Review: Despite the fact that Preston Hubbard is not one of the original Thunderbirds, Keith Ferguson was the original bass player, the song line up and Hubbard's playing are very good. The only problem I found was with the actual recording, the musicians are responsible for making sure that the sound they are producing is nothing but the best. I am sure that the audience that attended this particular concert were blown away, just as I was when I caught the original Thunderbirds at the Club Lingerie in Los Angeles. Of course, the proficiency of the crew that backs the musicians will be reflected in the end product which is what everyone else who didn't catch the live show will end up seeing and hearing. The T-birds have always been good, unfortunately this recording leaves something to be desired.

Summary: Fabulous Kim and Jim
Review: I just bought this DVD recently and I must confess was very sceptical before seeing it, based on what I think is a cheesy cover, and also some of the reviews saying the sound wasn't very good.
I'm delighted to say that I had no sound problems with my copy, and that I really enjoyed it. Good song selection, and it took me back to one of my favorite concerts. This concert was recorded in 1985 in England, and I saw them in '87 in Winnipeg, Mb. Canada.
If you are a fan of the Jimmie Vaughan era Thinderbirds, this is definelty something to check out. Kim and Jim at the top of thier game.

Review: If you are looking for a 50s R&B sound, then this is the DVD for you. This concert was recorded here in England at the Camden Palace, London,April 29th,1985. It's the greatest live show I have ever seen on a disc or video, like Stevie Ray Vaughan's 'Live at the el Mocambo',it's nothing flash or pretencious like most modern bands that thrive on gimmicks, overblown publicity and video's,the real cause of all the bad music of today. Jimmie Vaughan is probably the greatest R&B guitarist of our generation,Anson Funderburgh comes pretty close too,and this concert rips through numbers like 'Cant tear it up enough', She's Tough, My Babe,Tuff Enough, and Jimmy's Song. Both picture and sound is 5 stars, and this is one of those concerts that you will never tire of,no matter how many times you watch it. I hope a DVD is released of The Fabulous Thunderbirds early concerts, before Dave Edmunds started making them sound like Rockpile.

Summary: Not bad at all...
Review: The Thunderbirds are one of my favorites going back to the early eighties. This DVD is not bad from a video aspect, especially on a progressive scan dvd player with component video out into a widescreen hdtv. The audio is 5.1 dolby - but limited in scope. You have to have some high current power and a ton of dsp's to bring out the music. Buttt, considering it was a small stage venue in 1985 it's not bad at all...

Review: This DVD got me ready to see the group, although they were all different except for Kim. Loved the DVD and the "new" group live too. Kim has changed in looks, no hair, but any thing the T-Birds do is great.
