Summary: FULL METAL JACKET is the best war movie to date.
Review: I've seen Platoon, I've seen Apocolypse Now, I've seen Saving Private Ryan........But the war movie that sticks out in my mind as being the best written, directed and produced, is FULL METAL JACKET. The story line follows Private "Joker" through the toils of Marine Corps. boot camp, to the war in Vietnam. He learns how to kill his fear, how to kill his pride, and, how to kill......

Summary: Excellent!
Review: This movie is a riot. The funniest parts are when the drill sergeant is screwing with Private Pyle. A superb cinematic experience.

Summary: One of the best war movies ever made.
Review: I think that this movie is one of the best I've ever seen dealing with Basic Training and war. It's odd for a female to be writing a review for a war movie, but I really enjoyed it, being the Army. I can relate to the events in their Basic Training. Oh, and just as a side note. Everything's militarily correct dealing with the time. Watch it, it's a real eye opener.

Summary: TRUE TO LIFE PARRIS ISLAND EXPIERENCE FROM A MARINE
Review: THIS IS ABOUT AS A TRUE STORY OF PARRIS ISLAND I HAVE EVER SEEN HAVING GONE THRU P.I. MYSELF IN 1952. THE THING THAT MOST PEOPLE DONT GET ABOUT THIS FILM AND MY EXPIERENCE IS THAT 99% OF THE MARINES ARE NOT TOUCHED (LIKE MY SELF) ONLY THE WISE GUYS AND SCREW OFFS ARE MANHANDLED BECAUSE THESE ARE THE GUYS THAT WOULD LIKELY SCREW OFF IN COMBAT AND THEY ARE WEEDED OUT IN BOOT CAMP AS THE REST OF STORY PROVED........

Summary: Greatest movie I`ve ever seen!!
Review: TWO WORDS: WATCH IT!!

Summary: As dissonant as Vietnam?
Review: Boot camp: organized, disciplined, harsh. Vietnam: Vague, strange, disorienting, incredibly dangerous. Veterans talk about Vietnam this way, starting with how you couldn't find the enemy. This movie brings the dichotomy to life, with incredible performances.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Outstanding portrail of the 70's Marine Corp and Vietnam.
Review: This movie is a true-to-life, nitty-gritty portrail of the Vietnam war and the attitudes of the times. This movie joins the ranks of such good films such as Born on the Fourth of July, and Platoon. In my ratings scale this movie is Outstanding.

Summary: Kubrick shines once again!
Review: Watch this film! It will show you the horrors of Vietnam, and the stress that soldiers went through to get there. Kubrick's terrific direction only makes this film more visually stunning. This could be one of the finest war films of all time.

Summary: A Movie of Epic Proportions
Review: Unlike other vietnam films such as "Platoon" or"Born On The Fouth of July" this film's primary value rests in it's incredible ability to depict the killer instinct. Before viewing vietnam through the eyes of a jounalist, I found the slow transformation of Gomer Pyle from a gentle human-being into a manufactured killer very aptly portrayed and quite fascinating. Also setting this film apart from others depicting the controversial war is the general realness it radiates. During the second half of the movie, the war comes to life in a form with a clear message. Due to the striking diolouge, the remarkable powerful scenes of death, and the imprint it leaves on your mind this film can be easily described as a movie of epic proportions.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A great film, with a good cast, and a well written script.
Review: This is a touching and enjoyable story about a marine(Joker, Matthew Modine) who finds himself caught up in a crazy war, Vietnam. He meets interesting people, and has himself constantly faced with interesting situations. A definate classic from Stanley Kubrick.
