni's stunning masterpiece album. All that and funny stories too, with a surprise appearance by Graham Nash. Joni jams and proves that she remains a first-class singer on Trouble Man. Nobody even comes to close to this woman's musical versatility, ingenuity and creativity, and this peformance proves it. This is a must-have for any Joni fan, whether you prefer the early songs or her more recent explorations. Get it!

Summary: Classic, esoteric performance of the great one
Review: Because it hasn't appeared on this page yet, here's the setlist of songs that are featured on this DVD:

Tiger Bones * Big Yellow Taxi * Just Like This Train * Night Ride Home * Crazy Cries Of Love * Harry's House * Black Crow * Amelia * Hejira * Sex Kills * The Magdalene Laundries * Moon At The Window * Face Lift * Why Do Fools Fall In Love? * Trouble Man * Nothing Can Be Done * Song For Sharon * Woodstock * Dreamland

Everything is exquisite here: we've got Joni in rare form, an older and wiser version of the folk singer of the 60's and 70's. The supplemental players are first-rate, including Brian Blade on drums, Larry Klein (aka Joni's ex-husband) on bass, Mark Isham on trumpet, and Mark Leisz on additional guitars. The small, intimate theater is filled with multicolored couches, and the stage is a small circle, sized perfectly for this excellent evening of music. Highly recommended! If you're a fan, this is one not to miss.

Summary: If you love Joni, Buy It! You'll be glad you did.
Review: Forget about clear video! I'm very glad that I did not pay attention to the bad reviews of this video. If you are a Joni Mitchell fan, you need this. It is a warm, intimate, and playful look at Joni. The songs are excellent, the band is great. Her singing and playing are phenomenal. I will enjoy this for years!

Summary: Disappointed
Review: Have been extremely pleased with all of my DVD music videos up until now. Compared to James Taylor "Live at the Beacon Theater" or John Fogerty's "Premonition" to name just a couple, this is a total disappointment. It is if nobody involved with this video tried very hard, including Joni Mitchell. Although I have no idea if bootleg DVDs exist, I can only describe the audio and Video on this disc as "imagined bootleg quality".
