Summary: A must have collection.
Review: The movie is an excellent account of the vicious battle in Mogadishu. What makes this edition a "must-have" are the inclusions of "The History Channel Presents: The True Story of Black Hawk Down" and "PBS Presents: Frontline: Ambush in Mogadishu." The movie and the two documentaries paint a well-rounded picture of the battle and political consequences that followed, culminating in President Clinton's decision to withdraw from Somalia instead of confronting Adid, the man responsible for the ambush.

If you liked the movie, want to know more about the events but missed the documentaries, this 3-disc release is for you.

Review: this film is amazing;i wish more movies like this would be made more often. this film had a profound effect on me and still does every time i watch it (i have watcched it god knows how many times). this story of survivaly against all odds is riveting and jarringly powerful. everything in this movie is perfect; kudos to Ridley Scott, who is easily one of the greatest working directors today, for crafting a film of horrific yet beautiful proportions at the same time. rather than go for a cheap blockbuster action film approach, scott creates this film in the vein of an art masterpiece. we dont kjnow a lot of the characters but we carea bou them every step of the way through the chaotic war. everything in this film is simply unique, at all levels, whetehr they are technical or not. acting, cinematography, powerful dialogue, are all amazing. the music by hans zimmer is great beyond words. with this, he has made a powerful and moving score that adds to the greatness of this film and his own resume. this is one of his best scores, way up there with thin red line, etc. this is one of the best war filsm every committed to celluloid and one of the greatest films i have seen in a long time. i am overjoyed that a 3-disc special edition is out' my dreams have come true. i will have to buy multiple copies because i will wear this special edition out the second i get it.

Summary: As Real as it Gets
Review: Black Hawk Down is the best war movie
of the '00. Even though I have the original
I will be getting this 3-disc version for the extras.
The movie is a realistic recreation of the battle of
the mog. the only inaccuraties are the one combining several
soldiers into one and change little parts to fix into a movie.
My favorite extra is the Frontline Report from PBS which talks about the battle and gives a accuate recreation with the soldiers
talking about the horror of the battle.

Summary: Good Film, Go See it
Review: Black Hawk Down is an excellent movie that everyone should see. The only reason why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 was because in some parts of the movie it felt like it was just dragging on and on.

Summary: a must see
Review: Black Hawk Down is the Hollywood interpertation of the 1990 conflict in Mogudishu, Somalia. Althogh the gore is almost unbarable it is a must see. I enjoyed it and hope you will too.

Summary: 3-Disc Treatment for a 5-Star Film
Review: The only word I believe I could form was wow after seeing this in the theater. It is not needed for me to go into any plot lines because a lot of other reviews do so. The film is real, and grabs it's audience, shakes them good, leaving them with astonishment about what really goes on during war. Black Hawk Down might not exatcly be entertainment. It's more like a powerful message about the horror of war, told "in your face".

I cannot wait for the 3 disc set to be released. Ridley Scott's comments on his masterpiece should be insightful and informative. It is clear he was born to direct material like this.

Black Hawk Down is gritty, realistic, and mind blowing. I'm glad we will now all be able to get a look in the head's of the creators. Bravo.

Summary: Realism
Review: The title sums it up best. A very realstic account of the war in Somalia and of war in general. Hits close to home in today's current war, and brings into life what many people do for America and for the freedom they fight for. Almost to realistic in parts.

Summary: The most real movie Ive seen
Review: This movie is a well made movie. Cinematagraphics, charicters, all of it is well done. But there are many well made movies out there, and that is not enough to make me give a movie a really high rating.

What stands out in this movie is reality. Ive seen many movies, I've seen lots of cinema Gore. Saving Private Ryan, for all the impact it had, had nothing on this. As a man who has been involved in real operations, with real blood, This movie is the most real I have ever seen. I have never felt that almost ill feeling in my stomach from any movie before. I never understood when others had problems with graphic movies. Now I have some conception. This movie is not made to spare the weak of stomach.

That said, I found it to be one of the most valuble movies I've watched, ever. Bing based and very well grounded in a real story, gives it even more impact. The balance of telling the truth, without being sadisticly war glorying or masochisticly war hating is amazing. I have never seen its equal. Watch this movie. but dont show it to your kids, at least not untill they decide they want to join the army.

Summary: Warning of what the U.S. should not do in the future.
Review: I would recommend this movie as a blueprint for U.S. disaster in its ever increasing role as world police. Step one is sending troops into the field without 100 percent support from the back office arm chair warriors. Step two is that the same arm chair, back office warriors have not learned anything, even at the expense of young American lives. They are set to commit the same old, same old mistakes again. Once troops are in the field and at risk, they should have absolutely everything they need to stay alive and be successful. "The Mog" was cited frequently in the press in the recent war with Iraq. We have not learned the lesson yet. Mr. Rumsfeld was running a war while Colin Powell, the real warrior, was caught up in diplomacy. When I heard about troops being down to the last round of ammo and having one meal a day, I wanted to go to war against Mr. Rumsfeld. Field General Wallace put himself at risk to take issue with this situation. The Field General did not put himself at risk with the reckless planning of superiors and got blamed for the entire mess. This movie has absolutely excellent action scenes basically from start to finish. I am rating this movie at five stars for both the quality of the movie and the extremely important lesson we need to learn to avoid such situations in the future.
