Summary: Stallone the Yo-Yo
Review: Next to Rocky, this character of Stallone's will go down in history as the worst thing since Lee Majors. I was disappointed with the lack of logic to this movie, unlike the first which was good. After this, is the most horrific movie sequel to have ever been released since the killer tomatoes films.

Summary: Worthless Anti-Commie Crap
Review: It was estimated that Rambo gunned down 98 Communists in this movie, but it might as well be an entire nation. If warfare was this easy, then the U.S. should have returned Rambo to Afghanistan to take out Osama bin Laden by himself. (There's still time, given the recent news about a possible Rambo IV.)

The movie served its purpose in the heyday of Reagan's Cold War America. After being shunned in the 1970s, Vietnam vets finally got some respect in the 1980s, or so it seemed. I could imagine what a vet like Ron Kovic would say about this jester of a movie.

The scene where Rambo barely escaped a napalm bomb, and subsequent machine gun sweep, was truly a distortion in history. It makes us forget which side used napalm during the Vietnam War, and used it with pleasure.

Even more ridiculous was when Rambo shot up the American base with his M-60, and then let off the last rounds into the ceiling while emitting a rebel yell. Every time I watch this scene, I would burst out laughing. This was the quintessential gung-ho garbage that Hollywood sold us then, and has not quite stopped selling us since.

Summary: Return to 'Nam.
Review: FIRST BLOOD was a great movie. It was full of not only action, but also suspense; it had great characterization; and Sly Stalone actually did a fairly decent job of acting. John Rambo, though he was an extra tough hero, was a character that seemed real and one that many people could identify with.

In RAMBO: FIRST BLOOD II, John Rambo is back. The movie begins with Rambo working in a prison when he's visited by his former commander, Col. Trautman (Richard Crenna). Trautman offers Rambo a chance out of prison with a special assignment that will almost guarantee him a Presidential pardon. The U.S. government is eager to put the fiasco of Vietnam behind and wants to send Rambo into an old Vietcong prison base, which he once escaped from, to take pictures proving once and for all that there are no American POW's left in Vietnam. Along the way, Rambo looses his camera, but brings back even better proof: a live POW. Unfortunately at the sight of the POW, the beaucrat in charge orders the pickup to abandon Rambo and company. Big mistake.

RAMBO lacks much of the emotional depth that made FIRST BLOOD so enduring. In FIRST BLOOD, John Rambo was a real person. In RAMBO, he has become a one man army, straight off the pages of a comic book. The movie is also full of discrepancies, plot holes, and blunders. Nevertheless, RAMBO remains a classic action flick. Most of the action films of the 1980s and early 1990s were patterned off of RAMBO. It's a fun movie to watch and it's great to see a non-politically correct American action hero kicking the tar out of some evil Communists.

Summary: Low Rambo sequel
Review: For me this follow up to First Blood is the worst of the trilogy.

Vet John Rambo(Stallone) who is in prision convited of various charges is given the chance of a full pardon if he joins into a top secret mission in southeast Asia to take graphic pictures of the vietnamese pow camps and find evidence of American pows held there without entering in combat with the enemy.

After his accidental airborne launch he contacts with a vietnamese intelligence agent of his side which leads to the camps.

After he enters in the camp and recues some pows he is sold by ruthless mercenaries whom doesn't pick up in the site of the landing he is captured by some russian soldiers led by a sinister and sadistic litenaunt who tortures him to death in order to seek who he is and who send him.

Rambo made it up and escapes from the camp with some pows and destroy it with a chopper.

After killing the Russian officer chopper he gets it right to get things with the intel gov that send to that mission.

He destroys all the computers in the control center and with his knife persues Murdock(Napier) to locate all pows in this camp or he would locate.

Pure routine.

Summary: Another simplistic Hollywood distortion
Review: The history of the Vietnam war has been rewritten on a number of occassions by hollywood script writers and this is yet another example. The film is very self-pitying and the implication is that although the US made mistakes the fault should lie at the door of the Vietnamese who were merely defending their own country.

Rambo, like most of these films portrays the Americans as brave and noble and the Vietnamese as evil and sadistic. It is these kinds of representations of the Vietnam war that lead many ill-informed, ignorant people to believe that the Vietnam war was purely an 'American Tragedy' and that people lose sight of the fact that 2 million Vietnamese people died and over 50% of Vietnam's forests were destroyed by agent orange.

This film center's around Rambo's quest to free or find out what happened to a handful of US soldiers that were unaccounted for at the end of the Vietnam war. This films delivers the old yarn, still believed by many Americans today that many US soldier's are still being held captive in Vietnam in bamboo cages by the 'vicious' Vietnamese.

