Summary: A True Classic
Review: A truly great movie that I have watched over and over again, both with and without my own children. What I liked most about just watching the movie was the way it blended visually rich scenes with charming and sometimes hauntingly beautiful music that literally sent shivers down my spine. The cinematography was so carefully and skillfully done that at times one seemed to almost be transported back in time, into the movie itself. What I wanted most to say about the movie is that it is a good one for children who have experienced the loss of a parent in their lives. There is a scene where Sara seems to have lost almost everything, and has no one left in the world to care about her. Then in the morning, the window blows open and she is inspired to dance in the falling snow, seeming to realize that life still is worth living. To me that was one of the most powerful, moving, and uplifting scenes I think I've ever seen in a movie.

Review: When I first opened the book it wasn't that interesting, but I decided to read on. In the beggining it talked about how Sarah loved her father dearly.Then she had to go stay with a horrible lady named mrs.Mitchen.Sarah always told stories loudly so a servent called Becky could hear.(spoiler)

Summary: I love this movie!
Review: This has got to be one of my most favorite movies. I have seen it so many times I've lost count. You can totally relate to the lead role, Sara Crewe, who believes in the magic around her. She is sweet and loving,and makes an effect on everyone around her. When she is left at a boarding school while her father is fighting for the British, she charms everyone with her character. But when she has false word that her father is dead, she is forced to work as a servant or be thrown in the streets. I absolutely love the way she is reunited again with her supposedly deceased father at the end of the movie. Since Sara had moved from India with her father, the movie has magical scenes surrounding that. You will love the music in this! I highly suggest you get the soundtrack!

Summary: The Movie was Better
Review: I had chosen this book to read for my outside reading material in my English Honors class. The cover of the book seemed a little childish, so that made me a little apprehensive about it at first. But I knew that there had been a movie about this book, and I had seen it a long time ago. I had once heard someone say that the book is always better than the movie, so I decided to read it and compare it. It started off very slow, talking about Sara's life with her father, and how lucky she was to have all this money. I immeadiatley wanted to stop reading after the first few chapters. But in the back of my mind I was always saying, "Well, what happens at the end?" "Will it be the same as the movie?" So I decided to keep on reading, trying to find the answers to my questions. What I found kind of shocked me! The characters and details of the story were very different. In the book Sara's father really was dead, while in the movie he was just presumed dead because of his lose of memory due to the war. The war that did not happen in the book. In the movie Becky, Sara's friend was made out to be the poor, illiterate black servant girl. While in the book, Becky's racial status was never mentioned. And other small things that caught my attention, like Sara's age, hair color, and the description of her friends. This left me dissapionted. Because of the books extreme differnces compared to the movie I became bored. But one thing was very important for me to find out. In the movie Sara is reunited with her father who was persumed dead. Would this happen considering that there was no war, but in it's place diamond-mines. So once again, I kept on reading. But what I found only frustrated me more, Sara is never reunited with her father again. He is in fact , dead. But the story does have a happy ending. Her father's friend has been searching everywhere for her so he can care for her since he felt guilty about his friends death. He does find her and welcomes her into his family. So Sara is off once again. Living the life of luxury with her mink coats and expensive dolls, as she leave behind her the cruel teacher Miss Minchin and the snobby school girls who only liked her for her money. She even leaves behind one of her only friends, the girl alone in the attic, Becky.

Summary: A Little Princess: Not a masterpeice, but worth a watch!
Review: This movie is worth seeing at least once! If you've read the book, I'm not sure if you'll like it as much... However it stays truer to the book then does the Shirley Temple version. It conveys Sarah's strong imagination and hope for her father. Although she is not portrayed as much of a strong girl as she is in the book its okay. Movies for a book are always different. Sometimes its a good thing. Not as good as the book, and the ending is not the same as the book either. So if you are reading the book this movie wont spoil to much. At fails at many points in the movie, it does portray the chief teacher right nor her sister. But it has good acting, and since it is based on the book, a solid story. Much better then the Shirley Temple version. The Shirley Temple version just has her hoping her daddy is alive, crying, dancing, and searching hospitals for her father. This is alot different then that version. The Shirly Temple version is almost like it was based on the same book. So check this out, its worth at least one watch! *HOPE* it was helpfull! Review: I wasn't expecting much from this movie. It's an adaption of my all-time favorite book, and figured I'd invariably be disappointed... I was surprised to find a simply delightful movie. Great fun. I liked the Shirley Temple version even better!

Summary: a BEAUTIFUL movie!
Review: Oh, wow. This movie is just so magical. Everything about it is absolutely captivating. I love the the time it's set in, because this allows for a lot of beautiful, old-fashioned backgrounds that accent the perfectly poignant acting! The little girl is so adorable, and there are some scenes in this movie that seem to belong in a painting, they are so visually-appealing and colorful. This movie is one of those movies you can watch and totally immerse yourself in and forget you're watching a movie, actually believing you're IN it. I wish I could give it more than five stars, because it truly deserves it. It really gives you that deep-down, warm feeling that only the best movies can make you feel. It's rare to find such a deeply-moving movie that can be enjoyed by anyone!

Review: This story is such a fantastic one. It has many good messages. It reminds us to find the extrodinary in every day. It shows us how to continue the selflessness of generosity. That sometimes it isn't what you get that makes you happy but, what you do with it. The movie shows how magical the world is, when you look through another person's perspective. This movie will hold a special place in your heart.
