Summary: It's RCA's Fault!
Review: First of all, there would of been more of The Strokes and their music if it were approved by their awful major label RCA Records. Anyone on here who knows anything about major labels would know that once the band is on a label everything has to go through them, which costs a lot of money. Because of this a small indie documentary would not have been able to be made. I give the company credit for trying to tell the real story the best they could without RCA'a approval. Second of all, anyone who knows the real story how The Strokes were started would know there are other people in the film that have credibility besides the producer......how about the person that introduced then to their producer, manager and booked, promoted and created a massive buzz on them before they got big....Kerri of KerriBlack Promotions (www.kerriblackpromotions.com) It takes a lot of work from many before a major label notices a small local indie band and Kerri worked hard on getting this band noticed. THIS documentary was just trying to tell the real story before any of you ever heard of them. Give the film some credit!

Summary: Waste of time, money, & plastic
Review: Holy cow, this DVD is awful! First off, there is absolutely NO music by the Strokes on this DVD. The band was not involved in any way regarding the production of this "documentary". Instead, you get stock photos of the band and music played by half-rate house musicians. Furthermore, there are no interviews with the Strokes. The Strokes producer is interviewed, which is fairly enlightening. The rest of the interviewees seemed to be a bunch of spares with little or nothing to say. I suppose the producers of this drivel were trying to add a touch of class by using a narrator with a British accent. Instead, it comes off trite and contrived.

I am a huge Strokes fan, and I would definately like to see a REAL documentary about them - one including actual interviews with the Strokes, and some of their music. Instead, this DVD just seems like a rush job to cash in on the band's recent success. No wonder this DVD is unauthorized - who would authorize something this bad? Save your money and wait for something better!

Summary: Not so good
Review: I understand this people were trying to do something interesting and yes they should get some credit for at least being bothered but I would not consider it a documentary for it is of very low quality and it seems more like a highschool student's project than something that can actually come out for the puclic. If they were trying to do something for The Strokes, after buying this (everyone makes mistakes) I think the best thing to do for your favourite artist is to buy their album and go see them play, after all music is what it's all about.

Summary: DON'T DO IT!!!!
Review: this dvd is the most miserable, pathetic, awful, horrendous, diguisting, wretched, atrocious, cheap, god-awful, fallacious, dreadful, generally BAD dvd you will ever see in your life... for a little bit i actually forgot it was about the strokes, then i think i MIGHT have seen a picture of them... doubt it though.... and that reminded me. The point is, this has no music by the strokes, no interviews with them, nothing.... only a picture or two. Well, just don't buy it, save your money and by their cd... it's 18,000 times better.

i'm a big strokes fan and this was such a let down, don't let yourself get bummed out by this mistake as well
