Summary: War at the Warfield ok, but Still Reigning is perfection
Review: I first bought War at the Warfield in August of 2003. At the time, it was my first live Slayer video purchase. I fell in love with the band upon first viewing and thought it was the best metal DVD ever. But after a couple of months, I lost interest in viewing it because the live performance seemed uneven in places. For example, the opening number Disciple has a machine gun-style blitz beginning which Slayer has never done again. Dittohead also has a kind of compressed explosive feel which gives the song an unnatural sound. A year later, I bought Reign In Blood Live: Still Reigning and my love for Slayer has been more than reaffirmed. Tom's voice sounds more powerful and Slayer even plays with more energy. I guess this proves that Slayer is an their very best live when performing their best material, Reign In Blood of course. War at the Warfield is a good Slayer DVD, but Still Reigning is superior.

Summary: SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYEEEEEEEEEEER!!!
Review: This is part concert and part comedy. The fans-rule section was hilarious, it's like they went their way to find the dumbest ppl to get on camera and told them to say the dumbest things they could think of. My favorite interview was the fat guy who talks about seeing other people with slayer shirts "You know, you know, you know."

Onto the concert, it consists of 21 songs from most of slayers discography, it's a pretty good setlist. Tom's singing wasn't as good as I had hoped, but the band played fine. The worst part about the dvd is that the stage is too dark and that just irritates. With that said, it's a must for any slayer fan to pick up.

Summary: Great band... but DVD falls a little flat...
Review: In my eyes, Slayer has been the band who defined Metal and made it what it is today, and seeing them live is the most incredible thing ever... atleast it was 7 years ago. In this DVD they play the songs flawlessly but they seem to get tired out a little to fast. Kerry King is definately NOT in his prime during this DVD. And the Fans Rule section was totally just not needed and also brought the DVD down a bit... I'm sorry to downgrade something by Slayer like this since everything else I've owned from Slayer I've given 5 stars too but this DVD just wasn't satisfying enough for me.

Summary: Excellent show, good DVD
Review: These guys are if anything, scarier than they were when they were young. Well, scarier looking anyway. Where the hell do these 40 somethings get their energy? They just mop up the floor with almost all bands in extreme metal and they're old enough to be Cannibal Corpse's parents. The playing is incredible, fast and heavy. The power and atmosphere these guys create live is truly frightening.

Jeff and Kerry are monsters as is Paul Bostaph. I really like getting to watch these masters play, its just that much more incredible than merely hearing the music. Tom's voice though does give out a little towards the end, but then you should try yelling for an hour and a half. His bass playing however is impeccable.

As for the DVD, the camera angles are good, the sound is excellent, the special features are, well, pretty damn funny if inconsequential. The Fans Rule section isn't something I'll watch again. What a pack of knuckleheads most of the people interviewed are. But of course that's why they were put on film and for the most part they're drunk and very funny. Especially the guy who looks like he just left a Young Republicans rally, he seems to be enjoying his sloppy drunk self. More interview segments with the band and fewer with the sometimes incoherent and preliterate fans would have been better. What there is of the band is good, although Paul Bostaph doesn't get any interview time. I wonder if that was his decision, or what? BTW, speaking as a drummer I must say he is a very good drummer, more technically proficient with the double bass than Dave Lombardo if not as maniacal. But Lombardo grooves with the band better and generates more excitement. So I'm glad Dave is back in the band and am really looking forward to seeing these guys when they hit DC in late November. The other features include a photo section, s'ok, and the video for Bloodline. Its a good video but the band playing live is better.

Anyway this dvd is an excellent snapshot of a good and long show by one of the most frighteningly intense bands in existance today. Its well shot, has excellent sound, its entertaining and a good example of the band durng the Bostaph era.

Summary: Rigth attitude but Slayer members look tired at this point
Review: Slayer will always be Slayer But this guys are not anymore the same that were 20 years ago , age has come and part of that 80s magic is gone , the touch is lost , maybe is possible to recover that , but how to know what takes to achieve that?, that is the question, Slayer are definitely the kings, because no other band has been able to play like this guys , even in this days younger bands cant be as heavy as this legend in present time, (in past time of course never would be compared even), but time cant be stoped , maybe Slayer should call it a day soon to remain as the kings forever, after all they deserve it

Summary: Could be better
Review: Somewhat let down by this dvd. The fans rule portion is horrible and does not represent a true cross section of Slayer fans. This reminds me of all those clowns who attend sporting events dressed up like it's Halloween and wind up getting on national TV, leaving the viewer to wonder if all fans of a particular team are complete buffoons. Same thing goes with these knuckeheads that wound up being interviewed for this dvd. Awful.

On to the performance itself. Slayer rarely has a bad night and is one of the best live bands ever. I don't feel that this dvd captures them properly. At times the video is too dark or the camera angle, coupled with the strobes, make for a tough view. I've also never been a huge fan of Paul Bostaph and his performance here seems, at times, to be out of synch with Araya, King and Hanneman. Looking forward to the Still Reigning dvd with Dave Lombardo, who is light years better than Bostaph, back behind the drum kit.

Summary: Good show, fans in the "fans rule" need to get a job
Review: (...). I tend to look at this for the entertainment value. Sure, the guys in the band look tired and old...and maybe they sound like it..but I give them props for keeping to their original format and doing it again and again. The one thing I admire about this band is their passion for their craft. The fans rule section is nothing more than a bunch of retards who bitch about life from the comfort of their parents' house. I could have done without it. Slayer is a great band...but common....it's ENTERTAINMENT...you don't have to take it literally...

Summary: BLergh
Review: "UUuh, my name is Tom Araya! Look how bad, stupid and mean we are! Also, I recommend you all to use drugs like us! Bleee!"

This is Slayer. That's all you'll get with this DVD.

Summary: Tired of Slayer
Review: Until some year ago I enjoyed Slayer. Now, I''m just tired of them, with their negative attitude, his sad lyrics, the ludicrous solos by Hanneman and King, the bad vocals by Araya. At least The Master (Dave Lombardo) is back on drums. Man, this guy can play!

Summary: STUPID FANS, INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE
Review: This DVD rules!! The performance is incredible and you can feel the energy just oozing from the band and their drunken fans. The sound on the DVD is very well mixed and almost every song is one that will make you want to raise your fist and bang your head. Even though some of the vocals are overdubbed, you can't tell at all and if you didnt know, you would never figure it out.
With that said, i have a few minor complaints...Parts of the "fans rule" section were shoved in between songs in the concert, which interupts the mood of the concert and also, is it just me or do all of jeff's solos sound almost exactly the same?
Anyway, i'm hearing a lot of complaints from people about the "fans rule" section, but even though the fans being interviewed are idiots and mostly just yell and drink beer, the documentary is hilarious and you can tell by the tone of the interviewer's voice and the questions he asks that he's TRYING to get the fans to say hilariously stupid things (and it works great!).
The uncencored video for "bloodline" is included, which is a nice touch because the video is incredible with all of the blood all over the place, seeing slayer in suits for the first time, and the extremely offensive anti-christian imagery (loads of fun). There is also a picture section included too, but it isnt really necessary because after seeing the concert, you start to feel that seeing Slayer standing still is pretty lame.
Overall: there's drunks, violence, chaos, insanity, and some t*ts to top it all off. A great time for the whole family (that is, if you're part of the manson family).
