Summary: A disappointment
Review: I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and needless to say I was eagerly waiting for the movie to come out. When I finally saw it, I thought it was great. The second time I saw it, I was disappointed. I understood why they had altered the book so they could produce it easier, but some of the scenes I didn't understand why they took them out. For example; Snape's spell(?I don't know what to call it). Why was that taken out?

The actors were very good, and I think they did a wonderful job, so I'm not taking anything away from them, but I think overall the movie does not have the charm the book does. I will still be seeing the second movie, but I will not be hoping for as much. Some times people make mistakes in turning a book into a film, and I think this was one of those times.

Summary: Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone
Review: When I heard that Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone movie was coming out I got so excited. After the movie I told my mom "We're buying it!" It was so good. I can't believe all the special effects and such...it's amazing...they did an awesome job on it. I can't wait for the next one...Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets!

Summary: Just Good Filmmaking
Review: Chris Columbus has made a masterpiece its not just harry potter that makes the movie the movie makes harry potter. This is a very good movie even for people that don't like the harry potter books because it offers everything action, suspence, writing, charcter devolpment, cienmatography, music, this movie has everything a fantasy is suppose to have. Its a brillent film and its been campared by some to be the wizard of oz of or time in my opinion its better than wizard of oz it has more depth than what wizard oz had. Its a great film for the whole family and is one of the best movies I have seen in the last few years.

Summary: A wonderful series
Review: This movie was superb, but obviously not as good as the book. The best thing about this movie is that it cannot even begin to show its excellent standard without the other movies, just like Sorceror's Stone sets the basis and tone of all the other books. As the other movies are created we will see the simple beauty of the story as it naturaly evolves. I cannot wait!

Summary: Ok movie for kids but adults will be bored
Review: I was disappointed with the movie. Granted the movie wasn't made for adults, but a good movie should be able to hold the interest of both adults and children. My first problem with the movie was the stiff acting by the three leads. I especially wanted to hit the fast forward button everytime the read-headed kid tried to emote. My second problem was the direction, or lack thereof. When I heard that Chris Columbus was chosen as the director, I was skeptical that the movie would be any good. I was right. The directions had no sense of excitement to them. Given the high publicity that the movie received during the pre-production process, it was disappointing that the producers didn't come up with more talented director, screen writer and actors.

Summary: It's the book....
Review: Okay, everyone's read the book, loved it, can't wait for the next 17... and so on. So someone decides to make a movie. The only reason I can see to make the film they made is to make money. Doesn't anyone care about making a good movie? There is absolutely no artisitc talent in here besides J.K. Rowlings. Someone just read the book, typed in the dialogue, and found some rich millionaire to fund their movie. I see these people gushing over how Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Widescreen Edition) stayed so close to the book. This movie didn't deserve to be made. I read the books, I liked them, but what I was really hoping for was something different, someone's else's interpretation of the book. But that wouldn't make money, would it? Three-fourths of the country would attack Chris Columbus whining and complaining that they have read each of the books 10 million times backwards and that the movie should have beem EXACTLY like the book because these people have the IQ of a microwave and can't handle new plot lines. A note to the country: grow up. If anyone tries to give me this DVD, i'm burning it.

Summary: A Wonderful Movie
Review: Even if you have never read the books, you can still fall in love with the movie.

Director Chris Columbus, did an excellent job bringing Harry and his friends to life.

The movie is great and entertaining for the entire family. It is a must see for everyone.

Summary: Better than I expected.
Review: A classic tale of good verses evil. The boy who survived an attack that killed his mother and father would grow to be a great wizard some day. After being raised by his aunt and uncle who treat him less than nice, Harry gets an invitation to go to Hogworth School of Wizardry. Good adaptation from novel. Not good for small children who are easily scared and have a problem setting still during movies. With its length being over 2 and 1/2 hours long, I suggest this movie for children ages 8 and up as well as adults.

Summary: Magically good
Review: This dvd was superb!! Every second was magical and full of new twists and surprises. The general appearance was right on with the book. There were some minor differences from the book and the dvd and that didn't affect the ratings whatsoever. Overall I think the acting, scenes, and realisticness was above and beyond. It was such a joy to have watched this outstanding dvd. The special features were amazing.
