Summary: Judge other live DVD's by this one
Review: They are bigger than life for a reason. I wish you could bottle the energy created when they break into "where the streets have no name". Pretty insane stuff- a must have for any passt u2 concert attendee.

Summary: Great Concert Film
Review: For those of us who couldn't find tickets to U2's recent tour, we are treated to this excellent DVD shot at their show in Boston.
The band performs most of the songs off their 2000 release All That You Can't Leave Behind, and they squeeze in some old stuff as well like With or Without You (wait till you see what Bono does during this performance) and Where the Streets Have No Name.
The sound is very good, and the directing is very good for a concert film as well. Extras include a rooftop performance of Beautiful Day during the band's promotion for the album.
While this DVD may not be as ambitious as Rattle and Hum, it captures the Elevation Tour remarkably well. Also, check out the DVD counterpart to Best of 1990-2000, whcih features the music videos to the band's hits from the past decade.

Summary: Live the excitement of a U2 concert
Review: This is such a fantastic DVD... The first time I watched it, I could totally feel the excitement of being at the concert. Being from Boston, it totally makes me jealous I was not at the concert.

In addition to U2's wonderful music, it really shows what fabulous entertainers they are. This is also one of those DVDs that after you see it, you do not tuck it away on the back of your shelf. It is a great DVD that you will re-watch... or even put it on as background music.

U2 does a great job at providing their fans with extra material. They make excellent use of the DVD medium. This is a must-have for any DVD collection

Summary: Elevate Yourself
Review: For U2's tour in support of their All That You Can't Leave Behind album, the band emulated that album's back to basics approach as they eschewed all the props and gimmickry of their Zooropa and Pop Mart tours and concentrated on just the music. The DVD captures a June 6, 2001 show at Boston's Fleet Center and the results are great. The concert film contains nineteen tracks and relies heavily on tracks from "Behind". Eight of the album's eleven tracks are included, but the band plays them with as much fervor and conviction as their older tracks. The band wanted to include their fans in the show, so the first fifteen rows are encased in a large heart on which Bono and the Edge frequently venture. Standout tracks include "Beautiful Day", "Kite", "I Will Follow", "In A Little While", "Where The Streets Have No Name", "Bad", "The Fly" and "Walk On". The second disk has the concert shown at different angles, which is a nice feature, but not a great one as well as a piece about life on the road and performances from other shows. For any U2 fan, this DVD is a must own and a great way for U2 novices to get an introduction to the band.

Summary: everything but a widescreen version
Review: classic u2 show, but with aLL todays technology, full screen only does not cut it. if you jones for the wide screen format as all people with theater wide tv's do, then stick with rattle and hum.

Summary: A great concert but a bit disappointing
Review: I'm a U2 fan and I went to 2 of the Elevation tour concerts and thought they were great. The performance of the group is incredible and Bono is ever the showman.

When this DVD came out I immediately rushed out and bought it, but I was in for a disappointment.

First, there are 3 great songs missing. One, which is one of the best songs they have written (if not THE best), was left out of the DVD. Mysterious ways and Pride are also missing, which is a let down. Why? This is something that should not have been. We want One!

Second, Bono was not having one of his best days out there. As I said, I went to a couple of concerts (Anaheim and Phoenix) and the quality of his voice and his acting on the stage was much better than what he displayed in this DVD. I think that they tried to "act out" for the cameras, but it turned out for the worse. I feel that the producers should have filmed another concert where Bono was at his usual greatness.

Third, the second DVD is a bit of a waste. They could not fit 3 more songs on the 1st disc but they included a bunch of different camera "angles" of several songs on this disc, which are one camcorder in the public (crappy audio and video), a "director cam" which is a camera inside the production boot filming the director and his assistants, and the concert camera which is the same one as the first disc. This is nice to see the first time, but unless you are into music production, it has no value whatsoever.

All in all, it is a good DVD and you should buy it. I still believe that the production values should have been better, out of respect for the fans. Enjoy!

Summary: U2 rocks as always!!!
Review: Focusing on the first DVD, I have to tell you this concert was incredible. I prefer the more outlandish U2 concerts like ZOO TV but the stripped down, intimate version is still better than any other concert out there. ... Bono continues whether he is at his best vocally or not to give his all in his emotion and the way he trys to touch everyone in the crowd. As far as some people whining about the camera focusing on Bono too much well he is the front man with a mike. Does it make sense to focus on Adam for 10 minutes while Bono is singing and jumping up and down 100 feet away? I would have given this 5 stars but as everyone mentions the leaving of One and several other classics was bad judgement. Don't bother with the 2nd DVD because it was a waste.

Summary: good concert.
Review: however, 'in the makings of it' or 'control room cam' wasn't all that exciting to watch.

instead, I would've been happier if 2nd dvd included personal interview with the band members. if not, how about their music videos for the songs that were left out from the concert.

stylized video wasn't all that shaky and disturbing as I was worried after reading some comments here. However, I think this rapid cut video editing works better in 30 second commercials rather than full length concert. Instrumental talent is only being heard instead of seen.

overall, it's a awesome stress reliever to revisit the concert in 5.1 audio system.
tremendous replay value in this dvd. buy it.

Review: If you have no idea who U2 is, you would still enjoy this dvd. The concert is simply incredible. Although One, Pride, and Mysterious Ways were edited out to allow more room on the disc, the dvd is still great. Goto u2faqs.com for info on how to access the easter egg. ;-)

Summary: A Must Own
Review: This DVD rocks, if you have any interest in U2 at all, buy it now. I got it the day it came out, and watching it now I still get blown away by it. There are a few songs missing that I wish would have been included (One, Mysterious Ways, and Pride), but that's a minor complaint, as the rest of the show is great. U2 at their finest.
