Summary: Willie Nelson at his best !...
Review: I have allways thought that Willie is at his best when he invites any other singer to fashion a uncredibly emotionnal relation ship during one hour or two. The kind of concert that leaves a eternal souvenir in mind... And that is just what happens here. We can feel really a rope of love and appreciation between those two singer, when they talk to each other and when they sing together (they sing, of course "Georgia", "Seven spanish angels", but also classics country standards). But, tze only problem for fans of Ray Xharles is that he appears only in the first half of the video. For fans of Willie it's no matter, because he sings also alone one or two of his best, like "To all the girls I loved before" or "Who'll buy my memories". And you know thet he doen't play twice the same song the same way !... And ynybody can create such an emotion while playing the guitar in the middle of the songs !...

Summary: Willie and Ray Two Of America's Richest National Treasures
Review: I'll be seeing Willie Nelson this weekend at New York's Beacon Theatre. This will be my fourth Willie concert and man have I been waiting with great anticipation for the Red-Headed Stranger to come into town. In the meantime I've got this marvelous DVD to satisfy my craving. This is one of the great performances by Willie. He's relaxed, (even by his own laid back standards) and in great voice.

What a rare treat it is to see Willie perform with Ray Charles. Here are two of Americas richest national treasures together singing with mutual respect and admiration. In addition Willie's long time guitarist Jackie King perfoms a few beautiful duets. Jackie is equally at ease in jazz, country swing or R&B settings. And as for Willie, it's appearant that old beat up Martin guitar didn't get that way just knocking around on the tour bus. Willie can hold his own with the best of them. Pick up on Jackie's fine CD "The Gypsy" and you will see exactly what I mean.

Like I said up top, I can't wait till Sunday night, (11-3-02) at the Beacon. Until then I'll just give this DVD another viewing...Enjoy.
