Summary: Not "Every" Video.....
Review: This is a great collection, but what about "Nightboat", "My Own Way" and "Meet El Presidente" among others? A disappointment, certainly could have been included here for a complete collection spanning across 2 DVDs

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: taken from Capitol/EMI press release
Review: The success of Duran Duran and the music video format are inextricably linked, going back to the launch of MTV, some 20 years ago. Duran Duran unleashed the incredible power of this new medium when they became the first band to create videos that were more like mini-movies than promotional music clips. Duran Duran shunned blue screens and smoke machines for the mis-en-scene of exotic locations and extravagant sets. "Rio," "Wild Boys," and "Hungry Like The Wolf" were as much adventure films as a vehicle for the music. The success of their videos and the universal appeal of the songs that they wrote made Duran Duran international superstars and established MTV as the purveyor of cultural cool.

These videos, and more, will be available on DVD when Capitol Records releases Duran Duran The Greatest DVD video anthology. The 2-DVD collection brings together all the videos from Duran Duran's years with EMI and Capitol records (1981-1994). Every video from their debut "Planet Earth" to "Come Undone" is included, along with uncensored versions, alternate cuts and select press interviews.

Every Duran Duran video was an epic visual romp through the styles, fashions and sounds of the time, from the new-wave synth riffs of "The Chauffer" to the innovative acid house beats of "All She Wants Is," or the epic balladry of "Ordinary World." Also included on the collection are the now legendary uncensored versions of "Girls On Film" and "Come Undone."

This DVD also contains extras with alternate versions of the videos marked * along with interview footage, EPK's, La Galerie De Duran and a DVD-ROM section.

Summary: a must for any fan
Review: This is a great collection of the best videos-- a must-have for any Duran Duran fan. If only they had a DVD version!

Summary: Yum!
Review: Delicious eighties cheese! These videos are as good as they were years ago...totally glam, they make you want to jet-set off to some Carribean isle. And the boys are pretty cute too. I prefer the earlier songs (Hungry Like the Wolf, Rio)and was a little disappointed that some of the more rarely seen videos (My Own Way) were not included.

Summary: What I wouldn't have given for this 15 or so years ago.
Review: A former Duranie is finally happy. I remember trying to tape all these old videos from MTV back in my Simon days. Of course, that was near-impossible because you never knew when they were going to come on. Well, I've outgrown the crush, but not the love of the music. Just watching these brings back all those old high school days; I can always picture the reactions of my like-minded Duranie friends during specific points in each video. If you're a former addict like me, you won't regret getting these. My only complaint is the explicit nature of some of the videos. Hey, I'm a Mom now and fast-forwarding through Girls on Film is a necessity. Otherwise, enjoy!

Summary: awesome collection, only 2 exceptions
Review: What a great set! All of these videos have perfectly reflected the songs, with the signature Duran Duran look not only obvious...but understandable, more than ever. To start off, "Planet Earth", a video made before its time, with high-tech stuff going on. Next, are my two exceptions: "Girls on Film", and "The Chauffeur". (Now, most of you who have "Rio", KNOW that the latter is a good song, but I don't know why they made a video out of it if it wasn't a hit.) The reason I don't really care for these is that "Girls on Film" is the UNCENSORED version, and I see why MTV and VH1 had to edit it, if you get my drift. "The Chauffeur" has some kind of lesbian get-together, or something. REALLY strange. Anyway, next are the main hits from "Rio", "Hungry Like the Wolf", which is such a classic. "Save a Prayer" reflects the song so well, and the setting of Sri Lanka is so beautiful. "Rio", well, I don't need to explain...or maybe I do. No, everyone has seen the video who's a fan, whether on MTV, or something else. Next is "Is There Something I Should Know?" which is such a cool video. Lots of video tricks. All the hits from "Seven & the Ragged Tiger" follow: "Union of the Snake", "New Moon on Monday", and "The Reflex". "Union" is an odd video, I can't even begin to explain it. "New Moon" is good, but I still can't figure out the plot. "The Reflex" is an interesting fake-attempt at a live satellite concert-feed, which works well, but I think that there would be more shrieking, yelling, etc. "Wild Boys", very weird. But still enjoyable. The interesting part is that periodically, up on a TV screen above all the mayhem, there are shots from "Barbarella", where DD got their name (the villain.) Next, is my favorite: "A View to a Kill". The theme to the Bond movie of same name, Simon is carrying what looks like a Walkman, but is actually a detonation device. (Clips from the movie of exploding things are rampant.) At the end, a girl goes up to Simon, and grabs his arm. "Excuse me, aren't you..." Simon looks up, and smiles. "Bon...Simon LeBon." His cool take at the famous Bond catchphrase. Next, "Notorious", which has a sort of fuzzy camera look to it, but still cool. "Skin Trade", with lots of background stuff going on. "I Don't Want Your Love" and "All She Wants Is" are okay, even revolutionary. But, Simon looks psycho to me, his eyes are wide open, and his hair is all over the place. "Serious" is a change of pace, a sweet pop song, I guess about how a relationship doesn't have to be serious all the time. "Burning the Ground" is very high-tech, and not completely original, considering that most of the song and video is made up of either remixes or clips of previous videos and songs. But, some new footage, like shots of the band at concert, or shooting other videos. "Ordinary World" is a sweet video, of a bride wandering around, occasionally passing by John, Nick, Simon, or Warren. "Come Undone" is an interesting video, showing how different people deal with "coming undone". Lastly, is "Electric Barbarella", a tribute both to the movie, and to the Barbie doll. Basically, the guys buy a doll, in both ways of the word, bring her home, put a battery in her back, make her wear spiky heels, and tie a lacy apron on, while she does the housework. (You should be able to figure out what happens as the video continues.) All together, again, a great collection of one of the most photogenic '80's groups. BUY THIS!

