Summary: E.T.-Phone Home Because it is Brilliant
Review: This is the one where Spielberg pays tribute to his friend Lucas(notice the Star Wars toys in Elliot's room!).I swear that this is the same neighborhood that Poltergeist was filmed(I could be wrong of course).Cute little Drew Barrymore is great, and bicycle flying sequence with John William's score is awesome. There was a scene that was cut involving Elliot having to go before the principal of the school(principal was played by Harrison Ford).

Summary: Spielberg's best film
Review: This film is one of the best . . . ever. It's the only film I have ever cried during. When E.T. dies, I cried. Yeah, I fell for Spielberg's magic touch. It's truly a wonderful film. No explosions. No computer graphics. Just pure Spielberg genius. It's surprising that this film was never followed by a sequel. If the film had been made today, then Universal Studios would have demanded a few sequels to this great film. This film is worth owning on VHS and it really needs to be released on DVD. This was probably the best film released during the eighties. Classic.

Summary: Two thumbs up
Review: When I was a kid, I saw this film seven times, just on the theater. Since then many years have passed. I now have my own little kid, and let me tell you, the first movie I though on buying to him was this. No other movie has moved me such as "E.T.", the loving little alien truly captures your heart and just makes you weep of joy (and a bit of sadness, specially whe he leaves). I am really looking forward for the DVD edition of this movie.

Summary: Steven Spielberg proves that he can do any kind of movies
Review: This Movie is one of my best ones, Steven Spielberg is a genuis director, he can make you FEEL and LIVE the movie he makes with a very SIMPLE way, no complications, just being simple and perfect, that movie is the best, He created a very loving Alien, He used this simple boy, that very perfect directing, no (over use) of since fiction or animation, he just makes that movie to "TOUCH OUR HEARTS" and untill those present days, after those years, it still touches our heart like the first time we watche it, Steven Spielberg,.....YOU are GREAT, thank you so much Mr. Spielberg...

Summary: WONDER-FILLED
Review: Steven Spielberg's childhood fantasy reaches so deeply into our collective youth that it becomes real to you. No wonder it broke box-office records everywhere, and remains one of the most successful films of all time. This movie oozes the heart and soul of a man who yearns to have back the wonder and joy of being a child. All of the performances are winning, from Henry Thomas' wide-eyed yet melancholy boy, to Dee Wallace Stone's believable mother, to Drew Barrymore's truly hilarious and adorable Gertie. John Williams' music will forever engender the magic of a boy, his bike and his beloved alien friend cycling past a full moon. All of the things that matter the most in life, from family, to home, to growing up, are cherished in every frame of this wondrous movie. Share it with your children as soon as you can.

Summary: So good it can't be put into words
Review: I grew up in the 80's and E.T. was always one of my favorite movies, and it still is and always will be. Like most Steven Spielberg movies, it was a classic and broke new ground in movie genres. It's about an alien called E.T. that befriends a young boy (Henry Thomas)and for awhile, nobody else even knows anything about E.T. until Elliot tells his brother, sister, and friends about E.T. They all laugh and don't believe him until he introduces his brother to E.T. and his sister (Drew Barrymore). Both become attached to the alien just like Elliot. When the mom (Dee Wallace Stone) finds out about E.T., trouble arises and the law is out to find E.T. That's when Elliot's and his brother's friends find out about E.T. and try to keep the alien away from the law. In the end, E.T. goes back home and leaves the family with a sense of friendship and belonging.

E.T. is one of the best classics of all time and it has its mark on movie history. Not because it brought in tons of money at the theatres, but because it was a revolutionary drama and a movie that anybody could enjoy. It probably has more memorable scenes and lines than any other movie of the 80's. Some are when E.T. makes the bicycles fly through the air to make getting away from the police a breeze, Elliot and the gang trying to find E.T. by laying a bunch of Reese's pieces on the ground, and the all-famous line "E.T. phone home." I'm 19 now and I haven't even looked at my toys for years, but some of the ones I remember most are a E.T. light that my mom used to keep glowing in my room and a phone with E.T. on it. E.T. brings back many memories from when I was a kid and I can't wait to show it to my kids and tell them about it when I get married and have them one day.

Even if you don't like drama movies, this is one movie you can't miss no matter who you are. I don't know too many people that don't like this movie.

Summary: Great as can be
Review: I love this film for many reasons. It is very emotional and is brilliantly directed. Very good acting by all and one helluva bike ride. The music is great also. If you weird and HAVE NOT seen this, do it NOW. No matter what your age is, this movie will touch your soul and move you to tears.

Summary: Cool Movie, but could be better on DVD
Review: Well, that is truly a beautifully filmed movie. I can't wait for the dvd release. I have both versions, the original, and the Michael Jackson commentary version. They are both excellent, and I hope on the Dvd that they have a language selection for the commentary by Mike! Way to go Steve and Mike!

Summary: A classic movie
Review: This movie is one of the best ever made. It is a very emotional film and and presented in a wonderful way. It expresses our innermost feelings which we hardly recognize. It was sad thing that the Academy did not find it fit for the best film Oscar.

Summary: Sentimental Spielberg.
Review: I was 10 when this movie came out and I must have seen it twice in the theatre. I've watched it periodically as I've gotten older, and I think it's a bit overly sentimental. While it is definitely a classic film, I do think it's a bit slow. I know I'm treading on thin ice by saying these things, but if you look at some of Spielberg's other works it is obvious that Jaws has more going for it among others. By all means though, this is a must have for any film collector and it's highway robbery that almost none of Spielberg's best films are on DVD!
