Summary: Most watched DVD out of my collection of 120
Review: It's an awesome concert filled with emotion and great sound. The crowd was into the concert even though it was done in a soundstage and they even added to the already well performed live concert. The song Silver Springs which failed to make the cut on Rumours (big mistake) had never been heard by any of people there in the way that she sang it. They were on their feet by the end and now I hear her new version of the song on the radio regularly. This was a major turning point for a band on an endeavor to reach out to each other and perform again. It's really a very special DVD.

Summary: The Dance DVD is a must have.
Review: I have 120 dvds and I've never watched one more than "The Dance" Stevie is absolutely awesome and I feel bad I didn't know much about her music until I was 17. I don't usually endorse a certain celebrity as my ultimate favorite, but Stevie seems to know me and I seem to know her. We have a lot in common. I can read her lyrics and understand that. I love Stevie and would rather meet her than the president. She is my inspiration in life to deal with what your dealt and not blame someone else.

Review: If this isn't the best live recording ever done, I'd like to know what is.

And if you weren't a Fleetwood Mac fan before watching it, you will certainly be a lifetime convert by the second or third performance on this video.

All five band members are on top of their game here, and you don't have to know much about the painful relationship histories played out on Rumours in order to feel the emotional reconciliation and maturity that is evident throughout The Dance.

This, simply put, is a magnificent collection of performances by the most insanely talented group in pop music history.

About as close to perfect as you can get.

Summary: Get it and enjoy
Review: A friend brought me this while visiting to play on "The System" (tm).
After running it on the big screen, and in DD5.1, I ordered it the next day. I've now given it as a gift twice.

A good concert, with a well behaved (read: Studio) audience. Excellent Video and Audio (PCM and DD5.1 on a two sided disk).

I note the PCM show is slightly different than the DD5.1 show, so check them both out. This was shot over 3 nights as specified in the liner notes.

With Christine McVie "retired", this may be the last time you'll ever see them ALL Together.

Summary: Nice concert. Dull audio
Review: The performers were outstanding but let me be the first to tell you that the audio quality from this concert DVD was mediocre at best. If your home theater system has the ability to resolve the finer detail and fidelity of a well recorded concert, The Dance will disappoint you. My biggest complaint is that this DVD lacks dynamic range. Yes, it plays loud but on complex tracks (like Tusk) the audio is compressed and everything is at the same volume level. Everything LOUD does not equal better.

Before you suspect my home theater system I should mention a number of concert DVD's with outstanding audio quality far superior to The Dance:

Peter Gabriel - Secret World Live
Peter Gabriel - Growing Up Live
Eric Clapton - One More Car, One More Rider
Eric Clapton - Unplugged
The Eagles - Hell Freezes Over
Norah Jones - Live in New Orleans
Alison Krauss + Union Station Live
Santana - Supernatural Live
Joe Satriani - Live in San Francisco
Concert for George (Harrison) - at the Royal Albert Hall

This is just a handful of other concert DVD titles that I own and they all sound much better than Fleetwood Mac The Dance. For this reason I give The Dance just 3 stars.

Summary: Good Enough
Review: Very well done. For the band that they were they do a show right. Good stage presence and smart enough to have back up musicians with them. This DVD is worth owning. If even for the nostalgia.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Greatest Ever Live Performace
Review: This is probably the greatest ever live performance. Lindsey Buckingham is at his best-great guitar work. Audio and Camera work is perfect. This is 5 stars for music choices, performance, entertainment, and technical production. All the bands coming in at the end is a goosebump climax.

Summary: A Classic Rock Gem!!!!
Review: A must see for any classic rock fan!!! I find myself watching this DVD at least once a week, I never get tired of it. The interaction between the performers, who after many years and all of their trials and tribulations, is still passionate and touching today.

Summary: A great introduction to Fleetwood Mac for the first timer
Review: It has been countless times that I've heard somebody say that it was The Dance show that made them become a Fleetwood Mac fan. While my indoctrination to the group's music wasn't because of The Dance, it was my first viewing of Fleetwood Mac (the Rumours era) live, in concert. I wasn't disappointed... well okay I was, I wish they did Little Lies.
Still, The Dance is pure Rumours era Fleetwood Mac. There are the classics from the Rumours album (the most represented album on this DVD,) a few from The White Album, the title track from Tusk and two releases from the Tango In The Night album along with a few new songs an old B-side song (Silver Springs) and an acoustic version of Lindsey's Go Insane.
All in all, just to see Lindsey fingerpick on Big Love and Go Insane was worth it for me. This is definitely one of the best live shows you'll ever see.

Summary: Essential Offering
Review: This concert from the Mac is essential for two reasons: 1) you get to hear/see the songs left off from the Dance CD and 2) it was probably the last time Christine McVie toured with the band. Even if you aren't a fan of Christine's songs, her voice beautifully fills in the 3-part harmonies that made Fleetwood Mac so famous. And those 3-part harmonies were sorely missed on FM's latest album and tour (Say You Will), as good as that record and tour were.

The Dance concert is amazing from start to finish. There's not a dud in the entire set, although naturally some songs are better than others. (Stevie's Sweet Girl, for instance, while pleasant enough, sounds like a cast-off from her solo albums, and it may very well have been just that.) A few comments:

--Great version of The Chain! Lindsey, Stevie, and Chris at their harmonizing best.
--Gold Dust Woman rocks. Stevie really gets into this one and we get a chilling "scream." They should have bumped Dreams off the CD and included GDW. Really.
--One of the best versions of Gypsy I've ever heard. Again, should have been on the CD.
--Buckingham shines on his two acoustic efforts, Big Love and Go Insane. You really get to see what that man can do with a guitar. Wow.
--Both Say You Love Me and Everywhere sound better than ever. The banjo gives Say you Love Me some extra playfulness.
--Rhiannon, great as always, but I much prefer the "Dream on, silly dreamer" version. :(
--Silver Springs - what can I say? Chilling and intense.
--Encore of Tusk, Don't Stop, and Songbird is a great all-around effort.

Finally, a comment on some of the reviewers' observations that Christine McVie looks bored. Yes, she's more subdued than Nicks, Buckingham, and Fleetwood. But in a band of the eccentric and insane Buckingham and the twirling rock goddess Nicks, someone has to play it cool.