At the end of the Vietnam war 2273 US servicemen were unaccounted for, however the US department of defence knew the fate of 1657 of these - they were categorized as 'body not recoverable', i.e. pilots who had gone done with their planes or been blown up by explosives.

The fact of the matter is that the Vietnamese gave the Americans a huge amount of help in trying to find out what happened to the remaining 616 US servicemen. An MIA office was created in Hanoi and the Vietnamese, with a team of American investigators went looking for the missing servivemen. A few human remains are known to have been found but no live servicemen.

The Vietnamese gave the Americans every assistance they asked for in order to put an end to the rumours and it is important to point out that 200, 000 Vietnamese were unaccounted for at the end of the Vietnam War, in comparison to 616 US servicemen.

If you enjoy simplistic, jingoistic trash then this film is for you and you will probably enjoy films such as 'The Patriot' and 'U571' that are equally as bad. However, if you are you are interested in seeing films that give a more fair depiction of war then I would recommend 'The Thin Red Line' and 'Apocalypse Now' which are both devoid of blind nationalism and are superbly shot, showing the beauty of Vietnam and the depressing reality that no side really wins when they go to war.

Summary: One of the premiere action movies of all time!!!!!
Review: Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) is a prisoner who is picked since he is an extraordinary vet who has won purple hearts among several other honors, to go on a mission in Southeast Asia to rescue POWs (prisoners of war). Being the hero that he is, Rambo isn't satisfied just taking photographs of a dangerous and possibly deadly camp, he would rather get into the action and make as many rescues as possible.

Rambo can fly a helicopter better than most full-time pilots, he can shoot the bow & arrow with such skill that Robin Hood wouldn't even stand a chance, and he really knows his stuff when it comes to any kind of fighting with weapons, to say the least.

I've always been a major fan of Sylvester Stallone's action flicks, and "Rambo: First Blood Part II" is one of my absolute favorites. Action movies are my favorite kind of movie, and Sylvester Stallone is probably my favorite action movie actor of all time.

As always, Stallone more than delivers the goods in "Rambo: First Blood Part II." This movie has some of the absolute best action sequences ever put into a film. Even though this film was made in 1985, it has spectacular special effects and edge of the seat action sequences that can stand up even to today's climbing standards of movies.

But action isn't all the "Rambo: First Blood Part II" has to offer. It also features a great, suspenseful musical score, a satisfying script, a great plot (and I didn't even reveal half of it to you!), it NEVER gets boring even after watching it several times over and over, and the great compliments could keep rolling from my mind to the keyboard all night.

If you like all-around classic action films, don't hesitate to add "Rambo: First Blood Part II" to your collection. Unlike most sequels to great movies, this one can stand up to the original in shining honor.

Summary: "Murdoch,i'm coming to get YOU!"
Review: Now,what can I say about First blood part 2?The original Rambo was a good film, dealing with some serious issues, and Stallone played the magnificently. This one however has the look and feel of a studio cash cow! However, the storyline, acting and effects more than make up for any doubts you may have about the production values.
There are some great scenes here, especially Rambo's helicoptor raid on the camp, and the scene where he kills about a dozen Soviet soldiers. There are too a few emotional scenes thrown in,like when his love interest eventually buys it at the hands of a chinless vietnamese officer, and you can feel the anger when he hunts down Murdoch at the end!
A great action movie!Buy it right now!

Summary: Excellent!!!
Review: In my opinion, this is a smidgen below the first one. But it is only a smidgen. It is excellent nonetheless. Suspence, action, drama, Sly... what more do you want in a movie?

Summary: Besides Rocky one of the best Stallone's movies ever
Review: Sylvester Stallone has been underrated as an actor but when it comes to action,he makes Arnold, Bruce and Van Damme looked like teenagers on a first date. Rambo II is an example of that, perhaps is not as deep as "First Blood" but it's the icon on what an action movie should give us: all around good performances (like the one given by Richard Crenna), good history and good pace on the action mood. Also you will enjoy the "extras" this DVD has. Like the trailer, trivia games and documentary.

If you love action movies, you won't regret it this movie!!!

Summary: RAMBO IS SO AWESOME!!
Review: Rambo 2 is my favorite movie and I have over 200 DVD's!! 200!! Well, to begin, this is not just an action movie, it is a super-action packed adventure! Rambo shoots and doesn't miss! Don't even think of trying to fight him, because he knows all the SLY moves! Stallone seems to have a bad rep, but I challenge anyone to say this after watching RAMBO FIRST BLOOD PT2! He is amazing at jungle warfare even though the vietnamese have underground passageways and in-tree-fighting experience! Watch out cuz he can't be stopped! RAMBO II should only be watched in widescreen because it is a marvelous cinematic experience that is not to be missed!! To quote Rambo: "Watch out, because I am coming!" coming to buy this DVD I think!
