Summary: Review
Review: I think opinions on this movie are different because the viewers fear to admit they actually enjoyed Brad Pitt in a movie. My opinion is that this movie is great. The story-line is very good and does not get boring at all unless your attention span is that of a donkey. The scenery in this movie is spectacular and really beautiful. This movie could be more detailed and more factual, but over all, this movie is a must see.

Summary: Seven Year Itch
Review: Seven Years in Tibet can sometimes feel like seven hours at the top of the world. I mean, just how many snow-capped Tibetan peaks can a person take in one sitting. There's a solid heart pumping here, but director Jean-Jacques Annaud wrestles with too many themes and Pitt is strangely distant, maybe even miscast. There is an emotional element missing, and you can't tell whether it's Pitt, the script, or what. And when Heinrich's Seven Years in Tibet are up and the Chinese begin their brutal occupation of this primal and mysterious country, you leave with him but feel nothing. His epic journey to enlightenment seems shallow and uninvolving. Sorry, Brad, no nirvana this time.

Summary: Serious and Heartfelt Journey
Review: This is one of my favorite movies of all time, and I own in it widescreen format, which really does the background scenes justice. The story of the transformation of Harrer into something better from something corrupted and ugly was the keystone of the film. Set with pretty scenery, and an excellent soundtrack, the movie is one I would definitely tell anyone to see.

Summary: HEROIC
Review: I had been avoiding this movie until I finally broke down, bought a DVD player and rented "Seven Years In Tibet". Brad Pitt was the reason I had been avoiding it, and I'm here to say right now that was stupid of me. He may only be an adequate actor at best, but this is a fine tale, coupled with mezmerizing cinematography and a noble portrait of the Tibetan people and their spiritual leader, the Dali Lama.

Summary: Beautiful if not faithful
Review: This scenically beautiful recounting of Austrian Heinrich Harrar's 7 years in Tibet is worth seeing, although it takes enormous license with the actual story recounted in Harrar's book of the same name as the film. Still, the setting is magnificent and the acting universally fine -- even that of Brad Pitt, who surprised this viewer with an excellent and nuanced performance. At heart, this is a thoughtful and intelligent film, not an action movie, and viewers should expect same.

Summary: They should have called the movie two guys in Tibet.
Review: The only thing this movie had in common with the book was there were two guys in Tibet. If you want to enjoy this movie don't read the book first. You'll be very disappointed if you know the true story of what really happened. Very poor! Why can't Hollywood seem to ever get a story straight?

Summary: Good Stuff
Review: I had to laugh at the couple of reviews posted by what were obviously immature Brad Pitt fans who would never have never watched a movie like this except for the fact that he is in it - too bad they found it "boring"!. Actually it's quite good, even if it does concentrate too much on Pitt's character at the expense of the Dalai Lama. David Thewlis is great, as is the rest of the cast, and the cinematography is very good.

Summary: ;-)
Review: It may be a little offbeat, but hay! What movie isen't???? This movie is one of many we should all see. The story is true, and if you can see into Pitt's char. position, it makes you relize what a hero he was.

Summary: BORING!!!
Review: I love Brad Pitt and think that he's an excellent actor, but this movie was totally lame. I only watched the first half hour before I fell asleep. I'm sure that it's a good movie, if you can actually sit through the whole thing, and not want to clean your house instead. Watch it if you must, but don't bitch about it because I told you so!!

Summary: A soul -soothing movie!
Review: The movie catches your attention at the first chapter when Pitt made his first appearance.I believe he show a very obvious arrogance toward his pregnant wife and does not seem to care at all as a husband.but when come to the middle in the movie,he start to change as news of divorce come to him.and not to say that the tibet scence was stunningly colourful and brilliant as deliver by this dvd technology.this picture has it all adventure, trill in the pow prison as pitt made 4 unsuccessful escape, the beautiful camera pan across Himalayas scence was awsome, and the war zone of terror when the Chinese Army took over tibet was simply carefully shot.as this picture can double up as a eye opener for us as we learnt about a culture that closed entirely to foreigner.this film simply deliver al the trill, mysterious religion in tibet, the beauty of the highest mountain in the world.a must have for lover of beauty and a glism of other distant culture and religion.Truly a fiver star
