Summary: Excellent live stuff
Review: Saw this concert last year in Seattle. Paul Simon is on the top of his game. This concert has excellent audio and is a pleasure to watch over and over.

Summary: How could a Paul Simon "fan" be disappointed in this?
Review: Some people should not be allowed to have opinions. This fine, sublime, charming, and totally captivating concert video given by one of the greatest singer-songwriters ever, and his group of top notch musicians is a must for anyone that "truly" is a Paul Simon fan, or will just appreciate a wonderfully recorded DTS disc. I had my fiance sit down in the sweet spot and played, "Your The One" for her, and then just sat back as her smile spread across her face. You will have a similar experience.

Summary: Videophiles steer clear!
Review: Something bad happened with the video transfer. Color and contrast looks OK, but there are some issues with the resolution being reduced from some high-resolution format (or perhaps from French SECAM format?) to NTSC res. On a big screen or projected the information is simply lost giving the effect of thin lines and sharp edges 'disappearing' between the pixels. It is most visible right at the beginning when the camera does a slow zoom on the neon sign and all the jagged lines. Yuck!! Sorry, I'm a visual person and expect to get 'DVD' quality video when I buy a DVD, so this really annoyed me.

Other than that, I have to give three stars for the great music, decent audio (make sure to manually select something better in the menu than the default, PCM!). I keep finding myself putting in the disc eventhough I know I'll cringe if I look too closely at the video transfer.

Summary: Fine sampling of Paul Simon, fine example of DTS.
Review: The superb musicianship combined with the excellent DTS recording makes this a wonderful DVD experience. Some of these
other reviews are totally misleading, especially if you are
indeed a Paul Simon fan, and have the proper equipment to
hear the DTS mix. You will not be disappointed.

P.S. I see I already did review this, I must have amnesia, or
possibly just a head cold.

Summary: highly recommended
Review: There are many great moments in this concert and the music is always good, with Simon and an eleven-piece band cooking away. The musicians obviously love playing Simon's music and there are some special highlights such as the percussion duel that segues "Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes" into "You Can Call Me Al" (the latter featuring a double dose of that funky bass guitar coda); a trio of early S&G tunes finishing with a great version of "I Am a Rock" and a sing-along version of "The Boxer". Simon also bravely tackles "Bridge Over Troubled Water" (written specifically for Garfunkel's much more powerful vocal abilities) but sadly, there is only one song from the underrated "Rhythm of the Saints" (And if anyone knows if there's a DVD version of Simon performing "The Cool, Cool River" at The Grammys, please post that info here!!).
All in all, highly recommended.

Summary: Just a fabulous concert
Review: This concert dvd is fabulous. Paul Simon and his band are amazing. I just don't have enough words to describe it. If you are a Paul Simon fan, that's a must. If you aren't it's a must. Just buy it, it's a dvd you can watch over and over again.

Summary: A wonderful moment for all Paul Simon's fans
Review: This concert features all Paul Simon's hits including songs from the Graceland album and "old songs" as The Boxer plus songs from "You're the One", Paul's new album. I think that all his fans will enjoy it. The musicians are really good and the whole concert in the Olympia's Theatre is a pure gem.

Summary: Great songs!
Review: This concert has a very well balanced setlist with songs from all the different periods of Paul Simon's carreer. But be careful: do not expect a great production like "The Concert In The Park" with thousands of people watching. This is an intimate show and throughout the concert Paul behaves as if he's rejoining old friends. Many times he goes to the first rows of the audience and shake hands with people, showing how he is simple and humble.

A great feature of this musical DVD, is the subtitles with lyrics to all songs. This is especially valuable for all of you to whom english is not the mother language.

The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the awful versions of "Kodachrome" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water". For me, there's no problem about making different versions of a song, if they change the song for better. However, in my opinion, not only these two songs are almost unrecognizable (except for the lyrics) but also they do not sound half as good as the original ones or the live versions from Paul Simon's "The Concert In The Park". Of course those die-hard fans of Paul Simon will always find that most of the songs had already better versions recorded but overall I think they always sound good.

In conclusion, those who like the solo career of Paul Simon will like this concert. Those who prefer the Simon & Garfunkel duo might feel a little disappointed and miss "Mrs. Robinson" or "Sounds Of Silence". However, the open minded might feel surprised by the quality of his solo songs, particulary "Graceland", "Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes", "You Can Call Me Al" and "Darling Lorraine".
