Summary: He's best with a full band, playing "that old six-string"!!
Review: Set at the historic Slane Castle outside Ireland's Dublin, Bryan Adams played on August 26th 2000 for 65.000 fans.

It's the first live-concert on DVD for the now 43 year old Canadian rocker, and was filmed during his 1998-2002 trio-era, with himself on bass instead of the usual Stratocaster six-string and Tommy Mandel on keyboards and Dave Taylor on bass, that left Adams with a limited number of songs to play. With only Mickey Curry on drums and Keith Scott on guitar they played many of the early nineties heavy-rockers and power ballads half-semi eletric and many weren't even performed, though Adams played others on acostic guitar.

So what about the DVD itself? Beside the concert fine extras are a nice interview with Adams and the two bandmembers, a prior-to the concert preview and nice picture gallery thoughout Adams' career...

The crowd is pretty upbeat and show no matter the size, and year we have - Adams is still popular among young aswell as older people all over the globe. A nice concert, but could've been much - and I mean much more in every musical aspect; again attributed by the trio-only performance; - although Davy Spillane on Irish flute joins Adams for two songs, Chicane on "Don't Give Up" and "Cloud Number Nine" and Mel C on "When You're Gone" it still makes an older fan like myself feel somewhat bored or should I be totally frank and say; quite empty and unfulfilled...

If you've seen Adams on one of his worldwide tours throughout 1980 to 1998, you will know, like the fans who 'just' enjoy Adams' record on the stereo, that you get a real rock concert with Adams on guitar, keyboards and a full band.. Those sure were fine days.

But, to end this review with good news; I can inform to those who don't know it yet - that Adams is back on guitar touring with a full band, consisiting of Gary Breit on keyboards and also new bass-player; Norm Fisher - who replaces Tom Mandel and Dave Taylor, who retired from the band back in 1998 maybe because they were (at that time) the only band-members with children.

So, go out there and buy a ticket to the world's greatest performer next time he's in your neighbourhood!! It's simply great, rocking and not like anything else you've ever seen!
Adams even beats legendary live-performing bands/artists like the great Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Tina Turner and Def Leppard.

Summary: AWESOME!
Review: That one word is really all that needs to be said. If you're a Bryan Adams fan, this is a must own DVD. It's amazing how he can go from an exhilarating version of "It's Only Love' into the most beautiful rendition of "I Do It For You" that I've ever heard! The small band doesn't hold him back at all; the songs sound better than ever.

Summary: BUYER BEWARE!!
Review: There are 3 things wrong with this DVD. #1) Bryan is playing bass??WHY?? He is a great guitar player and is sorely missed here. When the only guitar player he has cuts into a lead the entire bottom end and momentum of the song cease to exist. There is no rhythm to carry the tune. PS-Bryan is a great musician but the bass is not his strong point. #2)This concert is shot like one big long music video, not a concert with its quick, short, black and white to color shots along with the shots of the crowd all itertwined. If you want to see the way concert footage should look, check out "Peter Frampton Live From Detroit" or "Psycedelic Furs Live From The House Of Blues". #3) Where are all his hits? I realize that he has to please everyone but c'mon, where's Diana, Take Me Back, This Time. etc...? He had plenty of room on here to play those, instead of some of the other "in one ear and out the other" newer songs of his. PLEASE dont get me wrong I am a BA fan, but I am also a fan of my money and I wish I had it back on this one.

Summary: I'VE WAITED A LONG TIME FOR THIS!
Review: This DVD is a must for any music fan and a must-must for any BA fan. I have to disagree with some critics who claim that there are too many "empty spaces" due to the lack of band members. BA has produced a newer raw sound to his live music as a three piece in the last two years and he plays bass very well. Outstanding tracks in my opinion are "Into the Fire" and "Back to You" but every track is the dogs! The DVD captures the atmosphere well but I just wish they could have made a video of BA at Wembley '96 - if they had - five stars would not have been enough! Buy this and wake up the neighbours.

Summary: Rock on Bryan!!
Review: This guy seems to get better and better.Great improvisations with his songs...Summer of '69,Run to you etc.Someone in an earlier review mentioned there is no keyboard ,and Bryan plays a bass guitar.I did not find any flaws with the music that finally emerges,in fact this DVD sounds really great ,great music and good pictures. The picture shifts to black and white frequently, this might be an irritant. This is a great concert.Bryan really can rock!!

Summary: Great DVD!
Review: This is a great DVD, it has Bryan at his best. There are songs from almost every album. The majority of the songs are fast and upbeat, and the slow songs are done beautifully. Special guests are Davy Spillane, Mel C. and Nick (Chicane), it even has the audience member that Bryan pulls up to sing with him and Mel. The interviews are great, and the 360 camera puts everything into a different perspective. This is a must have dvd, I hope Bryan does more like this soon!!
