Summary: Not a bad "stand alone" adventure
Review: When you look at the film on its own rights, and without comparing it to TGON, then you have a fun, well-written World War II partisan/sabatoge adventure. AS someone who saw it at the age of 14, flush from Star Wars mania, and a big Harrsion Ford fan, I was impressed. Recently I caught it on AMC and found that it held up reasonably well. I had forgotten a lot of the good plot twists in the script. And on a really personal note, as I said, having seen it as a fourteen year old male at the time, Barbara Bach's bathing scene was the first "skin" I ever saw in a movie. Which was really something for a PG film back then. It is truly sad, how far things have come. I am now a teacher, and I just cringe when I know that about 90% of my sixth-graders have seen films like "American Pie" and "The Matrix!"

Summary: One of the best WWII movies of our time!
Review: No scratch that, one of the best movies ever! I first saw this movie on AMC and i usually don't care for older movies but this one just blew me away. If you don't like this movie, something is seriously wrong with you. It has an extremely good plot and not too much violence. I definetely recommend you to buy this movie if you like WWII movies!

Summary: What an Underrated Movie!
Review: I can't believe this received such bad reviews from the critics! Of course, usually when the critics hate a movie, I love it. I must admit I love old movies, although this isn't an "old" movie to me - having been a 70's child. But I've also seen "The Guns of Navarone" and it's a wonderful movie in its own right. I love Gregory Peck - but I think the work that Harrison Ford, Carl Weathers, and Robert Shaw put into this film is first rate. Please don't deny yourself the chance to see this movie.

Review: I LIKED THIS FILM BETTER IN LETTERBOX THAN THE ORIGINAL BECAUSE IT IS MORE FUN AND LESS SERIOUS. I LIKED ALL THE DIFFERENT ACTORS AND THE CHARACTERS BETTER. IT LOOKED LIKE THEY HAD A LOT OF FUN MAKING IT, IN YUGOSLAVIA I THINK. THE COLORS ARE BEAUTIFUL, TOO. THIS DVD IS EXCELLENT IN PICTURE, VERY SHARP.

Summary: One of the worst sequels ever
Review: Having just seen the excellent "The Guns Of Navarone" I saw this the day after. Why did it have to be so bad? The actors are good actors (Harrison Ford, Robert Shaw & Edward Fox), the director Guy Hamilton (Goldfinger) is also quite good, but boy oh boy - they certainly don't show it in this movie.

Summary: Force 10 From Navarone ... A Beautiful Print!
Review: I had been waiting for this title to come out in widesceen for some time. This film's greatest asset is its beautifully photographed landscapes. This DVD delivers these vivid images very strikingly and makes the film very enjoyable to view. This is not such a bad sequel as I thought when I first saw it on its original theatrical release. It is almost not a true sequel since characters and events referred to in "The Guns of Navarone" have either been altered or did not exist in the original. However, it still follows thematically with the original: a small band of Allied soldiers in W.W.II, penetrate a Nazi stronghold with the odds against them on an improbable mission. The score by Ron Goodwin is in the same vein as his "Where Eagles Dare" masterpiece. One interesting note about this DVD is that it offers both widescreen and Pan & Scan versions of the film. However, I believe the widescreen version to be from a British print, while the Pan & Scan version is the American version. There is different dialog between the two prints. That was an added bonus.

Summary: Underrated fun, plus lots of Bond veterans
Review: I first saw this movie 20+ years ago on HBO (I was about 13 and a huge "Star Wars" fan, so I watched anything with Harrison Ford), with no knowledge of the original "Guns...", so I definitely have a soft spot for it. The best way to approach it is like a 007 movie: not necessarily realistic or literary, but a good fun romp, and without the utterly implausible over-the-top histrionics of today's action flicks. Plus, it's chock full of Bond film veterans: Robert Shaw (Nash in "From Russia With Love"), Richard Kiel and Barbara Bach (Jaws and Maj. Amasova respectively, both from "The Spy Who Loved Me"), Edward Fox (M in "Never Say Never Again"), plus it was directed by Guy Hamilton, who did several Bond films, including "Goldfinger", "Live and Let Die", and "The Man with the Golden Gun". No tuxedos, Aston Martins, or shaken-not-stirred martinis, but hey, it's WWII. Good fun filmaking, underrated because of its association with its predecessor.

Summary: Not worthy of the name " Navarone"
Review: An extremely poor follow up of the original " Guns of Navarone", the simplistic plot and fiented realism of this film knock the points off. Although not entirely horrible ( The appearences of Robert Shaw and Harrison Ford) this film could have been much better. A good adventure film for those who are either too lazy or mentally-challenged to follow a good intricate, well thought out plot, such as in " The Guns of Navarone."

Summary: Fast paced and Barbara Bach too
Review: You really cannot go wrong with any movie that stars Robert Shaw, Harrison Ford, Barbara Bach and Edward Fox and this movie - although blasted by the critics upon its release really is a great war movie. Many saw this as a dissapointment due to its attachment to the Guns of Navarone, but if it is taken up on its own merits then one can see that this is really nothing more than a fun movie for funs sake, no serious character studies here and the movie is all the better for it.
