Summary: Very womanly and sensitive...it has a fairy tale quality...
Review: which brushes the heart like a brush upon a canvas. I have viewed this film many many times. A couple of nights ago, I even viewed it two times in a row. I absolutely love it.

I went to a mall to purchase it and traveled on a bus to get there. When I was returning a lady that was sitting in front of me heard me talk about the film with my friend whom came with me. She immediately turned around and said she loved the film too. Now the funny thing is this lady is in her 40s! I laughed and realized people will always love old-fashioned tales of good winning over evil with a fairy tale quality.

As was written on the VHS, "this movie is magic and stunningly beautiful!" and it is. Although I am not Indian, nor am I aware of any of the Hindu tales, Sara Crewe was very aware of the tales in the film. As you watch this movie you learn much about the fantasy oriented tales India had. Even her father said, "India is the only place that stirs the imagination!"

Above all this, I recomend this film to all women and little girls who want to see a fairy tale. It is most like Cinderella.

Summary: touching classic
Review: this is an incredibly beautiful movie. the story sequences in mythological india are marvelously done with an air of magic about them. the scenes from minchin's school are either extremely dreary or sadly touching. i dare anyone not to cry whenever you see the angelic sarah's interactions with becky and the other children. the dvd is a good transfer and given its economical price, it is well worth purchasing. if you wish to see a wonderful movie that is not for children only then i recommend you see this.

Summary: A magical story of a little girl's faith and determination.
Review: I read this book in third grade, after seeing the motion picture and loving it. That was five years ago - and this incredible story is still fresh in my mind.

Sara Crewe's father sent her to a boarding school in London to keep her from the ill conditions of their home in India. All her life, Sara had been pampered and indulged in her every wish - but she is far from being spoiled and selfish. She obediently attends Miss Minchin's School for Girls and tries to ignore her longing for her father, who returns to business in India. Surrounded by admirers, expensive toys and clothes, Sara is just like the princess she makes believe she is. But then, her father dies of fever in India, penniless. Poor Sara is made a servant and is treated terribly. It is only her imagination that keeps her going - striving to remain a princess inside, her gentle and sweet manner is what finally brings her her reward.

A Little Princess is another wonderful story (one of my favorites of all time) by Francis Hodgson Burnett, illustrated by Tasha Tudor.

Summary: A Little Princess-a beautiful film
Review: A client of mine turned me onto this film, and I think it's one of the most beautifully photographed films I've ever seen. The DVD package is simple, no booklet, no disc graphic, but I wasn't expecting to be blown away with a bunch of extras, although a couple of extras would have been nice. The disc comes in widescreen and full screen versions, as well as 3 trailers. So, I put the disc into my machine and enjoyed this beautiful film. The sound was remastered in Dolby Digital 5.1, and although this is not your shoot-em-up, explosive film that really takes advantage of 5.1, this film uses its surround elements quite nicely. Sometimes the vocals sound a little too tinny (too much treble), but overal the stereo separation and ambiance is soothing and pleasant. Picture quality is beautiful, with very rich color saturation and fine detail throughout the disc. This really is a beautiful looking film, and the DVD format unlocks the beautiful colors quite impressively. I recommend this film for those who appreciate beautiful cinematography, and for those in the mood for a non-violent family picture. If any Dads are reading this, and you have a young daughter (probably 8-12 years of age), she'll thank you for treating her to such a pleasant movie experience. Enjoy!

Summary: A Little Princess is a very well written book.
Review: When Sara Crewe's father dies and leaves her with no money Miss Minchin, the owner of the school, does not know what to do with her. Miss Minchin decides Sara is to live in the attic and run errands for the cook. Sara was once the richest girl in the school, but now she is basically a slave. Living in the cold, lonely attic Sara is stuck with barely any food and one dress that does not fit. Sara is so lonely she starts to make friends with a mouse living in the attic wall and the two girls that sneak up to her room. After many years of living in the attic Sara's life begins to change for the better. Her hope of someone moving in next door comes true and she makes friends with the man. Someone is even leaving things in her room like food, blankets, and a fire to warm up the room. Will things get better for Sara? I think the book was very well written. It was interesting and kept you wondering what would happen to Sara next.

Summary: If you loved A Secret Garden, you'll love A Little Princess.
Review: Sara Crewe's life has changed from being very wealthy and being the most popular student at her school, to rags and extreme poverty in a matter of seconds. She is heartbroken when Miss Minchin, the seminary's head mistress, throws her into a cold, dirty attic room after learning her father is dead. Besides the other servant girl, Becky, who lives in the room next door, Sara has no one to comfort her. However, her spirit brightens up again when an unknown friend gives unexpected suprises.

Little by little, Sara's angel presents her with foreign gifts. Several of Sara's jealous peers begin to suspect things. She is suddenly happier and isn't afraid to show it either. She knows if she believes in herself and keeps the warm-loving heart she has inside, she'll be a princess forever. Will she have to learn to be happy in the attic? Or will things get better for her? Francis Hodgson Burnett is a classic writer. She makes her books full of adventure and suspense, that doesn't allow you to put the book down. I loved A Little Princess, and I'm sure you will too!

Summary: Feast on imagination with this wholesome, quality film
Review: In a world full of high dollar film that are so riddled with trash, this film is wonderfully mastered and fulfilling. It not only contains tantilizing screen play, but is wholesome and enchanting. It takes you back to the wonders of childhood, and fills that void that adulthood brings. Truely an A+ for all ages!

Summary: Every girl is Princess....
Review: I met Sara Crewe when I was 8 and I loved her eversince! Why? It is simply because Sara is the best example for each of us. She knows how to deal with everything without getting out of hands especially when people almost condemn her. She also knows how to carry herself properly. When she was still rich she shares everything to everybody but still she has her feet touching the ground. Her positive outlook in life and her smile helped her face the reality. Her make believe stories gave her additional strength to move on. But her greatest weapon against all of the hardships is her love for other people. She practices everything her father had taught her when they were still together. She never lose her hope for a brighter tomorrow. She is a friend to everybody even to her enemies, dolls and to animals! This book will help other youngsters to love their own fathers even more. They will see another side of a father's love that is clearly expressed in this story... that even in death, daughters are still the princesses of a father's life. Another thing is that one's personality does not depend on what she has. Richness are just ornaments that enhance one's look on the outside. What values more is how you face life's difficulty. Just like Sara said, if she was dressed in gold it would be easy for her to act as a princess, but it is more rewarding to be a princess when you're in rags and tatters. Each of us can be a princess,no matter what! You need not have a crown or robe or be a member of the royal family to consider yourself as a princess. We are all princesss. It just depends on the view, sincerity and simplicity of the spirit. So,don't waste time! Learn the whole meaning of being a true princess by heart.
