Summary: Mercury's Stunning Curtain Call
Review: This was an amazing performance by Queen, and sadly the bands last. It starts out with One Vision, and includes some of my favorite Queen hits of all time such as the rock opera masterpiece In The Lap Of The Gods, Seven Seas Of Rhye, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Now I'm Here. They also do a smashing rendition of Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Radio Gaga, Under Pressure and I Want To Break Free, and Is This The World We Created, among others, but I agree with previous reviewers that while Queen's 80's music was great , it was their 70's music that really put them among the best musicians ever.
Freddie Mercury was a superb performer, and has lost none of his charisma, looking every bit the Persian Prince in this concert. With tragic irony he addresses in this concert rumors that Queen was about to split up, by saying 'We will stay together until we *******well die', before launching into 'Who Wants to Live Forever'. It seems he knew then about the fatal illness that would remove him from this earth five years later. In a sense this concert was his curtain call.
My only complaint about this video was the time wasted on Impromptu, which was really just playing silly buggers, the time spent on that could really have been used to fit in another two legendary Queen songs. Also I wish the band had actually sung Brighton Rock, instead of making it just a guitar instrumental. I know Brian May is one of the best guitarists ever, but Brighton Rock is actually one of my favorite songs, and that's what I wanted to hear , not just the background guitar music to the song.
Nonetheless it was a fantastic concert, by one of the best bands ever.

Review: This has most of their classic songs and you can skip the songs you do not like. Overall, very good. My kids like "We will rock you".

Summary: I returned it
Review: I see I am in the minority but I didn't like this DVD and returned it. I guess if you are a die-hard Queen fan then you'll like it but I just didn't find it much chop at all. I was suprised, I expected to love it.

Summary: For the Fan: For the Soon to be Fan
Review: There is not much I can say about how Great this Double Disc DVD is for a view of QUEEN.
All I would really note is that if you Loved The Previous edited version of the Concert, this DVD will be a god-send.
About all I will say is that, as far as the Medley goes, it makes sense, since QUEEN have done Medley's since 73 at least, and of other people's material.
As for the choice of material... You have to realise that QUEEN shines as a Studio Band in the best sense, but to select the songs to play to a huge audience, you have to have material that works in that Larger Venue. QUEEN selected the Perfect Material , and Freddy "Sold" the Music to the people.
And Remember, if you have Surround Sound, this DVD is Brilliant, as is the DVD of the Best of Volume 1 re-release, with the complete edits, different to the way the Torpedo Twins botched up the edits of previous tapes.

If you want a Comparison concert, Check out the Must Buy "WE WILL ROCK YOU" DVD: Brians Solo on this item is great in Surround sound, absolute killer.

Summary: Too Big For Their Own Good
Review: Queen is one of the greatest bands ever...that said, much can be expected of them from their live shows, and this concert is no exception. Fans of Queen from the first 'half' of their illustrious career may not jive well with the band on this performance. Don't get me wrong, this is an AMAZING show, in front of 65000 screaming fans. However, Queen got a little too showy and a bit less concerned with the music itself. In the old days, there were just four guys on stage, Freddie handling quite adeptly all the piano parts. They rocked like the great rock band they were, with no breaks for air. Now...Freddie hardly plays at all, with the addition of stage musician Spike Edney. He dances and sways and sings wonderfully, but its all show. Then, the song selection...it's comprised mostly of Queen's lighter tunes from their post-Jazz second half: One Vision, World We Created, I Want To Break Free, Bite The Dust, Kind Of Magic, Under Pressure, Radio Gaga. These are great songs, but to me, don't compare to Don't Stop Me now, Spread Your Wings, Death On Two Legs, Somebody To Love, Brighton Rock (why do the solo without the song? Why?), Liar, Keep Yourself Alive, Dead On Time, Sheer Heart Attack, the list goes on and on. THESE are the songs that made Queen the great rock act they are. NOT Who Wants To Live Forever. Then, I can never understand why bands elect to do Blues Medleys when there's such an amazing library of wealthy songs to choose from. Ask anyone in that stadium that night, I'm sure they'd agree that they'd rather hear a few more QUEEN songs than Tutti Frutti and Hello Mary Lou. Again, this is a great show from a great band, but I'd rather have LIVE KILLERS any day of the week.

I hear that there will be other classic concert releases from QUEEN, including the wonderful Rainbow '74 show. This I'll be looking forward to.

Summary: WHAT AN AMAZING DISPLAY OF PURE ROCK N' ROLL!!!!
Review: This DVD is truly awesome! For the first time EVER, There is a FULL Queen show available on home video! This is a perfect example of a REAL band showing how it's done! Freddie Mercury could take ANY audiance, Big or small, And have them eating out of his hand in a matter of seconds. This show is a PRIME example of the sheer vigor of the GREATEST band ever to grace the stage (or the studio for that matter)! On the first disk, Is the ENTIRE, UNCUT concert. Fully remastered in DTS 5.1 and PCM stereo, And it sounds better than ever! The picture is also much better quality than the 1992 VHS release of the same show. And if the full concert wasn't enough, There is an entire disk of extras as well! There are new interviews with Brian May(guitar), And Roger Taylor(drums) plus interviews with Queens tour manager Gerry S., And the director of the concert(who's name ecapes me at the moment). There are also the VERY cool 'Queen Cams', Where you have a select four or five songs to choose from to watch the performance of any individual band member! I for one really enjoyed this feature, As I am a HUGE fan of Mr. Mercury! There are boatloads of other extras that I won't spoil for you right now, Just take my word for it... BUY THIS DVD. IT'S WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! It will be the greatest concert you'll EVER see!!!

Summary: Queen Rocks
Review: THIS is the greatest live band in the world, performing at their peak. Who can match the energy level of Freddie? The voice, the versatility and the musicianship? Queen reigns supreme here. The DVD quality is excellent. Even the interviews are really interesting. If you're a Queen fan, this is a must have (you probably already have it). If you're not yet a Queen fan - watch this performance once or twice - and join the ranks. It's amazing to watch the interaction between Queen and the audience - this is a how to lesson in the art of putting on a great concert. As Freddie sang "it's better to burn out than to fade away..." and you can really see him smoking here. Just a shame that we can't still see him live. Wherever you are up there Freddie - thanks for the great gift!

Summary: Awesome live video - high talent & terrific energy
Review: I have seen many bands live but the stage presence of "Queen" is something to be learnt from. The camera work and sound production is superb. I have the VHS tape too and the DVD has 8 more songs than the VHS..yoo hoo...

This video could be used as an instruction video for doing live concerts....I use it like one for our band's concerts

Summary: POOR QUALITY ruins otherwise historical performance
Review: ...

Watched 3-4 songs. The video is mediocre. The audio (DTS believe it or not) is bland and flat. The vocals are extremely hot in the mix, and the instruments are nowhere to be found. No bottom end. Poor dynamics...

Once again, don't trust every review here. Some people get too attached to a particular musician or group and overlook the poor presentation of the DVD. As much as I like the music, I can't overlook the lackluster and half-baked audio and video.

SKIP THIS ONE...
