Summary: Excellent
Review: This movie serves as an excellent coda for argueably the most well known action series of all time. In its day, it was the most expensive movie ever made(1988). You can see every bit of the cost on the screen. An excellent overall stimulant for the senses. Although not an Oscar contender, this movie entertains as well as informs about the war in Afghanistan.

Review: THE Rambo trilogy is the trilogy that spawned many rip-offs(Missing in Action,Thunder Warrior,etc)I can't say which one is the best since I think they are all great no trilogy is complete without this one.

Review: Rambo goes to Nepal to find inner-peace when general asks him to do a mission in Afghanistan he won't then the General tries it himself and gets caught Rambo goes out to find him with the help of fellow Afghanistan people.

Summary: "Rambo 3 ???"
Review: of all the many reasons to hate this film, and there are MANY, but i won't list them all here; just the one that has always bothered me the most. The 1st movie was called "First Blood", the 2nd "Rambo: First Blood Part 2", so how did moviemakers EVER get away with the title "rambo 3"???!! that would as stupid as "the Omen", "Damien: Omen 2", and then calling the 3rd OMEN film "damien 3". there never should have never been a 3rd film w/ the rambo character, but if Hollywood really felt it necesary, then it should have been called by it's rightful title, "first blood part 3", NOT "rambo 3"!!! that is a tremendous insult to moviegoers intelligence everywhere. and the scary thing is, well, look at all the "good" reviews on here. THAT'S scary!!!
p.s.: in case i wasn't clear about what i was saying about the mistake in the title, just remember there never was a "Rambo", or "Rambo 2". It was "First Blood" (which is an extremely good film by the way), then the ill-conceived sequel, "Rambo: First Blood part 2". then came the abysmally bad "rambo III". it's on the same level of maturity as these recent "Freddy vs. Jason", and "Alien vs. Predator" films are on.

"*u*k'em." - Rambo tells Colonel Trautman how he feels about the Russian Army, & terrorism in general in "Rambo III"
The first was in defense. The second was for redemption. And "Rambo III" is about the honor of loyalty toward friends & mentors.
A decent final entry in the "Rambo" Trilogy, but, its funny how things change over the years. Look upon this action film as just that and you shouldn't have any problems.
After Rambo declines an offer to help his former CO, Colonel Sam Trautman, in a mission to help middle-eastern "rebels" in their fight against the Russian Army, the Vietnam Vet. is forced back into action after Trautman is captured by Russian forces.
"Rambo III" is easily the weakest of the three films. The dialogue is stilted. The scene where Trautman explains to Rambo that he will always be a warrior is a howl (especially the reference to the sculpture and the artist). There is a bit of goofy one-line humor from Rambo that doesn't really work (lines like "I fired a few shots." are like lead bombs). The cave sequence had a been there done that feel. "Rambo III" was released for the Memorial Day weekend of 1988 & by this time the industry had been saturated with films inspired by or similar to the first 2 "Rambo" films.
The S.E. DVD is worth a look at for the interesting featurettes, including "A Land In Crisis". Trailers and the usual special edition items are also included.
As for "Rambo IV"? It would be interesting to see Rambo go back and kick a.s.s. against his former muslim buddies, but, don't hold your breath. Stallone is creeping up there in age and in this post 9/11 atmosphere any film that could offend any Muslim, putting them in a bad light (like as if they don't deserve it) has a snowballs chance in hell of getting made into a feature. Just ask Bruce Willis where "Die Hard IV" is.

Summary: Revisionist Historians Beware
Review: First up, this is not a very good movie. However, those who apply current context to the politics of the film (as most reviewers seem to be doing) are missing the point. Back when this film was made, America (the CIA) was sponsoring the Taliban resistance to the Soviet occupation. They didn't care that the Taliban were bloodthirsty troglodytes. It only mattered that they were contributing to the military-industrial collapse of the Soviet Union (and thus winning the Cold War). Atrocities be damned, this was one for the Gipper. In a perfect world there would be a Rambo equivalent in Russian cinema who goes to Iraq to help the insurgency battle the American infadels.
At any rate, in context the film is only marginally successful. It is well made and features several tense action sequences. The dialog is (and was at the time) Reagan-era tripe. If you check your brain at the door you might find this a reasonable 100 minute diversion.

