Summary: A true epic
Review: A great movie to see on the big screen.Lots of action and the camera work is fantastic work.It seems alot shorter than the three hours it lasts.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Outstanding.
Review: I think Pearl Harbor was a outstanding movie because it shows great meaning of how Pearl Harbor really was.It had a great meaning to it and it wouldn't have been such a good movie if it hadn't had such great actors in it like Cuba Gooding Jr.,Ben Affleck, and Josh Hartnett.I thought it was sort of a said movie as well as the end of it but throughout the whole movie I would give it Two Thumbs Up.

Summary: Just skip to the attack.
Review: It's hard not to believe on a day when more than two thousand Americans died, that there wasn't another compelling or convincing story which to carry a film.Buy the DVD and gom to the attack scene.

Summary: "...Like Some Americans Will."
Review: When I see that the cover of the movie Pearl Harbor has Ben Affleck and Kate Beckinsale's names on the front, I wonder, "What about the Hartnett guy? Josh Hartnett acts out the best pal to Ben's character and the best more-than-boyfriend guy to Kate's character." I think that you should give the guy some credit since it was his first big-time movie. I mean, who, in their first big movie, would want to die? I mean, why can't the unbelieving "Rafe" pass away? He's older in the movie as he is in real life(I'm not saying that I want him dead or anything). I wish that they wouldn't have done that. It was the only grudge that I have with it and still do.

Summary: Worst DVD EVER!
Review: The movie is absolutely amazing... the sound is spectacular, but what the heck is the deal with the split movie? Yes it's a long movie, but one of the key advantages to purchasing DVD over VHS is the significantly extended time available, thus eliminating having to change videos in the middle of the movie. I looked at the data on each Disc and saw that getting the entire video on Disc was possible. What is the problem here?
My second issue is with the features. The ONLY feature is the History Channel presentation which I watched for free on the History Channel several times for a month. With all the information available including live footage and survivors ou think there would be many more features. So why is this film two DVDs again?
There are no features and the interruption in the middle of the film is enough to give up and throw the thing in the [people]. Two thumbs down for the idiots who programmed this disc. If you're considering purchasing this film, wait until the Director's cut becomes available to see if it's any different. This DVD is NOT worth any amount of money.

Summary: Tries too hard to be another 'Titanic'
Review: I saw this in the movies the weekend it came out, and I was so disappointed. I was expecting something really engaging. Instead I got "Pearl Harbor".

The storyline itself was predictable with the Affleck/Beckindale/Harnett love triangle, and I can see that the filmmakers were trying hard to capture the magic of James' Cameron's "Titanic", but it just didn't work for me. The special effects of the Japanese attack were the only thing worth checking out; they were amazing, but the rest of the film fell flat. And I don't know why Cuba Gooding, Jr. even consented to be in this movie or why he was in the film ads. He had no interaction with any of the other cast members, except when Beckindale, who played a nurse, bandaged him up after a fight and after the attack, looking at each other from across a room. He had about three of four lines in the entire film. I know he was supposed to be portraying Dorie Miller, a cook who shot down a Japanese bomber in the attack, but his role was really not important to the plot. Cuba could have sat this one out. Watching this movie, you'd think that African Americans had no role in fighting this war whatsoever, which is historically inaccurate.

"Pearl Harbor" did make a lot of money, yes, but mostly everyone who saw it in the theatres would say that it was a waste. If you're thinking about purchasing this DVD, watch it on cable first, then decide.

Summary: Thrilling and Boring
Review: Pearl Harbor, though it was trashed by every review I read, is actually not that bad of a film. Many of the more "emotional" scenes that are included throughout the film, however, are not needed and only help with one thing: the viewer's boredom. All in all, though, the action scenes are visually and mentally stunning. They are easily the high point of the film. I mean, let's face it, people like Michael Bay and Jerry Bruckheimer were born to make films like "Armageddon" and "The Rock," not emotional dramas such as this. Had there been a better screenwriter (sorry Randall Wallace) and maybe a different director that was more accustomed to the type of film that "Pearl Harbor" tries to become, this film would have been excellent. Alas, this simple wish was not granted, and we are left with this entertaining yet boring, amazing yet dull action film.
