Summary: Such a dissapointment....
Review: You are so pyched that the Harry Potter Movie is coming out. Great, but did anyone mention to the director that it is supposed to be like the book. Sure he added a bit here and there, but for all you Harry Potter fans that like true to the books plots you're going to be sorely dissapointed. A book allows the possibility of so much creativity and imagination, but this movie cuts out those fantasies and replaces them with a slashing script and poor pyrtechnics. If you haven't read the books enjoy, but to everyone else hope the next one is better.

Summary: Good but a litle rushed.
Review: This is an excellent film, do not get me wrong...but there was a lot of rushing through elements in order to show as much as they could in as short a time as possible.
So much was left out and so much was crammed in that I felt not entirly satisfied. It felt like reading/seeing a Cliff's Notes version of the story. It might have been better if even more elements were left out to focus better on the introduction of the characters.
I know they talked about making some of the larger books as two parters but after this film I think they may need to think about doing it with all the books!
I would almost rather see a TV mini series of the books so they could do it all. Since they can do big budget TV shows I don't see why not.
I did like this film and I know they had a big weight on their shoulders. They did an admirable job, it just felt too rushed to me.
The next book may be easier since there will be no introductions neccesary except for Lockhart and the Weasley clan.
I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for lots of extras on a DVD!!!

Summary: Great entertainment for children AND adults
Review: I was trying to avoid this movie, just mainly because of all the kiddie hype; yet a friend and I decided to check it out one day just to see what all the fuss was about; and I'm glad that I did--it was truly a great 2.5 hours of entertainment at the theatre. Definately check this movie out while it's on the big screen, this is what going to the movies is all about: a great visual treat interlaced with a riveting storyline that won't bore you to sleep. It's a great escape from today's technological society, to that of old time, ol'fashioned wizardry--the stuff fairy tales are made of. :-)

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: Just sit back and enjoy the fun. In this film we live a year in the life of Harry Potter - and what a year it is! Full of fun and adventure and more importantly, Harry discovers the meaning of friendship and finds that he deserves better than the life his "family" wants for him. (...) You are sure to enjoy Harry's new friends Ron and Hermione too. They are great!

Summary: what else is there to say?
Review: (...)I hadn't read the books until 2 weeks ago when I finally decided I should see what the fuss was all about. I couldn't put them down!! I took my kids to see it this weekend and was in as much awe as they were! I don't remember when the last time I was so engrossed in a movie. Don't miss it!

Summary: Harry Potter is the best movie I've seen.
Review: You may think I'm over exaggerating, but I loved this movie. I went to see it at 9:45 at night and I had to go back and see it again! They have some cool visual effects and if you don't mind me saying so, some cute boys with cute accents. If you haven't seen it yet I have but one bit of advice. Go See It!

Summary: Perfection Harry Potter!!!
Review: I am a 25 yr old married woman. No kids, no younger siblings and I love Harry Potter! I have read all of the Harry Potter books and like everyone else in the world, cherished them for the way they made me feel and how they introduced me to a whole new wonderful world that had been gone from literature for a while. When I heard they were making a movie, I was praying it wouldn't be cheezy and take away the magic contained in the books. As soon as I saw the first preview and saw that Daniel Radcliffe was to play Harry POtter, I knew I would not be disappointed. He looks exactly like I pictured him in my mind while reading the books. Everyhting in this wonderful movie does justice and then some to the wonderful books. So many people think it's a kids movie about magic, but to me it's so much more. It's about a boy that has lived his life so far thinking he is no one special because that is the way he is treated and then he finds out that in this whole other world, he is special and means so much to so many. He's the ultimate underdog that you can't help but push for. I was worried the kids in the theatre were going to be noisy while I was trying to watch the movie when just the opposite was true! I was the one giggling and so excited to finally see this fantastic movie! The acting is incredible without overdoing it. Daniel Radcliffe has that quality that endears you to him just as fast as you can say HARRY. He IS Harry Potter! I can't imagine any other actors that could have played the beloved Harry, Hermione and Ron. I wanted to see it again immediately so I convinced my husband to go with me. He was skeptical, and only 5 minutes into the movie, he leaned over and said," I'm going to love this movie" He did. We're going to see it again this weekend. In times of such confusion, it's such a blessing to have movies like this that completely take you away to a magical world and make you feel wonderful! I cannot wait for the next one!

Summary: Boring and long.
Review: It was great to see the world of Harry Potter come to life. I liked Hogwarts Castle, the Train Station, Hagrid, Dumbledore and Professor Snape. But, I felt that the movie was directly aimed at children, and offered nothing for adults. I found the movie to be boring and slow, which was a disappointment because I loved the books. I was hoping this movie would be as exciting as the first Star Wars movie - it wasn't. I also thought the kids playing the lead roles were bad actors - but they will probably improve in the next four HP movies. However, I asked my eight year old nephew what he thought and he loved it. So I guess that they hit their mark. I just found it boring and long.