Summary: Perfectly illustrates the shortsightedness of the right
Review: As pure mindless cheese, the movie is good. As an illustration of how stupid and consistently WRONG the Neoconservative movement is, this film is a bona-fide classic. Hey, I have an idea for a movie! In Rambo IV, our hero, with the help of his "great friends" the Saudis and the Pakistanis, liberates the country of Iraq from the evil clutches of Saddam Hussein, then single handidly defeats the insurgency and gives the Iraqis a Jeffersonian democracy. We can watch that movie 15 years from now and see how it turns out.
Being wrong and stupid is one thing. Continuing to be wrong and stupid is unforgivable.

Summary: Rambo joins the Taliban?
Review: This came on the TV the other night. (TNT)I had not seen it before so I watched. Sylvester Stallion is still quiet handsome! But the movie was sickening and disgusting especially after 9/11, I'm simply amazed they still show it. It is in such bad taste! It is bad enough Rambo joins the mujjahadeen ("holy warriors") who gave us the Taliban and Al-Quaida and 9/11. And the Russian soldiers are very badly represented. First of all, Russia did not "invade" Afghanistan, but were asked to help by the Afghan goverment against the mujjahadeen rebels. The Russians in the movie all look like gigantic pro-wrestlers or something! Do you want to see how the Russian soldiers really looked? Get the book called "Afghanistan, Soviet Vietnam" by Vladimir Tamarov. You will see, they were eighteen or nineteen years old skinny boys who looked sixteen. The mujjahadeen were the same vicious Islamist extremists fighting our American guys in Iraq and Afganistan today, so thanks for nothing, Rambo. I'm still amazed this movie still plays on the TV. TNT is clueless.

Review: Me and Rambo are so much alike, before I ever saw this movie, I would usually say "Yes I fired few shots from my ass". I think somebody stoled this phrase from me and I know the guy who did it
Rambo. Uncut virsion actually says above line not what they show in the movie. Oh yeah this movie is so silly, those people who played freedom fighters are so funny and stupid, I like when one of them asks Rambo, "What's a football, you play for a food"? My answer would be yes you stinking muharajee. Throughout the movie I just wanted to guide those russian choppers to these "freedom fighters". Yeah Rambo is an idiot, this stupid country thinks it could control everybody and act like Rambo as an answer to every problem, listen to what I say to that "I fired a few shots from my ass". It gets better, when Rambo comes to Afganistan he says I'm no tourist with a straight face, I laughed till I pooped. Throughout this movie I dropped my pants many times to moon those freedom fighters, they can't even build a school but they can run around like goats all day long and fight
Those people who play Afganeese look like italians without suits hahahaha. I liked when russian soldier was dragging one of the afganeese by his hair, it turned out to be a lesson in ethics, the only language those muharajees understand. After, helping those people Rambo deserves a special treatment from russian tanks, russians should of tied his arms to one tank and his legs to another and start driving in different directions, see how tough he is... yes this movie taught us a great lessons - nothing

Summary: Worthwhile sequel for Stallone fans
Review: Rambo III is a good sequel that doesn't match the success of the two movies that came before it. Troubled Vietnam vet John Rambo is working at a monastery in Thailand when Colonel Trautman shows up to ask him if he wants to go along on a mission. Rambo turns him down, but when he finds out Trautman has been captured by Soviets in Afghanistan, he goes after him to try and rescue him. The plot is predictable, but it is still an entertaining movie. There is plenty of great action throughout as Rambo battles the Soviets alongside the Afghan rebels. If you liked the first two movies in the series, you'll probably like Rambo III. Sylvester Stallone is good as Vietnam veteran, John Rambo. He has little to say the whole movie instead just staring at someone or firing a gun. Either way, his performance is basically the same as the others. Richard Crenna returns again as Colonel Samuel Trautman who Rambo must attempt to save from the evil Soviets. The two of them are very good together in the scenes they have. Marc de Jonge sneers his way through the role as Colonel Zaysen, the leader of the Soviet forces. The Special Edition DVD offers commentaries, a documentary about Afghanistan, production notes, and widescreen presentation. For an enjoyable action romp with plenty of explosions, check out Rambo III!
