Summary: Spellbinding!
Review: Absolutely one of the best hours you could spend in front of your TV with the stereo operating at full impact! Her sense of style and performance are highlighted here in the more contemplative songs as well as the more full tilt numbers. The tracks shot in Venice are unforgettable as is Annie's smouldering beauty (believe it!) which is revealed in progressive magnitude as the music reaches the chorus. A true Diva and she shows it here!

Summary: Amazing!
Review: Annie Lennox is amazing and this collection on DVD is fantastic.

I was thrilled to see that Walking on Broken Glass and Precious were both addes from the VHS version. Now if we could only ge them to do a version that includes Little Bird it would be perfect.

If you're a fan of Annie you won't be disappointed with this one!

Summary: The only diva!
Review: Annie Lennox's Diva album was truly one of the classic albums of the 90's. The Grammy Award-winning video companion was a perfect audio-visual creation that was emotive and stylish. This expanded version includes Walking On Broken Glass and a bonus track Remember. The latter, an instrumental track, is placed in the collection but not listed anyway until you play the disc. In so doing, the sequence of songs got messed up after Cold. Dropouts were rather frequent but otherwise this is a disc to have. Thankfully, the original had great sound and even though the promise of 5.1 surround sound was ultimaely not delivered in this shoddy DVD, it still sounds great. 5**** for the excellent music but 0* for the package and encoding.

Summary: Dissapointing edition of a great video album
Review: Annie Lennox's Grammy-award winning 1992 video album Diva has finally been released on DVD in a somewhat oddly amended format, with two bonus videos not on the original release (hence the "Totally" Diva name for this package).

The mastering job done on this release is marred by some pretty glaring defects. There are manhole-sized dropouts on the first video, "Why", that I don't recall on the VHS release. Although these dropouts may be on the original source material, I seriously doubt that. A copyright notice briefly flashes at the end of "Why" that I *know* wasn't on the VHS edition, so I think what we're seeing here is a dub, and one in poor condition at that.

Other videos on the album suffer from intermittent video noise, although I didn't notice any glaring dropouts outside of "Why". The video is virtually pixel-free, so at least they got something right. On the other hand, with a running time of under an hour, data compression probably wasn't much of a challenge for this release!

The first of two bonus videos for "Totally" Diva, "Precious" is weirdly inserted between two videos that appeared sequentially on the original Diva video album. Another video from the original album, for the instrumental track "Remember", isn't even *listed* on the DVD's cover, as it was on the VHS and laserdisc editions. Instead, "Remember" is inexplicably sandwiched into the beginning of another track, "Primitive". Dumb.

The other bonus video, and perhaps Annie's finest, brings up the rear. "Walking On Broken Glass" fortunately looks and sounds fantastic, and at this price is arguably reason enough to purchase the entire DVD. Not previously available for purchase in any format here in the US, I'm sure "Broken Glass" will be this disc's star attraction.

The audio is *not* "Remastered In 5.1 Surround Sound", as indicated by a sticker on the shrink-wrapped cover - another disappointment. Fortunately, the disc's standard PCM stereo sounds fantastic -- "Walking On Broken Glass" in particular. Another disappointment is this release's lack of the hysterically funny "Little Bird" video, one of Annie's most amusing, which really should have been included on this "Totally" Diva DVD release. Messing up the original Diva's video sequence doesn't make a lot of sense to me, either. The bonus videos could have simply been tacked on at (or nearer) the end.

It is great to see this fine collaboration between Lennox and director Sophie Mueller finally available on DVD, but it's a pity the studio didn't do a better job transferring it there. In spite of its numerous annoying little flaws, I highly recommend this release to those Annie fans who own a DVD player and don't already have a VHS copy of Diva to enjoy, and those in search of the "Walking On Broken Glass" or the rare "Precious" videos. Although imperfect, Totally Diva is an excellent value at the asking price, although I wish it had been handled with enough care to earn a full 5 stars . . .

Summary: buy it.
Review: annie's best solo album is DIVA. the video is amazingly what i was imagining when I heard DIVA. if you appreciate the "unique and creative" approach to life, then you will want this. IF YOU DON'T: DO NOT BUY THIS, IT'S TOO "DEEP" FOR YOU(?)

