Summary: Great to get away, but it's the "same old' same old'
Review: I was SO excited to get my hands on a Poison DVD. My favorite 80s band is still trucking away even though most people have turned their backs on them in exchange for the dark grunge of the 1990s and now the better-than-the-grunge music of the Milennium

This DVD puts together their "Sight For Sore Ears" and "Flesh, Blood and Videotape" video cassettes released in the late 80s and early 90s, and adds a few newer videos, including "Power to the People." It was nice to see the old video tapes put on a DVD, so I don't destroy the old tapes by playing them too much (and yes, that is possible for me to do).

I was disappointed, however, by the lack of new footage. All of the interviews were conducted in the late 80s and early 90s, with nothing new.

Also, some of the video and sound tracks did not match, which was distracting.

Poison needs a new injection of creativity in the realm of cover art, as well. They keep rehashing this dapper skull and rose theme, and that, my friends is getting old. What happened to the days of covers that were so great they had to be censored?

I am looking foreward to the day they release a concert on DVD. They promised a video for "Swallow This Live," and it never happened. I hope it does soon.

This doesn't at all deminish my love for the best 80's hair band ever. I don't want this review to sound like I hate it. I was just hoping for something more (but who doesn't always want more?).I've had a Poison CD of some sort continually in my CD changer for the past six years, non-stop...a dedicated fan.

This DVD still is well worth the money.

Rock on.

Summary: Nothin' But an Okay Time
Review: I've been a fan of Poison since the beginning. Even though I was considered "an ankle biter" at the start, they have always continued to amaze me. Through the ups and downs, I have always followed the great music that they distributed. Unlike a lot of bands who only write about true love and sappy subjects, Poison have spanned the globe and wrote about so much more. This DVD pays tribute to what they have written about....since the beginning....in video format. This DVD is truly a real treat that any music buff can sit back and enjoy watching. It is essentially a combination of Poison's prior VHS releases, with a few added bonuses. The retro interview footage is a nice treat. But the videos themselves are the best part of the DVD, especially with the enhanced sound quality. Fans get to see "Cry Tough," "Unskinny Bop," "Ride the Wind," "Something To Believe In," "Fallen Angel," and of course "I Won't Forget You," in addition to all the rest. In terms of the '3 unreleased commercially' videos, they are special too. As weird as it may sound, "Stand" and "So Tell Me Why" two of the three, I have seen on the local music channel about a decade ago, when the first came out! Even the newest vid "Power To The People," one I haven't seen is a great song, and truly showcases that Poison has still got what it takes in an industry dominated by Pop-Music-Acts. I would say that any 80's fan would love this disc, and those with selected tastes of today borrow before buying. All in all, to all the Poisonites out there, purchase, play, and pound the speakers watching this gem of 80's nostalgia.

Summary: For nostalgia mostly
Review: In their hey-day, I was not a Poison fan. I didn't like Winger, Warrant, or Bon Jovi either. But now come to think of it, everytime I went to a party or hung out, Poison always seemed to be playing somehow. So I picked up this video to remember the good old days of smoking dope, underage drinking, long hair, and zero responsibilities. I hope all those girls in the videos still look good, the girls I know from back then don't.

Summary: A MUST see for all Poison fans
Review: Poison is at it again...amazing everyone with their die hard performances. This DVD is a compilation of their BEST videos as well as Bret discussing his personal feelings about his fellow band members, some ex-band members, and his passion for rock and roll. This is a wonderful, personal taste of what Poison is all about. Anyone who loves Poison would LOVE this DVD. This is one of the best projects that they have put together for their fans. Once you see this DVD you will be reminded of their loyalty to all of us who have loved them since the 80's. We are the reason they do what they do!! My Poison collection would not be complete without it.

Summary: Excellent DVD!
Review: This DVD is great. Arranged in chronological order, it is cool to see how the band progressed and changed over the years (I still like their early stuff the best). The videos are all entertaining, and the commentary between is great. The liner notes by Bret give additional insight into the band. Highly recommended for any Poison fan.
