Review: This DVD showcases an awesome concert. It makes you feel like you are there, i wish i was!! A must for any ac/dc fan, buy and you won't be dissapointed. Sounds great in surround sound.

Review: There seems to be some heated debate as to whether this DVD is actually "live" or not. Apparently if you question this show's authenticity, the AC/DC sunshine pumpers will go ballistic about it. Well, to them I say this: go listen to the original VHS version, then listen to the DVD version again, THEN get back to me...if you still say there's no doctoring to be found, then please call me & let me know what color the sky is in your world. Few complaints about the video quality (it DOES occasionally have an overabundance of camera angles, but it's not as bad as the Stiff Upper Lip DVD IMO), but the audio overdubs irk me too much to rate this 4 or 5 stars...I mean, I understand overdubs are inevitable on a typical concert release, but no one called off the dogs on this one. Y'know, I just finished watching this DVD along with the Stiff Upper Lip DVD, and I realized that if the camerawork of the Donnington vid was used for the SUL vid, we'd probably have a live AC/DC release for the ages...but I digress slightly. Anyway, I suppose it wouldn't kill you if you bought this DVD, because it's not like it's terrible or anything (it IS AC/DC, after all), but diehards be warned: what you're seeing is not necessarily what you're getting. 2.5 stars.

Summary: Simply the Best
Review: Through all of the band's many changes this show puts the best foot forward. From the vocals being on key and not strained throughout all songs, to the more upbeat, quicker rhythm of Chris Slade's drums, this was AC/DC's finest moment as a rock band. All of their other videos do not come close. Check out the audience during the first song, Thunderstruck. It's a mass of people just jumping up and down in waves - definitely pulse popping. Awesome all the way through.

Review: This review will be simple and straight to the point.

Call up some friends. Have them come over with beer and whiskey. Turn the stereo up to ten. Rock your flippin' brains out. This DVD performance is great.

I was blown away. For close to two hours, AC/DC tore the stage apart. There was no down time. There were no ballads. This was hard rock from opening to closing.

The audio is excellent The visuals are also excellent. This concert was well filmed and recorded.

"Live at Donington" sits proudly amongst my collection of live performance DVDs.

Rock fans will not be disappointed. Buy this performance.

Summary: What a show! What a DVD!
Review: Even if you aren't a hard rock fan, but love music, then you should get this DVD just because of its shear power and full on rocking. Some reviews have complained about the sound or the picture quality and yes if you put on good quality headphones some of the songs sound that good and spot on that you swear you are listening to the album track but this only enhances the visuals. As for the picture quality they are as good as any I have seen for a live concert, considering alot of it was shot at night time.
Basically this is 2 hours of non stop great music, helped by one of the best, most energetic and hardest playing guitarists in the world. Helped by a powerhouse drummer who looks as strong at the end of the show as he does at the beginning and a bass and second lead guitarist who basically stand still for the whole 2 hours (as they always have) and just add fuel to the fire. But most of all a tight band who just play incredible simple riffs that just keep coming and coming. My favourites would be the 17 minute version of "Let There Be ROCK" and the opener "Thunderstruck".
I'm not a big AC/DC fan but this would be one of my favourite music DVDs! Turn it up!!

Summary: For Those About to Rock Read This Review
Review: I was at this gig. I was 21 at the time. It was the second time I had seen AC/DC, the first time was in London in 1986.

I remember the event well, but not the show itself. It was a miserable, rainy day. I was suffering from the effects of 'over indulgence' and had spent the day watching the support acts: The Black Crowes, Queensryche, Motley Crue and Metallica.

By the time AC/DC hit the stage, I was so 'out of it' that all I can remember was the sheer volume of the performance, and spending what seemed like an eternity counting the 21 canons above the stage that were in place for the finale ('For Those About to Rock').

It is great that this show has been released on DVD, not least because I can now sit in the comfort of my home and watch this rather than standing in a muddy field with 80,000 other people!

This was a great show. I've seen AC/DC live again a few times since 1991, and they are always superb.

If you've never had the chance to see them in concert before, buy this DVD.

You won't be disappointed.

The next time they play in the U.K; I'll be there...

Summary: An excellent rock concert video - great job!
Review: I don't listen to too many rock videos anymore, but this one is my most-often replayed one, it rocks... crank it up on a loud projection home theatre system and you can't deny the energy and punch these guys deliver. Highly recommended.

Review: The sound is obviously not from this concert, that makes it awful.

I'd expect something like this from Britney, Madonna, Milli Vanilli, Ashlee Simpson, etc. I can even take the disclaimer on VH's DVD that says.. "we recorded this over 2 different shows to get all the video" and I can handle the Zep DVD where they did an AWESOME job considering that they had limited video to work with.

Other reviews have said "Disconcerting." It is downright awful. The sad thing is that the audio is a good rendition of their work and the video makes it appear that it was one smokin' show, they are just not the same. RUSH in Rio was a show with low-quality audio, but you knew when Lifeson was playing, it was not some studioed-up version.

The liner says "One of the greatest live concert documents of all time." This is only true if Winston Smith was doing the documentation of the concert. They had 26 cameras, but apparantly forgot to plug them into the microphones.