Summary: Genial, completo y redondo.

Summary: Annie Lennox - Totally Diva
Review: I did review this DVD as quite disappointing the first time around. Now that I actually own the item, and have watched it twice, I must say that it is actually an item worth having. I highly recommend Totally Diva to those who either love to collect DVDs, who love Annie or to those who killed their VHS edition of Diva. To those who reviewed this a "not really worth it" or "disappointing" DVD, too bad for you. Sorry to say, but even through the disappointment of not having the chance to see the video of "Little Bird", I am satisfied for now. Maybe some day Annie will lay claims to the idea of releasing it as a DVD single or something along that matter.

It's nice to have finally been able to see Annie "act" in her special video to "precious" and "Walking on broken glass". Those two songs are great, and reflect the more victorian genre of the DVD. Not to mention the whole 9 songs were not Victorian genre too, but those 2 songs are the best and most original.

I love the laid back feeling of "Primitive" and the slightly sad yet beautifully haunting video of "The Gift". "Why has always been a mystery to me. What does the video mean, when she is making herself up, yet she's really sad and depressed?

The little tidbits in between the songs are okay, but a bit weird too, especially the one with all of the "Totally Diva tracks' different Annie looks, right before "Keep Young and Beautiful".

To house the DVD in a hard plastic case was a good idea, but where is the liner book inside? I didn't get one. Maybe there wasn't one to begin with. Speaking of liner book, the case is a bit boring because there is no artsy interior to the case except for the disc itself. Strange.

Well, like the VHS edition, I will always treasure the DVD, because these songs in particular helped me through tough times for a long while. Thanks Annie for the music. Peace.

Hope my re-review helped you

Summary: left disappointed
Review: I have been a huge fan of the Eurythmics and Annie Lennox since the beginning of their career, long before the rest of the world discovered their greatness, so anything less than compliments from my lips (or fingrtips) is quite painful for me. I was thrilled to have a collection of her amazing videos, but I cannot get over the fact that "Walking On Broken Glass" and "Little Bird " were so obviously missing. I actually felt slightly angry that they were not included. I love all of Annie Lennox's creations, especially the "B-sides", so I was not just looking for the big hits, but this is close to an unforgivable void. I felt a bit cheated. (Please forgive me for saying this, Ms. Lennox, I still admire you).

Summary: A quite disappointed Annie fan
Review: I wondered if there was going to be a video of "Diva", when the cd came out. About 3 or 4 months later, there was. What a disappointment! Annie left out 2 videos of her best songs from the cd. "Little bird" and "Walking on broken glass" were not included. Because I love anything from Annie, I'm not disappointed enough to hold a grudge, though.

With the material on the video, I felt like I was short changed. There are too few songs on the video. What was Annie thinking? She should have left out the fill-ins between songs, therefore putting at least another song on for viewing. Annie has not only a remarkable voice, but she has original ideas, certainly needed for this video collection. If she wants to make money, she should stay with Dave Stewart to produce great vid collections.

As I said again, I don't hold a grudge over Annie, but I do recommend your buying the cd of "Diva" to the video. Did my review help you?

Summary: Totally Diva but Somewhat Disappointing
Review: One of my favorite music video compilations, Annie Lennox shines in a great selection of music videos. Be forewarned, while the sticker on the outside of the box touts a "remastered 5.1 mix", it is purely a linear PCM mix, which sounds fine, but ultimately disappoints due to creating expectations that are never met. I was somewhat disappointed in the video transfer too. It's not bad, but I have the Japanese import Laserdisc, and the color and sound are much better on the LD than on this DVD. However, this DVD does support more detail in every frame, and for the price, don't hesitate to buy it. A word to BMG....It's a shame that mislabelings and a lack of an insert plague this release, as they do with the Eurythmics Greatest Hits on DVD, (which, by the way, has the best video transfer that the Greatest Hits video compilation has ever seen!) Is there any sort of quality control that goes into your releases? I felt cheated as a consumer with mislabeling, but happy to finally have Annie and the Eurythmics Greatest Hits on DVD. I hope future BMG releases are taken a bit more seriously within BMG.....
