Summary: Biggest Surprise Ever
Review: I grew up watching Muppet Movies and even saw the "Muppet Christmas Carol." I've always liked the Muppets. However, let's face it. Someone says Muppets and you instinctivly think kid's movies. "Muppets in Space," was the exception.
I first saw it when I was over at a friends apartment in college and a bunch of people wanted to watch it. I was initially confused as to why a bunch of 20-year-olds would want to watch a Muppet movie. I quickly found out why. This movie is hilarious! Why still being a movie for kids, the writers filled this movie with sophisticated humor that entertains adults as well.
I was happy to see that the focus was finally taken off Kermit. Don't get me wrong, he's still the original Muppet. But this movie proved who the real star of the crew is. The Shrimp. I forget his name, but my gosh is he hilarious. Watch as he delivers the best line in the movie, "You do that. And I will smack you. I will smack you like a bad bad donkey." The way it's done leaves people rolling.
All I can say is give this movie a chance. Even if you've forgotten about the Muppet movies or passed them off as kids films. You'll adore this one and quickly add it to your collection.

Summary: Die Hard Muppet Fan
Review: I have been a muppet fan since I was born in 1981. My dad raised me on the muppet show and I grew to think of Jim Henson as the man who has done the most for the spirit of children. I have to disagree with those who say his son has not done the muppet world justice. Muppets from space was able to achieve a sence of reality the other movies couldn't pull off. It made these charactors, not just creations of a human mind, but creatures who could actualy be living next door! If anything this has been the most majical "real life" muppet movie yet.

Summary: Probably the best kids movie showing at the time.
Review: I have to say 'Muppets From Space' was exactly good or perfect but I give it credit for beating the standards of 'Pokemon' and 'Inspector Gadget.' The muppets are really funny and this movie has an all-star cast including David Arquette (Dreams With The Fishes, Scream, Hi-Lo-Country, Scream 2, Scream 3), Ray Liotta (Copland) and Rob Schneider (King OF Comedy! was in Duece Bigalow and Big Daddy). It has a high then low then medium climax but its a great family movie. (10's and over - miss this!) TRUST ME!

Summary: Muppets Lite...But Still the Muppets
Review: I love the Muppets...have since I was a kid. I've seen four of the feature films, having yet to watch A Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island (the idea of reacting famous fables was not that appealing). I recently watched Muppets From Space to see how a Muppet movie from 1999 stood up against the three movies from the early 80s (made when Jim Henson was still alive). Henson was an absolute genius...few would debate that and he is sorely missed. Muppets From Space should be categorized along with the aforementioned features because it retains its own unique Muppet story line. However, when up against these earlier films, it lacks something magical that we as Muppet fans were given before. Of course, ANY Muppet movie is better than NO Muppet movie and Muppets From Space is cute and entertaining in its own right...just not sharply satirical like the others. Nor is it a rousing musical like the others, replacing original Muppet numbers with an oldies sound track. This aspect is disappointing. Also disappointing is the absence (or near absence) of some our favorites, like the other members of Electric Mayhem (besides Animal), Rowlf, Scooter and others. Some new characters are fine, like Pepe the Prawn. Others, like Clifford the rastafarian catfish, are annoying and are distracting because of their obvious attempt to update the Muppet cast. Why fix what was never broke? The earlier movies satisfied kids and adults on equal levels. This time around, kids were clearly the target audience. In fairness though, there are a handful of clever jokes in the movie, reminiscent of the old days. It's too bad such moments are few and far between. Muppets From Space is worth the watch, but I hope film makers are able to make future Muppet projects and rediscover Henson's wonderful magic.

Summary: MUPPETS!- and a nice use of DVD technology.
Review: I loved the movie, but I bought this for the DVD extras. I like it when DVDs do something that could only be presented on that format, and this movie's "live video commentary" fufills that. It brings up a little row of theater seats, MST3K style, and the director and various Muppets comment on the film. Just as funny by itself- like 2 movies in one! Plus some funny outtakes, a music video, and other stuff. A good, low-cost DVD, and a fun movie, great for little kids.

Summary: From a Galaxy Far, Far Away...Came...Gonzo!
Review: I loved this movie! I had so much fun with it. The songs were cute and all the warmth and friendship of the muppets was there. Rizzo the Rat's supportive role was great. I would have liked to have seen more space scenes and alittle more with Gonzo's family, but I still loved everything about the film. It's a great addition to any muppet collector's treasury. If you want a fun, fuzzy, warm movie this is it.

Summary: A dvd for adults and kids
Review: I remember when I was little I used to watch this movie all the time with my parents. I'm glad it's on DVD now so I can watch it with my little sister. The Muppets were great back then and now. It's not as great as the other Muppet movies, but this one is still definitely worth watching and having.

Summary: The most fun muppet movie yet...
Review: I saw this when it came out in the theater (afternoon showing) and it was packed with kids. There was plenty for the kids and adults to enjoy, although it seemed to be at different points. My girlfriend and I could hardly stay in our seats from laughing so hard. To those that say there is not a positive message in this compared to other (read: older) Henson films, I have to disagree. Some complain that there are not musical numbers - those were the parts that I could do without as a kid, and even moreso as an adult. My sister and her daughter both loved this movie. I consider this to be better that many of the muppet movies out there (definitely better than Treasure Island). The only part I would change in this movie is Hulk Hogan's (thankfully brief) completely over the top cameo.
Relax, kick up the Home Theater a knotch and let the good times (and good music) roll!

Summary: Almost perfect DVD, movie much better than Treasure Island
Review: If you're reading this then you obviously like the Muppets which means you have to get this disc now! The video commentary is excellent, though because of its humour NOT technical detail. This beats the dull Muppet Treasure Island by a long way. We need more video commentaries like this!

Summary: The least of the Muppet adventures, but still a great ride!!
Review: In some ways MUPPETS FROM SPACE tries to recreate the feel of the original Muppet Movie, and it does fairly well. The Muppets aren't tackling roles in classic literature here, they're back to being themselves in an adventure beyond rationalization. However, certain things cry out that are missing that keep this movie from reaching the same level as any of the previous films. One, there is only one song in the entire movie that the Muppets perform and it was already a big hit. While the funk soundtrack is definitely exciting and humorous, I miss the terrifically zany Muppet songs. Two, Gonzo is tortured at one point in this film and is frightened. Anyone who has watched the previous films knows Gonzo likes pain. That's one of his endearingly weird qualities. And three, if Gonzo's contemplating leaving the planet with his new found brothers, and he's saying goodbye to everybody, where is his girlfriend Camilla? He'd definitely say goodbye to her. At first I had a fourth point as well, we don't want to know what Gonzo is, but if you think about it they still don't answer that fully. That "spaceship" could have came from Cleveland. I don't know, but it could have. In any case, the Muppet magic is still present, the cameo appearances were humorous, and the various movie references still make me laugh. I'll always love the Muppets and as far as I'm concerned, they can't make a bad movie. Long live Dave Goelz!!!!
