Summary: Great idea but low creativity
Review: The DVD release of Blondie videos is anti-climatic affair in itself and unfortunately it is not like the comprehensive "Complete Picture" which includes Deborah Harry's solo work as well. If that gets a DVD release, then the world of Blondie is truly justified for the new century. Seek the later compilation instead. Heads should roll in EMI for this travesty!

Summary: A Bit Dated But Alot Of Fun
Review: The videos are mostly performace videos that show Blondie performing in front of a camera. Okay so Debbie doesn't move that well and yes it is true that these videos are a bit hokey but for a Blondie fan they are pure gold. In this collection which by the way was already issued for the most part on the Best Of Blondie video in the early 80's. The only annoying thing about this video is that guy in the taxicab between videos. The songs are classics and to any Blondie fan they are worth collecting.

Summary: good to have on dvd,but not much else
Review: This collection of blondie music videos would be fitting, if wasn't such a lackluster job at creating it.in what attemps to be ripped from the best of blondie vhs of the 1980's seems to do it well, at this go-around, as it contains all the previous videos that were included, but slapping a greats hits on it and onclude a few bonus songs that were taken from the eat to the beat video and the hunter abulm. Pretty cheesy and a bad marketing ploy at that. While it is nice to have the best of blondie, it would have been better to include the complete collection of every music video the group made.while the complete pictute took advantage of this, and include Debbie harrys solo efforts, it managed to a more mere collection of videos worth it. While the best of blondie is good, I wished they would have re-mastered it,included some interviews with the band, and edited out the cab driver driving around, which attends to get annoying, and plot wise, has little to do,leading up to show videos, and driving around.
This is a mere dissapointment, because the dvd format offers much more, and it doesn't. for emi to pull this on a hardcore fan, and it is just a repackaged product, why not just labeled as it was" the best of blondie".
While the marketing for this product was terrible. It is nice to have it on dvd, while it could have some more improvements. Maybe someday they will release a more comprehensive collection to rival this. But since this is the official product of the groups work, it is satisfying.

Summary: For Real Blondie Fans
Review: This DVD contains 16 video tracks from Blondie. Most of them are "studio" tracks. The first ones doesn't give a good picture. "X Offender" and "In the Flesh" are like all the videos in 70's. They are in the studio and play. So are the rest of the material. Finally there's some songs "Heart of Glass" which is played in the disco, "Union City Blue" which is played on the dock. "Dreamning" is played live. The bonus tracks are probably better than the real material. "Island of the Lost Soul" isn't their greatest song but the video is the best they have done. There's Blondie in the island when the lost souls play instruments. "The Hardest Part" is also a good track although played in a studio. Deborah has dark hair and very cool black clothes too. "Maria" is a great video, modern.

Standout tracks: Island of Lost Souls, (I'm Always touched by Your) Presence, Dear, Hanging on the Telephone

Summary: Blondie classics
Review: While happy that the Blondie video's are available on dvd in 5.1 digital, this DVD reminds me of how far video's have come. With the exception of the later videos in Blondie's career they are mostly rough TV spots and live performances. The format of the DVD could have been done better, leave out the annoying "artsy" video of N.Y. city and the cab driver guy in a bar in between video's. Also, when you select to play individual video's from the main menu they are cut short by inncorrect track cuing. They play correctly when you chose the "play all" selection though. Bonus material is lacking, Only Island of Lost souls video and Maria from their last album, should have included Nothing is Real But the Girl video also.

Summary: Great DVD, Old Videos.
Review: While some have complained about the quality of the videos, I think that we need to keep in mind that these were made when there was no real thought of them ever actually MEANING anything. The quality, in other words, was bad to start with. "The Tide Is High", for instance, seems to have been shot on an old "Super 8", and not very well at that. I doubt that there's very much there that CAN be remastered.

In any case this is a great DVD, not only for Blondie (or just Debbie Harry) fans, but for anyone interested in the evolution of music in general. Blondie was one of the first punk bands (yep, short but true), one of the first to add Carribean beats to rock, and one of the first New Wave bands. They also had the FIRST "rap" hit song with "Rapture", a really bad rap song, and a horrible video, but firmly endorsed by the REAL rap crowd, as evidenced by the presence in the video of Grandmaster Flash and Fab 5 Freddy, and graced by a rare appearance by Jean Michel Basquiat.

For those too young to have seen Blondie, and Debbie Harry, in their prime, this is a great DVD. They were an all-too-short-lived group, but one who seemed to be in on EVERYTHING happening at the time. AND Debbie Harry is evidenced, in these videos as a woman who DESERVED to be called "The Sexiest Woman Alive".

This one is worth the money, just don't expect CGI effects. Instead expect great, innovative (at the time) music, and one of the most beautiful women in music - EVER!

Summary: Blondie's videos finally on DVD!
Review: With the release of Blondie's Greatest Video Hits this marks the first time that a collection of Blondie videos are released on DVD. This DVD is basically The Best Of Blondie with 3 bonus tracks. First off the sound(5.1) and picture are tremendous and this brings out more music than what was previously released on the cd versions of the songs. This is the list of videos:
1)In The Flesh
2)X Offender
3)Denis(The FACE is too gorgeous!)
4)Detroit 442
5)(I'm Always Touched By Your)Presence,Dear
6)Picture This
7)Hanging On The Telephone
8)Heart Of Glass
9)Dreaming
10)Union City Blue
11)Atomic
12)The Tide Is High
13)Rapture
Bonus Videos----
14)The Hardest Part
15)Island Of Lost Souls
16)Maria

A great collection of hits but my only gripe with this DVD is that a DVD can hold 2 or 3 hours or more- then where are the other videos from the Eat To The Beat collection or Nothing is Real But The Girl or even the remix videos from 1995 of Atomic and Heart Of Glass?!? Oh well buy and watch the face of the most beautiful woman God has ever put on the earth.Essential stuff!
