Summary: Charms that cannot be found in studio recordings
Review: 1. He sings BEST in this LIVE, I think. So mature and so powerful. Listen to "five long years", my favorite track.

2. His performance is as good as in the past, though there are a few picking errors. In this LIVE, you gotta especially focus on his GUITAR TONE that is just amazing.

3. The band's (including the backup vocals) performance is wonderful. You will notice that one of the vocal (blonde) appeared in "24 nights" as well as EC's one time performance at SNL.

4. The overall sound quality of this DVD is excellent.

5. The picture quality of this DVD is also excellent. It's just like you're in the Park.

Overall, I believe this LIVE is simply the best of EC and the DVD is very well made. I strongly recommend to own one. You are highly unlikely to regret it.

Summary: E.C. in Hyde park
Review: A good and solid performance by arguably the best white blues guitarist of his generation. Set is opened by an accoustic rendition of Layla - allways bound to be a crowd pleaser. The set from here on however is entirely electric with some classics from the past (e.g. badge, white room) and some material from his most successfull solo album, from the cradle (e.g. five long years). Unsurprzingly, Eric produces some great guitar solos throughout, the best one in my opinion is on the Bob Marley cover, I shot the sherrif.

Summary: One of the TOP concert DVD's around .. Clapton ROCKS!
Review: A live concert June 29th 1996 and what an absolutely fabulous DVD .... If there was a downer it was that it only ran 89 minutes when other concert DVD's have been hitting the 120 mark ... but ... I DO PREFER a great 89 minutes as compared to Paul Simon's ridiculous Paris concert that ran 120 minutes and was absolute poop ......

Also like some of the great concert DVD's such as Fleetwood Mack's 'Dance' and the Stones 'Voodoo Lounge' the sound thracks on this DVD are true Dolby Digital surround sound ... may only be version 3 and not 5.1 but WOW your amps will love the power ......

This is a must have DVD ...... Clapton does all his hits and his band and back-up singers are flawless .....

Summary: Outstanding - The Best Eric Clapton Video/DVD
Review: A masterpiece of a concert video/DVD. Eric plays his heart out on a rainy day during an outdoor concert. The camera work is excellent, especially for those who appreciate seeing Eric's fretwork and picking techniques. The sound quality is also excellent, especially if you will play this DVD through home theatre. This is the best "Slowhand" live video. The outstanding camerawork puts you in the front row. In addition, anyone learning guitar will appreciate and understand Eric's legandary status when they see this video.

Summary: It's okay..... : )
Review: Actually, it is fantastic!

If I play it one more time, my wife has promised to kill me.

A Blues Man married to a women that likes Country & Western.

If that doesn't give you the blues, nothing will.

A great concert -- it's a must buy !

Summary: wonderful that night!
Review: Blues lovers, don't miss this!

14 classics from blues maestro played good and rough, his solos are lengthy and inventive and the supporting band is just amazing (though it won't be amazing anymore when you look at the names of the musicians). Except "Layla" (the first track where the soundman was sleeping and we could not hear J. Portnoy's harmonica and whole horn section), all tracks sound powerful. The picture quality is rather good (not excellent, but considering the age of the record (the gig was in 1996), it is OK), and the sound is recorded in stereo, 5.1 Dolby surround and 5.1 DTS.

Great concert and simply a must-have for all music lovers!

Well, EC definitely was wonderful that night!

Summary: ****1/2 - some of the best live EC
Review: Eric Clapton was touring behind the excellent "From The Cradle" album when this concert was recorded, and the set list includes a lot more genuine blues numbers than most latter-day live Clapton.

He is backed by an excellent combo which includes Andy Fairweather-Low and Muddy Waters' harpist Jerry Portnoy, and Clapton's own playing is delightfully gritty. He plays sizzling slide guitar on a terrific "It Hurts Me Too", and lets loose with a series of raw blues solos during Freddy King's "I'm Tore Down" and Eddie Boyd's "Five Long Years", and even pulls off a better-than-average "Hoochie Coochie Man".
Eric Clapton's vocals are as good as I've ever heard him, and fans of his bluesier side should definitely pick up this fine concert video. DVD. Whatever.
This fine concert recording should have been released on CD...it is much, much better than the recent "One More Car, One More Rider".

Summary: Essential
Review: Excellent selection of Tracks. Excellent Guitar play on this DVD. The DTS and PCM sound tracks are extremely good and are audiophile quality. This is a DVD that you can use to demonstrate your audio equipment.

Cranck up the volume, select the DTS option and play track 1. Pure BLISS.

I listen to this every once in a while.
