Summary: A must have DVD for the 'ryche fan!
Review: This is an incredible DVD and one that every Queensryche fan must have.

Those of you familiar with Queensryche know that they are one of the greatest bands to come out of the 90's. Their alternative rock style combined with Geoff Tates amazing vocals is simply superb.

This dvd is from their Operation Mindcrime album, one of the greatest concept albums of all times. In the class of Pink Floyd's "The Wall" this album tells a story throughout.

The DVD brings this to life with excellent 5.1 surround and spectacular digital sounds.

Summary: An absolute masterpiece
Review: This is quite possibly the single best thing I own - if I were put in a situation where I had to sacrifice everything I own except for one thing, it could well be the Operation:Livecrime DVD. With the lights out and the volume turned way up, you really can feel as though you're actually at the concert. I needn't go into the brilliance of the album all these songs are taken from, which is without a doubt the best album ever made, in my opinion, but I think this DVD is able to somehow surpass the album. Of course, the songs don't flow into each other the way they do on the album, Geoff Tate occasionally doesn't sing as well as on the album, but there is just something about this absolutely phenomenal performance, and being able to actually see them playing the songs, that makes it quite possibly that little bit better than the album. That said, don't get this before you've bought the Mindcrime CD, as it will lessen your adoration of it somewhat, I would imagine.

Three minor annoyances - at the end of Suite Sister Mary, where Geoff Tate is talking to the crowd, they appear to have cut this section down, as on the Livecrime CD there is a whole speech where Geoff says "For those of you unfamiliar with Queensryche and our music you're probably wondering what the hell's going on" and so on.

Another is that Pamela Moore's part is clearly pre-recorded, as it is completely identical to the way it sounds on the album. I can only presume that the woman miming is in fact not Pamela Moore, and they just used her to play Mary because they thought she looked the part more, but it is quite annoying.
The final thing is that the "hidden" versions of The Lady Wore Black and Roads To Madness are without vision - all you get is a black screen with the lyrics to the songs printed. The version of Lady Wore Black is the same as the one on the Building Empires video, so I don't mind that, but I would've liked to see them playing Roads To Madness.

Summary: The best "concept album" ever made!!!
Review: This is the top "concept album" ever conceived, PERIOD! Pink Floyd obviously ranks up there too, but as far as political content, thought provoking, dramatic, consuming, enthralling, enveloping entertainment, this DVD is the PINNACLE. All of the band is in their best form,,,Tate puts every ounce of energy into every note! You can feel the emotion of the show just as you were there! I got to see the original live, and am going to this tour on the 15th of Oct. Having worn out the VHS version of this concert, it is great to have the DVD version now!! GET IT! You won't be disappointed!
