Summary: WARNING! LAME MOVIE
Review: I found the harry potter movie extremely lame. I can't understand how anyone could find it so good. I loved the books but this made it seem 'crud'. The impression I got from the movie was as if the director scan-read the book and when he wrote it he left out parts and changed parts when he couldn't remember them and when he couldn't remember the conclusion to events, he made up his own (such as getting rid of the dragon). The special effects were pretty good but it seemed as if they changed a lot so they could stick in graphics to hopefully make up for the rest of the movie.
The movie left out many parts and i can't think of a reason why they would. In the cabin Hagrid didn't seem surprised that Harry didn't know that he was a wizard. And why did the leave out the part with the logic problem potions?
Another illogical change was that Dumbeldore was suppose to be slighty quirky. They skiped out all the lines that showed this such as the thing he wanted the most was socks. Also Ron was suppose to be lanky and the twins shorter and stockier but Ron was quite short and the twins were lanky.
I really liked the book but the movie was simply lame...

Summary: "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" - Simply Splendid
Review: This movie had it all from wonderful music by John Williams to delightful storyline that kept me intrigued throughout the whole entire movie. The suspense, humor, and special effects come together to make this movie an instant classic for family and adults of all ages. I liked it so much, I've went to see it twice since the first visit. Simply the best entertainment I've seen for this year to date. I can't wait until it comes out on DVD. It's a must have movie for me in the coming year.

Summary: Pagan Opinion
Review: this movie shows nothing of real witchcraft as is said below. Its more about good wholesome fun which children as well as adults could love. actually it reminds me of the childrens movies from the 50's being that they are more to "poke fun" than really stress any serious situation. I find that it teaches quite a few human morals such as compassion, friendship, and honesty. i definatly recommend this to my children and to yours. i feel that these movies are safer than Disney's to be honest because Disney always has some secret tid-bit of sexual content somewhere in the movie that is only noticed after constant watching as a child would.

Summary: Clapping Muggles
Review: I am a 30 year old who not only enjoyed the books, but the movie was the best book to movie adaptation I have seen in a while. The imangination of the book, the detail, the adventure was captured is this wonderful movie. I have seen it 4 times and all the muggles in the theater were clapping (most of them were adults.

Summary: TOO true to the book
Review: Having read the first three Potter books, I looked forward to seeing the big screen dramatization of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. The book contained so much action (and little introspection) that the material seemed ripe for an entertaining and action-packed film. Unfortunately, the screenplay tries too hard to be faithful to J.K.Rowling. As a result, the film is lifeless and at times confusing, with little of the suspense it should have. There is a decided lack of focus to the story because it tries to contain too much. I suspect the screenwriter faced a no-win situation: to successfully adapt the novel to the screen, aspects would have had to be cut or changed to accomodate the different medium, thereby disappointing fans of the book, but to remain faithful to the book meant sacrificing dramatic thrust.

The highlight of this film is the casting, which is simply brilliant. Emma Watson as Hermione Granger stole every scene she appeared in; her intelligent, headstrong Hermione with a fiercely loyal heart is perhaps the most fully realized character in the movie. That doesn't mean the rest of the acting is inferior. Daniel Radcliff looks the part of Harry Potter, and is convincing with his good-natured bewilderment and unexpected bravery. Alan Rickman,as the creepy Snipes, and Maggie Smith, as the stern but protective Professor McGonagle, are adult standouts in this cast.

Although this movie was worth seeing, I would have been happier to wait until the release of the DVD or VHS version.

Summary: Mysterious and surprising....
Review: Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone was mysterious but the ending was really surprising. This movie is also scary but fun. It is about Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) an ordinary boy who lives with his uncle, aunt, and spoilt cousin Dudley and works for them, until a man comes and tells Harry that he is actually a wizard. Harry goes to a boarding school that teaches about magic. Although I rated this 3 stars and I don't actually like it, it was interesting.

Summary: Fun Story and an enjoyable escape!
Review: I had no prior knowledge of the books or story and saw the film skeptical of the hype....but it won me over. The story is wonderful, the effects are plenty but used only to help create this world, and the actors are pleasant to watch (rarely can I stand watching kid actors in large parts...thanks Jake Loyd for ruining Phantom Menace!). Unlike some fantasy films based on books, this movie is very easily enjoyed by mass audiences and does a great job bringing a unique a magical story for all to grasp and enjoy. Some scenes are a bit scary for younger children. Even though this is a "kids movie", teens and adults will also enjoy it. Overall, this movie is a lot of fun filled with discovery and adventure. I see it fast becoming a true classic that we'll remember for many years.

Summary: Harry Potter Movie
Review: I really loved this movie. It was excellent! I would like to give a big well done to Chris Columbus and Daniel Radcliffe. It is a very realistic movie. I would also like to thank the Warner Brothers. I hope the Warner Brothers make movies based on the other books of Harry Potter which Joanne Rowling has written. I would give a last thanks to Scholastic.

I hope you like this movie.
