Summary: Something to hold on to
Review: I hope there were more concerts captured like this one. The band sounds great, Jeff was in great form, and the video wan't tinkered with or unnecessarily "stylized". I just hope there's more concerts to come, because it still levels me that he isn't around. And it's been 4 years ...

Summary: unrecognized brilliance
Review: I like alot of different kinds of music and have built a fair collection over the years. But of everyone I've seen recorded, Jeff Buckley has to be one of the most gifted artists of our time and I'm really sorry I never got to seem him live.

I was turned on to Grace by a friend in NYC when it was first released, but living in Asia doesn't allow good concerts very often. I just happened to see this DVD advertised in some alternative music guide and bought it by chance. Somehow seeing Jeff perform the unbelievable variety of songs he is responsible for completely changed my perception of his music.

I think that anyone who appreciates artistic talent can only be blown away by what this guy did. I guess we should just consider ourselves lucky that a decent amount of material was captured before his time came.

Summary: The Best Singer
Review: I listen to all sorts of music, Michael Jackson, Suffocation, Sting, Yanni, all good music where there is emotion, passion and skill involved. This DVD is no exception, Jeff Buckley is amazing, words cannot describe his singing and song writing, what emotion, what emotion. Amazing YOU MUST BUY THIS DVD.

Summary: Can't see the hype
Review: I might get ripped for this review, but i honestly did not enjoy this DVD at all. I bought it after reading all the reviews on this site. Did not really know JB before so i approached it with an open mind. I don't like his overexaggerated singing much, he seems to try to somewhat copy Marc Bolan (personal opinion) and as for craftsmanship on the instrument he seems adequate at best. The other guys look bored and i got the impression the only time they enjoyed themselves was during the heavier songs like 'kick out the jams'. The only song i liked was the last one 'hallelujah' but even that dragged out too much. A redeeming factor was that i aquired the DVD for a bargain and got almost all my money back when i traded it in at a different shop.

Summary: Gone but not forgotten..
Review: I never got the chance to see Jeff Buckley live..and now I really wished i had. this DVD captures him in live performance ..which is a wonderful and illuminating..HOWEVER the bonus material is even more COOL. The two acoustic tracks are epic and the epk (electronic press kit) gives a erie peek behind the making of "GRACE" and the making of an artist..in the truest sense of the word.. wow intense, beautiful and REAL music ...what a shame.

Summary: Buckley for people that never got to see him live.
Review: I never got to see Buckley in concert. This is sufficient. My single complaint is that the editing is shotty. There are too many cuts back and forth.

Summary: Memories Fly
Review: I never had the honor of seeing Jeff Buckley live. I got the album Grace as soon as it was released and, as dramatic as it sounds, it changed my life. Every CD and DVD release, both before and after his death, has been a slice of vocal perfection. The live concert is rough because there isn't a lot of polishing and editing--but it is as close to a raw, live, Jeff Buckley performance as you can get without actually being there. I couldn't recommend an item more and I'm trying to expose as many people to Jeff Buckley's talent as possible. It makes me wish that he was still releasing new material every time a really bad pop album is heralded.

Summary: Simply Amazing...
Review: I own a very large and diverse collection. Everything from Alice in Chains to Jon Coltrane but there is nothing I own in my thousands of CD's and DVD's that completely blows me away like Jeff Buckley; Live in Chicago. "Mojo Pin" was the first Buckley song I ever heard driving my rental car back to SEATAC to catch a flight back home from Seattle, I barely caught the dj mentioning the name "Buckley" before losing the station inside the terminal. The live performance of "Mojo Pin" on this cd is TRULY one of my favorite moments in rock. Unbelievable lyrics, vocal range, guitar playing, drumming, bass playing... It is all here... The only complaint I have ever heard with Buckley is that his range can get so high, and move so quickly that people say it is too "gospel" or "Whitney Houston" in style. Whatever, it is amazing with soul and talent oozing from every song. Anyone who ever ventured into "Alternative" rock must hear the work of Jeff Buckley and this is the best place I can think of, besides the studio album "Grace" to start.

Summary: Grace
Review: I saw this at a special screening along with a French Documentary on Buckley and was blown away. Like his music and his life it is beautiful. But it also showcases his wonderful humor and shows him as a real person and not just the sublime musician he was.
