Summary: A great movie, joy for the spirit, a master piece
Review: This movie teach us that even in the worse situation we have the power to change things, that someone can take away from us the material things but nobody can take away our soul, our feelings, and the capacity to choose between to be happy or not, that the parents are for their children the teachers in the art of living.This movie is refreshing and deep, in a time when the most part of the movies bring messages of violence, sex and hopelessness.

Summary: Overrated, & Ian MacKellan was robbed of a Best Actor Oscar
Review: I liked the first half of this film best - a gentle romantic comedy. It was amusing, tho not hysterically funny, Benigni did his best here, and things were believable. But once they were carted away to a camp (death? concentration? labor? POW?), things become quite unrealistic and inconsistent. The little boy would have been gassed ASAP after arrival at the camp. The camp would have been much more crowded & filthy. Hiding a child in the barracks all day was not an option - the guards would have found him easily. And how does Benigni get to wander around camp after curfew without an armed guard or without getting shot? OK then gentle readers, if this was more like a dream/morality fable, then Benigni & the writers should have gone more the other way: images of ghosts or angels, a ballet thru the camp. Otherwise, the camp is much too nice & believability goes right out the window. I had expected more after all the hoopla...

Review: I sow this film in Russia. It's realy one of the best films.it's a tragedy and comedy together. After seing this film i'm impressed. My english is not so good to express my fillings after seing this film. It was realy the best forein film in festival.

Summary: Best movie since Tarzan and the Lost City
Review: I have no problem with spending eighty-eight dollars out of my SSI check for this dubbed version of Life Is Beautiful. I never got to see it all the way through in the theater because I had to read the subtitles out loud to the rest of my family so they knew what was going on and the manager kicked us out. Now maybe I'll get to see if any female cast members divest themselves of their clothing, as happens so often in these foreign motion pictures.

Summary: Worthy of "Best Foreign Film"
Review: I loved this film. It made me laugh and cry. Films that deal with the Holocaust usually can't make you laugh. The thing I didn't like about this film is that it was not realistic at all. It was beautifully made and sends a great message. If you want a true Holocaust story, watch "Schindler's List". In my opinion, that is the best Holocaust movie to date.

Review: I love this film. I will probably wait for this one to come to DVD on its Special Edition collection of one of its finest. I hope it comes to DVD. I will buy it advanced if it comes to DVD. I just love this film. Roberto is a fine performer and film maker and deserved more acedemy awards.

Review: Roberto Benigni has a special gift of storytelling. Before I saw this movie, I was told that it was Chaplin-esque. I thought I was prepared to be entertained and moved--I got a lot more. This movie makes you appreciate all that you have and wonderful gift that God has given us--Life! PS: Get the soundtrack--you will love the score.
