Summary: Nice DVD if you are an Alabama fan
Review: Alabama fans will like this DVD but the sound critics will probably be a little disappointed.

The words over music is a nice DVD feature, but, the surround sound quality could be improved. But, if you're an Alabama fan....Who cares!

Summary: You'd be nuts not to buy it!
Review: Alabama is great. They have had in their entire career 42 #1's. Now they are ending tours and making new CDs. If you have gone to a concert of Alabama in Las Vegas,(I went to the Farewell Tour Kickoff at the Alladin in Las Vegas on New Years Eve,)This DVD is the one to get. The songs are great. Songs like "40 Hour Week" and "If Your Going to Play in Texas" have parts talking about Vegas. I'll start from the top. For the year the DVD was made, 1999, this is great features. Animated menus, which today are everywhere offer many features: The first feature took place on October 10, 1998 at the Las Vegas Hilton. This 170 minute concert celebrated its 41 #1 hits. It features the entire footage of the band playing, and even shows whats being showed on the screens sometimes, when its good. The opening is a compiltation of pictures of Alabama from the beginning to today. This includes footage of Awards. You will see the Alabama Museum, Theater, and Grill. Then they will play the songs in chronoligical order. The concert it divided into 8 parts. The section breaks feature guest hosts. The first six songs are: "Tennessee River," "Why Lady Why," "Old Flame," "Feels So Right," "Love in the First Degree," and "Mountain Music." During this interstial, renowned talk show host Dick Clark tells the early history of Alabama and the songs you just heard. The next six after the break are: "Take Me Down,""Close Enough to Perfect,""Dixiland Delight,""The Closer You Get,""Lady Down on Love," and "Roll On (Eighteen Wheeler)" The break's hosts work in country music, as do the rest of the hosts. The hosts of the break are Bob Kingsly and Rusty Walker. They talk about the history of the songs you just heard. After the break, five more songs will be heard. These are:"When We Make Love,""If Your Going to Play in Texas,""Fire in the Night,""There's No Way,""Forty Hour Week." The next break's host is Ed Mcmahon. He talks about the songs you just heard. After the break, seven more songs will be seen. The are: "Can't Keep a Good Man Down,""She & I,""Touch Me When Were Dancing,""You've Got the Touch.""Face to Face,""Fallin' Again," and "Song of the South." The next guest host is Lon Helton. He talks about the last seven songs seen. After the break, six more songs will be heard rounding off the first decade of Alabama. The are: "If I Had You,""High Cotton,""Southern Star,""Jukebox in My Mind,""Forever's as Far As I'll Go," and "Down Home." The next host is Robin Leach, who talks about the last six songs. After the break. Alabama comes down on a lit up elevator, all lined up in their famous stance, and redressed in new clothes for the ninties section of the show. This begins with the first four songs: "Here We Are,""Then Again,""Born Country," and "I'm In a Hurry." The next guest host is Blair Garner, who talks about the last four. The next four are,"Once Upon a Lifetime,""Hometown Honeymoon,""Reckless," and "Give Me One More Shot." Then the final guest hosts talk about the last four and the next three. The hosts are Loirianne Cook and Charlie Chase. The nexty songs are "She Ain't Your Ordinary Girl,""In Pictures,"and,"Sad Lookin' Moon." After this Alabama does an encore song, "My Homes in Alabama," which isn't a number one, but is extremely beloved by the band and their fans. They show pictures of them growing up and today, like the opening. That ends the concert. After the credits, there is a bonus video, which is a music video for the forty-second and final Alabama Number One hit, "How Do You Fall in Love. Back to the main menu, I would go to the audio and choose the mode to listen to Alabmama again. You could choose regular Dolby Digital 1.0, or you could choose Dolby Digital 2.0, which I reccomend. Blow out you subwoofer for that one. You may also choose to listen to Alabama's commentary on each of their 42 #1s. They do not go through the introductions and even the whole songs. They are just 30 or 60 second comments made by the band themselves on every song. Below the audio, there is a song list. Go there to listen to songs you want to listen to next. Every song is it's own chapter, unless an intro is before it. Then it includes the intro. The Bounus features include Discography, which shows all the Alabama CDs made up to that Time. The most recent two aren't on there, but it is helpful to find what songs ar #1s on there. The two CDs their missing are 2001's "When it All Goes South," and the most recent, 2003's "In The Mood: The Love Songs." Second is a behind the scenes featurette on the filming of the concert. Finally, you could choose for scrolling lyrics for all 42 #1s and the Encore. Inside the box, you will also get a limited edition poster of the concert they filmed at the Hilton and a list of the songs in the order in which they come and the names of the hosts. Alabama really outdid themselves making this DVD. With the best possible video and audio. I encourage all Alabama fans that like Dvds to add this one to their collection. It really is worth it. From now on remember to "play me some Mountain Music like Grandma and Grandpa used to play."

Summary: Alabama - the greatest band
Review: Can't say enought about the service from Amazon or this dvd. It arrived on my doorstep here in NewZealand just 10 days after ordering it. Great service Amazon. And what can you say about Alabama?. Course you'd only expect the best dvd from the best band ever and that's what you get with this one. Plus scrolling lyrics if you want to turn them on and have a sing-along. I hope the music never stops from Alabama. If you are a fan, don't go past this one.

Summary: AWESOME
Review: I have been an Alabama fan ever since I saw them at Knotts Berry Farm many years ago. I told the non-believers that this group would be the greatest band, ever.

Well, this DVD is the best performance by Alabama. It not only demonstrates incredible talent, it gives lyrics, behind the scene shots, and much more. In reflection, this DVD symbolizes the candle that sits in my window, still burning into the night. It validates what I have been telling everyone all along.

The 'boys in the band' are now legends and they have made a tremendous impact upon millions of lives around the world. Anyone that has ever had their doubts about country music, it ain't about that. There is much more to Alabama than country music. Give it a shot. ROLL ON!

Summary: Excellent DVD!
Review: I have lots of DVDs, but this one is my favorite. It has many, many extras, plus EXCELLENT sound and video. The concert and behind the scenes video would be enough to satisfy even the casual listener, but Alabama packs in lots more for their fans. I love having commentary and/or scrolling lyrics for each song, and the addition of the "How Do You Fall In Love" music video is a real treat. Alabama knows how to treat their fans, and this EXCELLENT DVD proves it!

Summary: Rented it, now I must buy it.
Review: I rented this DVD from NetFlix. My Wife loved it so much that now I am buying it for her for Christmas. You don't have to be a country fan or an Alabama fan to appreciate this concert video. The performance is excellent and the features are what makes DVD worth having. Shhhhhhh! Don't tell my wife before Christmas.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great country music
Review: Just listen to it. Their ability to sing all the past hits over 18 years is a wonder in itself.
