Summary: excellent! but....
Review: this dvd is great! i've watched it repeatedly. the only major flaw is, where the heck is the rest of it?... who decided to leave out so much great stuff? the picture is great. the sound is great. the band was tight. well worth the money. i wanted to give it one more star but, the lack of material prevents me. there are a couple of other small flaws, but nothing that really takes away from the overall viewing enjoyment. if your a queensryche fan at all, you will find this dvd most entertaining, and worthy.....

Review: This is a great concert DVD. The picture quality and sound are fantastic. Not every song from the CD is on the DVD but there are plenty of Ryche classics to make it well worth picking up. If your a Ryche fan I would recommend this DVD for your collection.

Summary: Good DVD - stop complaining
Review: This is a very good show. The sound is absolutely great, set list is very good. Ok, I admit Michael Wilton sometimes seems bored, and Kelly Gray is not a great replacement for DeGarmo, but everything works fine.

I can't believe people say they don't understand "Why did they leave so many songs out of the DVD, songs that are in the double CD?" Come on, what are you, naive people? Of course they do that trying desperately that hardcore fans will buy BOTH the DVD and the CD! That's why they put more songs in the Cd, of course! If the number of the songs were the same, people would not fall for this trap. The songs taken out of the DVD serve as a bait for people buy the damned CD.

As for people complaining that they are getting old, fat or both, what do you expect?! It has been ten years since LIve Crime, for Christ's sake! Anlyse the DVD for what it is: a professional release, with good sound, good performances, GOOD MUSIC and run of the mill bonus material. That's it.

Review: This is a very well made dvd, the sound is perfect, and these guys are in thier top form. I wish they could have included some of thier older stuff, even if it was not live and just videos. This is still a very intense straight up concert video. It would have been nice if they included some songs done in different venues, but this is nit picking. All in all its a great concert dvd!

Summary: The storm has blown ashore
Review: This is my first online review so take it for what it is worth. I am an ardant Queensryche fan. I have loved everything in their body of work (Rage for Order was the weakest effort IMHO-to gauge my taste). I purchased this DVD with utter anticipation. Having seen the Livecrime video in 1991 and realizing that this band had near unrivaled stage presence and presentation I was eager to view that same power from my favorite Prog Rock band. Unfortunately, while receiving an excellent retrospective of the breadth of their career, Evolution presents a mere shell of the band that once was. The absence of Chris DeGarmo is noticable if not damning. Having not seen Queensryche since his departure, I had a sense of watching Bewitched after they switched Darren's, or better yet, the Dukes of Hazzard without Bo and Luke. I also saw a tired, balding band. I was reminded of father time and his relentless pursuit of us all watching the Ryche flaccidly belt out the music that changed my taste and perspective. Geoff Tate still gets it done as well as anyone, but it seemed he had to reach deeper for the power in his voice. Wilton seemed bored and Rockenfield seemed bald. The music sounded fine, but the stage presence lacked the fire of their youth. The most noticable casualty of age was Mary, who makes a brief appearance at the crescendo of Suite Sister Mary. She seemed to warble a full octive off her range of a decade ago, and as the highlight of the show, this set the perfect capstone summarizing this performance. An old band playing old song...still the greatest band around, but without a young energetic audience to appreciate the genius. This video made me aware of my mortality. I realized my age as I watched my heroes from my teen years looking like the dad at my friends house where we listened to the Ryche. It was evident that the Queensryche fan base has maintained a particular age cohort and has not expanded to include the youth of today, a thirtysomething crowd pumped tired fists into the air reminescing collectively about glory days of this fortysomething band. I was saddened that this great band is relegated to playing shrunken venues for inflated ticket prices. I came to the realization that Queensryche is a niche band that I love. They will never command the cross generational support of my other favorite band, Pink Floyd, nor will they age as gracefully. If you are seeking the peak of the Ryche pass on this and go for the Livecrime DVD. If you are devoted, this is a good DVD because it presents Queensryche as they are, a brilliant band victimized by the corporate trendiness of the 1990's. The best part of the DVD is the interview section that provides interesting insights into each member of the band. The behind the scenes footage is basically worthless. The music is great but Queensryche is a band that is much better to hear than to see these days. They still are among the best around in relation to the music they produce, but to remember Ryche at their best....1991 Madison, Wisconsin is that moment to be preserved in time....not a decade later in Live: Evolution.

Summary: RYCHING DVD! BUT....
Review: Why wasn't the whole entire concert on it? And where are the hidden extras? These were the only questions I have for this release. But dispite the minor dissapointments it ROCKS! When I first recieved it and loaded it in, the first song I wanted to view was Suite Sister Mary (Operation Mind Crime)Because I wanted to see Pamela Moore and Geoff Tate togther. Wow, I was amazed! This song always makes the hairs on my body rise because of the emotional power of the two singers. And it is even more exciting to see it live in my living room on my big screen tv with the home theater system hooked up. Now I'm looking forward to the rerelease of Live Crime on DVD. This is a great band without a doubt. I will be watching this dvd till it runs out SCREAMING IN DIGITAL!