Summary: EXCELLENT VIDEO,FILLED WITH QUALITY
Review: This must be the best music related video ever made. All 21 videos have their own identity and are totally unique from one another. The video shows us the exciting Duran Duran from the early 1980's and how they changed into today's Duran Duran where they still continue to produce excellent music with quality, unique videos.

"Planet Earth"(the first video) is a video based on a lot of imagination and seems way ahead of it's time.It introduces the whole video perfectly. The next 2 video's,well I am sure most of you will enjoy it.The next 3 video's all come from the Rio album. "Hungry like the wolf" and "Save a prayer"(both shot in Sri Lanka) along with "Rio"(shot in Antigua) give a very exotic look to the video's.Rio,shows 5 absolutely gorgeous guys(as I am told by many female's)on a boat near an island with very colourful and exciting images throughout the video.Save a prayer is a serene song and the video relates perfectly to it with wonderful sunset images and throw's a positive light on a country like Sri Lanka by showing how beautiful it is to live in such a coumtry.A must see video. The next 3 video's were made in 1983 and all 3 have alot of creativity in it particularly "Union of the snake". Although I feel the songs associated with these video's are what make them so special."New moon on Monday" is an extremely interesting video and really does an excellent job in promoting the song. The following year the excellent "Wild boys" video was released. It is based on a book that would have been a film, which unfortunately never materialised until Duran Duran came along and produced an absolutely perfect reflection of what would have been the film.An absolutely great song with a filmlike video. "A view to a kill" is the only James Bond soundtrack to have reached number 1,and it has an equally brilliant video. The video took place in the Eiffel Tower and has that typical James Bond look about it,not to mention some wonderful explosions that occur in this video. "Notorious" shows a different Duran Duran without Andy and Roger and there is a different feel to it too .It has a much more funkier look to it as well but the pretty image of the group is maintained by some pretty dancers. "I don't want your love" and "All she wants is" is a little different from most of their videos but still has a lot of excitement in it. "Burning the Ground" is based on a brilliant idea-it is a medley

of all the great videos produced by the group.I absolutely love the excitement generated in this video. "Ordinary World" is my favourite video. For me the location is perfect, the song is perfect and the wedding images in this video of a pretty bride trying to find her way in a place surrounded by the most beautiful trees has a very romantic and intriguing feel about it.It is a brilliant video with high quality images. "Come undone" emphasizes the creativity in the group by having some of the most beautiful marine creatures coupled with showing how everyday dissapointing situations leads us to wonder to whom can we turn to when we come undone. Finally "Electric Barberella"has a very energy filled look about it and the song perfectly describes the video. Overall it is a must have video for any true Durannie,it is filled with quality.I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience real music with excellent videos. You will absolutely love it.

Summary: A video buffet of tasty viewing for any true Durannie
Review: Ahh, to be 14 again and full of hormones...Duran2 came into my life at just the perfect time, and turned me into a raving, screaming, fedora-wearing, magazine-buying, button-covered lunatic. I remember having their first 11 videos on videodisc(!)and watching it 'till it wore out. My family still makes jokes about my Durannie days. Watching these videos brought back all the great memories, all the friends I made based on which D2 member they liked (if you liked anyone but Simon, you were my buddy!), and the time I saw them live at San Diego in '84 (I threw my earrings at John Taylor, 'cause he was closest. He didn't notice). ALL the videos are great, it's like a D2 time capsule on video. Of course, Simon STILL looks yummy! A must for any TRUE Durannie, who stuck with them no matter what, and who even still have Liberty and Big Thing in their CD collections. ;^)
