Summary: Could've been more
Review: Just as I managed to find a new copy of the video on VHS a couple of yeqars before, '25th Anniversary' comes out on DVD. For the most part, it was worth the upgrade. Great sound, great picture and great music. It's great seeing a lot of the former members together and interviewed especially Mick Abrahams, Clive Bunker, Barriemore Barlow and John Evan. However it would've been nice to get a few words from Jeffrey Hammond (who is in the video but isn't interviewed) and also get the 70's band members' thoughts on the late John Glascock (R.I.P). Instead we have John and Peggy talking about Eddie Jobson's brief tenure in the band, which was funny but I would've rather have heard about Glascock since he was part of a more important period of Tull.

The videos here are fantastic, but my complaint is why couldn't they have ALL the videos available to be seen alone without the voice-over commentary? I would've loved to see the complete performance of "Nothing Is Easy" from Isle of Wight 1970 and "Minstrel In the Gallery" live in Paris 1975 (the latter would've been great being that there's barely any footage of the mid-70's Tull so it would've been a treat to see concert footage of their over-the-top theatrics). Plus, adding another performance of Tull lip-synching "Witches Promise" as a hidden extra is kind of redundant.

Despite the complaints (as you would expect from any hardcore Tull fan), this is still a good video worth buying. Happy 35th anniversary Tull!

Summary: A New Day Yesterday - 25th Anniversary DVD AT LAST!!!
Review: MEOW! Glad to see this on DVD. Pretty much the same as the VHS but with a couple of extra Videos. Good quality image and sound. If you are a Tull fan be sure and see Ian Anderson on his "Rubbing Elbows Solo Tour". My wife and I had the pleasure of seeing this show front and center I might add, in Portland Oregon September/03. 60%-Music and 40%-Comedy. What a blast! Looking forward to the Jethro Tull "Christmas CD" in October and the next Tull tour in 2004. Thanks Ian!

Review: This DVD has some interesting things on it from various performances (Isle of Wight, French Television, BBC, etc.), I'm sure Tull fans will want to have it in their collections.

However...the Brazilian import Jethro Tull - Songs From The Hippodrome (recorded by the BBC in 1977) is a must have! It is an official release DVD licensed in Brazil, not a boot DVD-R. It is EXCELLENT!! Easily the best Tull performance I've seen on video. It's Tull as I remember them from my youth. It is much better than Living with the Past or Slipstream. In it, the band performs Jack in the Green, Thick as a Brick, Songs From the Woods, Velvet Green, Hunting Girl, Aqualung, Wind Up, and Locomotive Breath. The video and sound quality are very good (quite acceptable considering it was shot 26 years ago)... Get it, you'll be glad you did!

Summary: BEST OF FROM JETHRO
Review: This dvd is ok, but it's just a "best of". Look, for example, at the perfectly Cat Stevens "Majikat" DVd...

Summary: Good anthology for collectors of Tull
Review: This is a good anthology of various songs. However, some of the songs are not the entire version (thick as a brick) and others have commentary mixed in (Aqualung) which detracts. Good dvd for collectors of Tull stuff. Not one of my better music dvd's though when compared to recent concert dvd's.
