Summary: Scorps are still Rockin'!
Review: 'Moment of Glory Live' is an excellent video. It is a great showing of how incredile the Scorpions are. It shows their talent for performing live, as well as their magnificent song writing skills. The Scorpions are, by far, the absolute best band in the world. They should be very proud. Review: An absolutely beautiful composition of music and video.This is something for the serious Scorpions fans out there. It represents a huge accomplishment and is worthy of praise. Who ever thought the older generation would be listening to the Scorpions? In this project they involve children and several other vocal musicians in a more whole effort. It's obvious what kind of quality a symphony can add to the musical spectrum, and yet it's so good to see these reknowned orchestra musicians melding their notes with those played by Jabbs and Schenker. It is uncanny how well that very thing occurs. Everyone has a smile on their face and is enjoying the performance - band, audience, and orchestra. The best part of the DVD is the multi-song medley ending with Dynamite. This is the pinnacle of the performance in my opinion. Honestly I can say I was never really a fan of orchestra as a whole - probably because I wasn't interested in the individual music peices. But this medley composition is one of the most beautiful scores I have heard - you just need to hear these orchestra professionals do their thing. If you are wondering if it has enough energy to keep you listening, it does. Klaus' voice is still the same, clear as a bell. Schenker and Jabbs play with energy and happiness and euphoria. Rickerman is low key but is having a good time. And then there is Kottak. I must admit originally I was sad when Rarebell left. I still am. But Kottak has stolen the show with what sounds like an arsenal of fills and energy Rarebell left out. Not only is Kottak good, he seems, oddly, to fit. Just listen to the fills in the medley. The camera footage is great and pans around enough so you get to see all of the musicians, audience, etc. There are some close-ups of the guitar solos and picking. They also mounted a camera by Kottak's ride cymbal, which allows viewing of the drums and drummer. I do have one or two issues about the project. First, I don't know how I feel about Klaus not singing BIG CITY NIGHTS, giving it to the new Genesis lead singer. Sweep that one under the rug. Second, the girl Klaus duets with on YOU AND I needs to button-up her outfit. In that setting the raciness just doesn't fit. It seems oxymoronic to bring out the children and old folks and then allow herself to hang out of her ... outfit. She should have been in an elegant dress, in my opinion. Thanks to the Scorpions for a fresh project.

Nobody but nobody is Klaus, and this guy proves it. During the encore at the end of the performance, this Ray Wilson has no part and nothing to do and just stands around holding the mic and looking way out of place. Klaus needs to always sing lead and let "guests" sing supportive parts. Second, Lyn Liechty, the girl Klaus duets with on YOU AND I needs to button-up her outfit. She is very beautiful and has an equally beautiful voice, which works excellent with the voice of Klaus in the duet. But in that setting the raciness just doesn't fit. It seems oxymoronic to bring out the children and old folks and then allow herself to hang out of her ... outfit. What a distraction. And speaking of distractions, Klaus ends up with lipstick on his cheek, perhaps after the duet. The lipstick is evident throughout the remainder of the performance and looks really tacky. Please somebody edit the video and get rid of it.... I think Schenker's guitar is too quiet and gets lost in the music a little too much as well. Overall, I've watched it more than a dozen times and love it though, except for the things I mentioned. I've been a fan a long time, from the heavy stuff to the mid 90's stuff to Eye to Eye. I love the heavy stuff but love this too. It's fresh and new and mature music. And yet the medley gives me chills because of how energetic, powerful, and accomplished it is. The only thing I can ask for now is another studio album and for all the old, live performances to start appearing on DVD.

Summary: Great mix of classical and rock!
Review: Excellent DVD. Claus Maine sings great in this superb mix of classical music and rock. Just one thing is wrong: not 5.1 mix, is 5.0; that bass is missing, really bad thing, but I still give it 5 stars for the music itself.

Review: Except for Kalus Meine's off-key whistle on "Winds of Change," the concert is outstanding overall. I just hope classic rock bands and philharmonic orchestras the world over continue to collaborate and do crossover projects. I love music in any form!

Summary: Scorpions-Moment of Glory DVD
Review: Having been a long time Scorpions fan, I was eager to watch their new DVD release-Moment of Glory. Unfortunately, the live concert performance with the Berlin Philharmonic does not live up to its ambitious title. Though the video and sound quality on the DVD is superb, the Scorpions have lost their sting. Over embelished arrangements along with sub par guests, make this DVD "Moment of Disappointment."

Summary: Great sounding - poor performance
Review: I used to love The Scorpions. However, their recent works are poor. This DVD sounds great in DD and in DTS, but Scorpions lowered the songs tune 1/2 step. I don't like it because it is not being faithful to what was originally recorded by the band. Great songs such as Dynamyte, He's a woman she's a man, are part of an instrumental medley with no vocals and no guitar soloing. The members attitude is very weak and the "Moment of Glory" song sucks big time ! Buy it only if you are a big big fan of them.
