Rating: Summary: SHE IS INDEED "THE BEST OF THE BEST" Review: Shirley Bassey's performance on this DVD proves time and time again that she is the ultimate Diva. I have listened to many female singers and this lady truly deserves the title of Diva! From the first song she sings onstage to the very last song, she captured my undivided attention with the majesty of her voice, her artistry, and poise. This DVD is a must-have for all fans who love Shirley. Her performance on this DVD proves that she is indeed "THE BEST OF THE BEST"!
Rating: Summary: The Incomparable Bassey Style Review: Shirley breezed by 60 with panache and elan, to continue wowing her audiences worldwide for her fifth career decade. This DVD shows off what so many have known all along, this woman has a voice to behold, and inordinate style to deliver it. She is unique, camp, brash, and all her own. Pounding through her hits like "Goldfinger," "Kiss Me Honey, Honey, Kiss Me," "Never, Never, Never", "Big Spender", "Something", and more, she claims each song as her own as only Shirley can. This grandma is not staying home making apple pie, that's for sure. The audience is eating out of the palm of her wildly expressive hands. Lithe, in an outrageously revealing gown, she gives this show the Bassey works -- flirting and triumphant -- right down to her signature encore swathed in an implausible coat of feathers and silver lame.If you're a fan: DO NOT MISS THIS ONE. If you're a novice: Welcome to the Bassey experience. What you see here is just a soupcon of being at her live concert, but she'll blow you away anyway.
Rating: Summary: Bassey at her BEST Review: Since videos are so rare of Shirley Bassey (especially in the United States) this video is a must for all Bassey fans. Live in concert- this shows Bassey at her BEST.Most of the songs are ones she has sung for years- and shows why she is still in demand. The other part of the video is a private party hosted by Miss Bassey - which I found rather boring.I would have much rather heard Miss Bassey sing rather than see her at a dinner talking. For all die-hard Bassey fans this IS A MUST. You will NOT BE SORRY
Rating: Summary: Great DVD. Review: This is a great DVD, well done, and classic Shirley Bassey. However if you are looking for something a bit different I would like to suggest Superstars of Love, which they are calling Super Estrellas Del Amor. It features Shirley Bassey, Matt Monro and Demis Rouss. It has 6 Bassey Live concert hits on the DVD (in English), and 5 Spanish hits on the CD, plus you also get Matt Monro and Demis Roussos. I will certainly not sell or trade the Divas are Forever DVD, but I seem to watch the Super Estrellas Del Amor more often and listen to the CD. Why, I do not know, since I do not speak spanish, but the CD just sounds great!
Rating: Summary: Shirley is Forever Review: This is a reasonably good concert, although I was at her 60th birthday concert (at the same time this concert was taped) and it was much better. That should have been released on DVD. The interruption of the behind the scenes material is obtrusive, and could have been refined to a separate section of the disc - or even placed on side B. It is inextricable to me why this is the only representative of Shirley on DVD. This disc is all very well, but why not have some complete (unedited) concert releases, or the BBC TV series from the 1970s? This is a good start, but Shirley's artistry could, and should, be much better represented in this medium.
Rating: Summary: Dame Bassey Does It Again With A Fun & Memorable Performance Review: This is an EXCELLENT DVD, and an excellent example of the quintessential Shirley Bassey. She proves once again that she's the best female vocalist in the last 50 years. Miss Bassey looks physically fit in the video, and much younger than her years. (She's 60 in this video) She's energetic and playful, and her voice just keeps getting better. When you see her do "Big Spender", "Kiss Me Honey Honey Kiss Me", and hear her belt out "I Am What I Am", you realize that Dame Bassey is one grandmother that ISN'T sitting at home knitting and baking cookies! I highly recommend this video for people that are just becoming familiar with Shirley Basseys phenominal talent, and for collectors as well. There's also a lot of behind the scenes extras, and the making of the "History Repeating" music video with the Propellerheads.

Rating: Summary: Shirley Rocks! Review: This Spectacular Shirley Bassey Concert was filmed in Belgium, Antwerp. The Diva performs a number of her Greatest Songs Live and of course she parades out all her grandeur & passion. Her voice is powerful and her own rendition of "I Want To Know What Love Is?" is emotional. Bonus features on this DVD show Shirley's tour, a variety of parties (one of them being hosted by Ivana Trump), and then we jump to some rehearsals and the making of the music video "History Repeating". There are lots of funny moments here and there, you'll surely enjoy. Including a few, up close and personal interviews with the artist, about her work and life. Enjoy the Glamour & Glitz from the one and only... Shirley Bassey!
