Summary: This is a Joke.
Review: Forgive me here but VH! always puts bad music on, This show just looked more like something that reject singers whom no one listens too anymore just turned out so that they can say that they made a new album together. It's wrong of course, and why not simplely do these songs at a recording studio and not give VH! a change to all make us buy a new CD of music we do not want.

Summary: Stunning experience
Review: A perfect example of a live-experience you can't describe in words. Whitney Houston, solo, is an incredible experience whether you like her or not. The best Live-DVD with very good sound quality. Played on a very good DTS-system like Acurus and Totem acoustic will take you to another world.

Summary: Simply the Best DVD
Review: First of all let me start with Tina Turner who was good for her age but a little too tired for my taste. She sounded like a man! Then there was Cher who added to the mess with her rythemless dances. Next was Elton whose performance I couldn't stomach and the same can be said for Cher. LeAnn did good. Brandy started off shaky but by the time the song changed to Almost Doesn't Count she was a diva in training. She sang all over Faith Hill In Everthing I Do and Faith Hill's This Kiss was a little to dry for my taste. I beleive that a diva should offer some excitement which is exactly what Mary J. Blidge and Whitney did in Ain't No Way-They sang up a storm!Whitney inished it off with I Will Always Love You in which she proved that her voice ain't goin no where but up. The the finale with all the divas showed that Whitney was the best and Chaka never should ahve let her sing over her like that. But buy the DVD and see who the real diva is.I acn tell you now it's Whitney!

Summary: Best Music DVD so far
Review: I bought lots of music DVD. This one is much better than the others for the sound quality crips and clear, just like sitting in a live concert (except for the 2 commercial breaks). Every Divas are great and fun, although Cher voice was off key a little, but her dresses have compensated that part.Tina Turner and Whiney Houston are the highlights of the event.

Except that the DVD was quite short (a little over an hour) I have nothing more to complain about.

Summary: Simply The Best
Review: i bought this dvd simply for Tina Turner i thought she was a knock out in this concert. And I Loved Cher coming out to do Proud Mary with her most people didn't like that yes i know as well as anyone Tina can handle it on her own but most people don't understand the bond between Tina and Cher as she said with her own mouth If it wasn't for Cher she would have Never had the courage to leave Ike. she also said that the reason for Cher doing proud mary with her was because she has already planned to retire when that concert took place and she wanted to have Cher onstage with her one last time and personally to Me.. Cher and Tina ARE SIMPLY THE BEST

Summary: Why did they cut alot off the DVD of Divas 99
Review: I Have this DVD but I also tape it off the tv. The DVD is missing a lot on it I like my version better because I also have Tina Turner singing Let's Stay Together.

Thanks

Review: I liked it. The only problem was you couldn't tell who was a diva and who was a guest. Three of the other concerts were better ballanced. (not the Aretha tribute)

Summary: Great, but still too edited
Review: I love the DIVAS specials VH1 frequently does every year and Iown Divas Live '98 and Divas Live '99 both on CD and DVD. The onlything is a problem I noticed a little on Divas Live '98 and definitely noticed on Divas '99. Why didn't they call the Divas Live '99 CD/Video/DVD "Divas Live: '99-The Chopped And Edited Version"? The cast was great. Tina Turner brought excellent stage presence and was probably the best performer of the show. I definitely loved her performing "Proud Mary" along Elton and Cher. Cher did good and Whitney really brought a certain groove and to the show. Brandy did the best she ever could to the show and it was amazing to hear her perform even as she had a sore throat or not. I like Faith Hill and the song (Everything I Do) I Do It For You and I never ever stop listening to the duet Brandy did with Faith Hill. LeAnn Rimes gave a good example of how their are young acts with talent unlike many teen singers today. I think it was an excellent thing for her to be there. I am also a huge fan of Mary J. Blige and Whitney Houston so it was amazing to hear them perform a ballad together. Fianlly, back to why I gave it 3 stars. Does any one beside me think that VH1 tried to sell the Divas in too much of a way? Despite of how it seemed Cher lip-synched to her song "Believe" she didn't as she sang over a recorded tape. Maybe it didn't deserve to be on the CD but because of how Cher performs the song it could've been on the Video/DVD. LeAnn Rimes and Elton John performing "Written In The Stars" was worthy of being on the CD/Video/DVD as well but I guess VH1 didn't think so (who knows maybe they have a reason for doing this). Lastly why did they chop off Whitney's opener of a medley of It's Not Right But It's Okay/My Love Is Your Love? It's misleading as in the beginning introductions they say that Treach (of Naughty By Nature) guest stars but since he's on that medley he's not on the recording. After all, I could tell how edited it was when the presenter to introduce Whitney said "Here Is Whitney Houston" when instead you don't hear music you hear her say "Thank you very much." with a roaring audience applause right after the introduction . . . (I)n order to see any performances of Tina, Cher, Brandy, or Whitney I guess I'd buy it.

Summary: DIVAS OH OK
Review: I ordered the tape version. I must say I was disappointed that Whitneys songs were edited. Its not right, and others. Tina did an excellent job with proud MARY. She proves age is just a number. Turner is a Diva indeed! Brandy what was going on there, she was terrible. And really shouldn't of performed if she had a sore throat. But to me she sounded the same as she always have. Having Cher come out to Tinas song wasn't a good ideal. Tina could of handle that by her self. People were jumping up, hopefully for not Chers lip singing. Mary J. Blige i'm not a big fan of hers, she did alot of screaming. Whitney could of done that song much better alone. Faith Hill is ok she came out to help Brandy who needed it. Leann is a stunning young lady, and she'll get even more better with time. Whitneys I will always love you was great. Though she could of done better. See her performance at the Artisa 25th celebration. She really did an excellent job. Chaka please to much yelling with i'm every woman.
