Summary: Good live show, great DVD features, but singing is flat
Review: I really like the Cranberries and I picked this DVD up because I wanted to see how they sounded like "live" especially after hearing their greatest hits studio CD. The band here goes through most of their greatest hits (spanning through all 5 of their CDs) "Dreams," "Linger," "Zombie," "Ode to My Family," "Animal Instinct," "You and Me," "Just My Imagination" etc. and they stick closely to the studio versions. Overall, I felt the quality of the band playing (guitar, bass, drums) was up to par and they had really good presence; however, Dolores' singing was often flat, which I found to be pretty disappointing. The worst song was the last one, "Dreams," where Dolores O' Riordan sings way off pitch in the beginning notes, and then she has to make adjustments to get on the right key. If you don't mind the lead singer singing flat, then you would enjoy this live performance.

The DVD features however were great. It includes a new documentary "Wake up and smell the Coffee," which traces the development of the band from their beginnings to their latest CD "Wake Up and Smell the Coffee." Also included are some of the music videos from the "Bury the Hatchet" CD. In addition, they included several unplugged performances from 1996 and a rare performance of the song "How." I hope in the future they would select a better live performance to match with the outstanding DVD features.

Summary: This is how DVD is done!
Review: I won't add to what others have said with respect to the content. I just wanted to say that this is the best concert DVD I have. Layout, content, both a full live concert, 5 videos, a documentary, and more.
I want all the bands I like to watch this DVD and learn how it's done. This DVD is the benchmark for music/band DVDs.

Summary: go get it
Review: I'm writing to tell you about "Cranberries- Beneath the Skin- Live in Paris 2." I dunno if you loves her like I loves her, but Dolores really does it for me. This DVD rocks- being a concert it's kind of a greatest hits line-up, but i could watch her sing "Ode to My Family" a million times.

It's brilliant, and not just because Dolores is so adorable- the songs are great. I love her voice- their lyrics are a bit political (nah, a political Irish band? what is this, Bizarro planet?) but interestingly, I find myself agreeing with most of their veiws, so it dosen't grate on me like U2 can sometimes do. darn liberals.

Technically, it's very good- an excellent filming of an even more excellent concert. The sound is awesome in 5.1 DTS, the crowd never overpowers (darn french), and they stress that none of it was 'looped' (DVD lingo for music dubbed back in, fyi) and it's really amazing that that cute little gal can belt it out like she does.

The menus and features are great, you can veiw fullscreen or a nice layout with scrolling lyrics (although in lyric mode she's harder to adore.) Apparently, it's important to get volume 2- the first edition was not put together well as a DVD... poor navigation, etc. This edition has a sort of steel-grey background with an iceberg on the cover. There's also some great fan stuff, extra videos, wallpaper, documentary.

Pick it up if you like them at all. If you only like them a little, I expect it'll make you like them more. I was happy to have spent the $20.

Summary: One of the best live performances recorded
Review: I've been to a couple cranberries' concerts and gets spine chill every time. It's simply amazing to have this feeling while watching the DVD version of their paris concert. My favorite tracks are "pretty", "linger", "zombie", "dreams", and my all time favorite "dying in the sun"

Summary: Concert in your own living room... whenever!
Review: If you are a Cranberries fan and have a DVD player then I can't think of a reason you don't own this DVD. Its a totally new experience for me, almost like having a concert in your living room at any given day. The sound quality is really awesome and pays off to have good Sony speakers.

The DVD also contains really cool interviews with the band members where they talk about songs and how they came about to produce them... and how they don't like playing live some of the older songs !! Well just be glad that they still play Linger...

The DVD contains lots of my favorite tracks. I just wish the Cranberries concert we went to see in San Francisco was as energetic (audience-wise)as the one in Paris!

All in all, a must for Cranberries fan.

Summary: Simply Amazing
Review: If you've got a good system, enabling you to fully use Dolby 5.1 sound to it's highest potential, then this is a must have for your collection. This is no short concert either, Delores is noticeably tired by the end, but only because of the outstanding performance. I would have given anything to be at this show. Music is my passion, and I have never been more pleased with any purchase, and only equally pleased by Sarah McLachlan's Mirror Ball DVD, and perhaps the Corr's live DVD effort.

Any Cranberries fan, or quality music fan in general owes it to themselves to obtain this DVD.

Summary: You WILL want to catch them live....
Review: My wife and I have been fans of The Cranberries since we heard "Dreams" during an episode of "My So-Called Life." My wife called that the "swirly song" since it featured Claire Danes staring into the air with teen angst while the camera "circled" around her. Later, the Irish tourist board featured a vacation film showing someone on the Carrick-a-rede salmon bridge in Northern Ireland (same song, same camera effect). We ended up touring Ireland a few years ago, and made a point to see the bridge for ourselves.

My point is that not only does this band succeed in conveying meaningful social commentary, but they also provide atmospheric tones that transcend the lyrics. Watching them live on this DVD reinforces this effect all the more.

Dolores is simply mesmerizing! The sound quality (on my surround system at least) is fantastic and the camera angles are subtle but not dull, like some concert footage.

Summary: Dolores, I Love Your Voice !!!
Review: OK this DVD simply rocks. I'm not the biggest Cranberries-fan. In fact I only own their first album and that's it. I bought this DVD because I love Dolores's voice and I love live concerts on DVD. Plus this DVD was on sale and MAN was this a good buy!!!

The songs are all good... maybe with the exception of the cover version of "Go Your Own Way". I didn't like it that much, they could have picked a better song to cover. I rather would have liked another of their great songs (like "How") instead of that one. This brings me to another great thing of this DVD and those are the extra's. No shortage there. Some extra's are better than others but the live performances and interviews are great. Especially the live performance of "How" (yes it's on there) is great. The moves with the guitar are just FUN to watch.

The reason I don't have a lot/all of their albums is that musically I don't think they are all that. Many of the songs sound alike BUT this is overcompensated by the voice of O'Riordan and it sounds GREAT live!!! Buy this DVD!!!

Oh yeah one of my biggest complains are the interactive menu's. It takes too long before you can pick what you want to see!!!
