Summary: Good Movie For Big Fans or Musicians Who like Pearl Jam
Review: Over all it was a very good video for me, a long time fan. I wouldn't recpmmend it to anyone who hasn't followed Pearl Jam from the start but if your in to music and Pearl Jam's evolution this is the video for you.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An excellent talented group
Review: This was amazing. If you are a lover of the band you will find this very interesting. I know I liked it.

Summary: Missing the single video
Review: I bought this video so I could get a copy of the amazing "Do The Evolution" music video - the one SINGLE video released from Pearl Jam's 'Yield' album. I just figured that their single music video would be on "Single Video Theory". It wasn't. Assumptive, maybe, but I feel gypped.

Summary: Rockumentary?
Review: There are few contemporary bards with DVD's out right now and it seems a shame after viewing/listening to this one. This DVD has some great audio qualities. The 5.1 audio is fantastic although the video seems slightly out of sync in some scenes. The title must come from the fact that this DVD has no chapters and in order to advance the video you have to use the fast forward feature; Very inconvenient. For this reason alone, I gave the DVD a four star rating. This is a fun, 50 minute video, with music and commentary from the band.

Summary: Fortyfive minutes of Rock'n'roll video gold!
Review: I love the Yield album, and this video makes a great companion piece. It is only fortyfive minutes, so you might want to save a few bucks and get the VHS version. I've lost count of how many times I've watched this tape. It just f***ing rocks! In my opinion, it's one of the greatest rock videos of all time.
Other great rock videos:
Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense
Sex Pistols - The Filth and the Fury
Nirvana - Live! Tonight! Sold Out!
Pearl Jam - Touring Band 2000

Summary: Bland Boring and Dull
Review: Let me first say that I love Pearl Jam, always have always will. Own every cd they put out (except all the bootlegs, only about 30 of them) and every dvd they put out. And the only reason I haven't sold this one is so I have the complete collection. If you want to here crappy interviews that you basically know what there going to say if your a real fan and see them record songs that you have on cd's all ready then fine buy the dvd. But don't expect special features, hell for that matter don't even expect a menu! You put it in and it plays like a vhs straight thru all one chapter. This dvd was made cheaply and poorly. Save your money for live at the garden or touring band at least it has music videos.

Summary: 4.5 stars. 1st official video release
Review: who am i kidding? if you're a PJ fan, you already have this album. if you're not, what i say in this review aint going to change a thing.

for the fans out there:

well, i was just like the rest of you when i heard about this release. outright giddy. PJ ducking exposure all these years and not much media coverage about them, it was a pleasant surprise when they annouced this video release along with their album, yield. being that i was sorta tired of all the unofficial bootleg videos, i wanted something professionally shot, something with a clear view of the band. and we got that and more. this video gave us fans much insight into the recording of yield, jampacked with interviews from the 4 members and the beloved jack irons.

why not five stars? well, if you are comparing it to other music dvds out there, then by far, this is a five-star product. if you are comparing this to other pj dvds, then it falls a bit short. this dvd contains no extras and runs less than an hour.

Summary: It's Eddie...that's really enough.
Review: I reviewed this DVD before. And then, like the 8-track, it disappeared. This video is great. But there have been superior PJ-DVD performances released since this one that should be considered. But I really don't care...I mean, I'm am a PJ fan from the word "Go". Entertainment really doesn't get much better than this band. And if you've stumbled across this, you already know what I'm talking about. This isn't selling a plastic rotisserie oven at 3:00 am...this band needs no marketing. This isn't an infomercial for car wax, where the English-accent sporting guy lights up the hood of an old American muscle car with a lighter...this is solid.

Eddie shines in this DVD...and so does the rest of the band. Granted, navigation in this thing is horrible. You have to fast-forward to the tracks you want to see/hear. But you really can't blame them (PJ) for not making it easier. This is still my favorite band...and probaly always will be. And it's really a pretty simple equation for me...character. This band has 10X the amount of most...pure character, through and through. Content, depth, no "wardrobe malfunctions" like during the Super Bowl, just genuine, serious lyrics accompanied by equally serious tunes.

If you want solid PJ, pick this one up, you won't be disappointed. Sure, you'll curse the navigation, but Eddie will never make it easy for us. It's like trying to open a brand new DVD...you're going to sweat it a little bit. And you might suffer a laceration or two. But ultimately, you'll be happy.

I love this band, and I love this DVD. I really couldn't care less about the inexcusable navigation...it's a small price to pay. Eddie et al, served it up, and I bought...hook, line, and sinker. And I've been revisiting it ever since.

Peace,

Phil Hoolehan

Summary: Loved It!
Review: I love Pearl Jam, so it would be pretty hard for me to give this a bad review. I thought it was a great inside look into the band's creative process. There were some glimses of how the band interacts with each other that were great to see! It has some great versions of most of the songs on Yield. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little bit longer! I think it's only like 45 minutes.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: The Theory Works
Review: I was truly impressed with this video. It attempts to capture what life in the studio is like for Pearl Jam, and I can only assume that they did a good job. However, if you're expecting great insight into certain members of the bands personality look elsewhere. The bulk of this film is the band practicing with a few interviews. Naturally though the music is incredible and the sound quality is quite good.
Great Job Pearl Jam!
