Summary: Shouldn't be a secret
Review: It's remarkable how few people I know seem aware of this great comedy. The jokes fly fast and furious in the mode of Airplane -it's by the same team.

Review: it was and still is popular in romania

Summary: A classic of crazy humor.
Review: My first viewing of "Top Secret!" was a bit off-putting. I loved the off-the-wall humor of "Airplane!", but what was _this_? Apparently, a lot of other people reacted the same way, because "Top Secret!" bombed badly at the box office, despite a measly budget of $8M.

The second time -- and every time thereafter -- it was hilarious. The problem -- as ZAZ are quick to admit on the running commentary -- is that it's a mix of genres -- Elvis musicals combined with WWII spy films. It's disorienting -- the _first_ time you see it. The following times (of which there's likely to be many), you can just sit back and howl at the crazy jokes and non-sequitur humor.

There's another reason to own "Top Secret!" -- it has one of _the_ great scenes in the history of motion pictures. Remember the incredibly long single take Orson Welles starts "Touch of Evil" with? ZAZ do the same thing, except... Well, you have to see it to believe it.

Summary: classic zucker and abrahams
Review: I saw this film for the first time when I was in high school and it immediatly became my favorite film by Jim Abrahams and the Zucker Bros. I recently caught it again last night on TNT and it's still as funny as I remember.

If you're a fan of Airplane or the Naked Gun Movies then you owe it to yourself to see this movie! I don't believe it is as well known as the previous mentioned titles but I feel it is far funnier. Plus, the songs are pretty darn good for parody tunes. Val Kilmer gives us a glimpse of the vocal talents he showcased in the doors and this only proves that besides being a decent actor he is also a very versitile vocalist.

So hurry up and see this flick. Some of the gags are a little dated but they still hold up.

Summary: Not a good description of East Germany.
Review: I thought this was a very funny movie. It had a lot of great sight gags. I just don't like the way they make East Germany look. The East Germany in this movie resembles Nazi Germany which is unfair because the East Germans had a strong anti Nazi line.

Summary: funny but not totally hilarious
Review: Earlier I wrote that this movie was hilarious, but after seeing it recently I dtiscovered that it wasn't as funny as I used to think it was. Maybe its because I remembered the funny lines and parts and repeated them tell they we're kind of played out, maybe I just have changed tastes with age. Whatever it is I didn't think this movie was superfunny. Don't get me wrong it still is kind of funny and fairly good. Just not as outstanding as I once thought.

Summary: Latrine!!!!!!!
Review: This movie never gets old. It's so damn funny it'll take forever to explain. If you love slapstick, sight gags, bad puns, and overall stupidity, then this movie is for you.

Val Kilmer lacks experience here, but he pulls off his starring role as he hams up silly 50's rock n roll style songs(Skeet-surfin USA is a particular favorite). And who could ever forget the best part about being in the back of a two man cow costume??

The funniest gag of all is to see so many Frenchmen putting up a fight!!!

Summary: Top Secret
Review: Holey cow ! Funny movie ! It is 90% as funny a when I was in high school ! Latrine ! And the underwater fight scene is so bizarre but silly ! The Mel Torme jokes sounded stale but maybe they were for europeans ? The pinto joke was still good and the motorcycle hair sticking out straight backwards makes me die with laughter. And the happy cow in boots is classic ! (^:

Summary: Classic Movie, Poor DVD Quality
Review: The Movie (5 stars): A classic comedy by the makers of AIRPLANE! Watch it several times and try to pick out all of the humor, even in the credits at the end.
DVD Quality (1 star): I am currently returning my second "Top Secret!" DVD due to problems with quality. If you buy a DVD, make sure you watch it right away!

Summary: Still funny after all these years...
Review: This is still one of the funniest movies ever made. It spoofs spy movies, World War II flicks AND 1950's musicals. Somehow this all works. Completely ridiculous and laden with sight gags, many have tried to emulate the formula of this film. See the atrociously unfunny "Spy Hard", the appropriately named "2001: A Space Travesty" and more recently, "Not Another Teen Movie!" and "Scary Movie 2."
"Top Secret" is still the ultimate silly movie. Because you see, it still manages to be funny. And a lot of the humor is completely spontaneous. The cow with jackboots, Chocolat Mousse drop kicking one of the Nazi's/East German Stormtroopers and yelling "Vive La France!" Hillary bidding everybody goodbye, but "I'll miss you most of all, Mr. Scarecrow!" Despite somehow managing to spoof three different genres, they still manage to spoof a whole bunch of movies, including "The Blue Lagoon" and the James Bond flicks. Ah, this is good stuff. ;-)
